You mean this Can't remember what forum i got this from though.

Exactly. 6k is the US price just for parts. Add the rest as well as tune and supporting parts and you've gotta be nuts to build an NA V35. Or etremely rich and don't mind losing money.
-
Actually found it - it was an R32. sorry
-
Pretty sure Top Secret did it, but that was in their R34 circuit car with the VQ35 in it.

Maybe a letter first requesting a bit of leniancy? taking it to court can be expensive, especially if they have a pic of you in the lane, as really your court case will basically be, "please be kind, it was a mistake"

R32 V-spec Ii At Edward Lees
NISMO replied to iplen's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
I love the "immaculate condition" in the description yet the steering wheel looks like its been chewed by a doberman for 6 weeks straight. -
But as for the ETS, if you really think one iota of it will be there to stop pollution, you really have issues. An ETS is nothing but a stroke of genius by various industry groups who will make millions convincing morons that the earth will blow up tomorrow unless we raise prices of goods. ETS my arse! eg Electricity company A causes x pollution, in turn they have to pay x dollars in ETS. They then up the prices to me and you to cover this cost. Please someone show me the incentive for this company to lower pollution. What a farking joke!!!!!! Now, do the same as the above, but mandate that no company can raise a single price higher than the CPI and all of a sudden you have incentive to lower pollution. Its so simple my 6yo can understand it. But its ok, people need to believe some bullsh!t and i guess the earth ending tomorrow because i don't have an electric car is flavour of the month.

Behind from an emissions perspective, in what way. Thinking on a global scale, we can take every single car in Aus off the road for years and it will make fark all difference to global pollution. Whats narrow minded is people looking at the air data from the last 50-100 yrs and then thinking they are the know all's of the earth's climate and pollution. Damn, matty, beat me to it

I think I'm going to try the 8100 next. As above ran the car on the weekend at Wakie with Chrono 300V, and really not that happy with it from just a "feel" perspective. It's like its just a little too thin or something. The car seems noisier and rougher compared to when i used Grp IV oils. On a side note, my mate on the day with a 500kw at all 4 wheels GTR, used a semi synth called Brad Penn. Had a search on BITOG, and some mixed reviews but seems like a decent semi-synth.

What an awesome vid. great driving, and love the commentry overlayed over the footage!

When i had my 6sp V35, i was lapping around the 1:15's. The car was stock engine wise, but i did have the full NISMO suspension kit including swaybars and it made a huge difference. As a guide, when an instructor jumped in to show me what the car could do, he had no probs getting by cars who were lapping a few seconds quicker then me. In his opinion they are a very very well balanced car, and we both found that it was extremely good through the corners with the NISMO suspension.

def agree Joe. But that has 0 to do with lowering the pension today, and using it as an example of how much tax we pay and why we should vote for abbott. (that is if what that post by Franga was alluding too) As it stands right now, some people who have worked their whole lives don't have super, and don't have a tonne of investments to live off. They are also the same people who got this country to the prosperous position it is in now.
-
Can i just get this right. Are you saying that abbott will lower the pension, as in aged pension? I'm all for pissing off things like the dole, but i don't see how any gov can lower the aged pension. If $16744 is what a pensioner recieves per annum and that is there only source of income, would you be able to live off that? Or are pensioners supposed to eat bread and water and not leave their houses. With EVERY single utility bill rising on what is now a regular basis, can you please explain to me how pensioners are supposed to live on less? I've got no prob with Abbott taking the "hard" line, but i 100% believe that droping the aged pension is NOT the place to do it.

Had my first ever spin at the fish hook. I was using Khumo Ku36 tyres, and had no idea that a street tyre needed so much heat before they worked. Came out the pits nice and easy and barely made turn 1. Took it very easy up through the top and even coming in slowly into the hook, all 4 just let go and did a nice couple of 360's. 2 laps later though, they were awesome, and easily one of best street tyres you can get for the track.

Sorry Sam, but thats a pretty ignorant thing to say dude. Cars have been used as investments for many many many years, and ALOT of people have become very rich trading in cars. I'm not saying that GTR owners are all sitting on a million bucks, but to say a general statement that cars are not investments is ridiculous. Go say that to the guy who sold his falcon for $700k+

Completely agree!! When i was looking for a GTR i was actually looking for a 33, when i came across the N1. I made a decision based on the rarity of the car that the N1 would be an investment and a better buy. (Being a GTR fanboy, 33,32,34 It doesn't bother me which one i have , i like them all!) Anyway, i had an offer of $5k + what i paid for it, on the day i bought it. Have had a few serious offers since. In Japan, an N1 with 60 thousand more k's and no books, just sold for approx 10k more than what i paid for mine. Increases aside, I'll bet my ar$e that it won't depreciate at the rate of normal GTR's So yes, its an investment, and its increasing. So, again look at the numbers. The rare, original well looked after cars are rising. Its simple maths for crying out loud.

Awesome day. Think I'm still smiling. The black 32 went out for two sessions as his 2l catchcan filled and overflowed after that. There was nothing wrong with the car at all but he didn't want to tempt fate on his first track day. Had the pleasure of going out with him in the first session to show him some lines but was to busy crapping myself. We didn't get out of 3rd gear and the brakes were cooked trying to pull it up after each squirt down the straight. An absolute beast!!!!!

How Well Do You Know The R32 Gt-r. Godzilla?
NISMO replied to PR34CH's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Originally was supposed to be a 2.4, which at the time was a stroked version of the 2.0L Nissan engine, to compete in the 4000cc class in Grp A (2.4x1.7 = 4000cc) but then due to the weight of the car they decided to bump up the power and compete in a higher class (4500cc) in Grp A. All that = RB26DETT -
Some examples from a quick look on J-spec. So again i stand buy that the clean cars are increasing in Japan where they are starting to be sort after, but i doubt you'll see your average run of mill, abused GTR increase in Aus anytime soon. A clean stock 32 GTR, close to $30k landed and complied http://www.j-spec.com.au/dealer/1993-Nissa...-R-3824870.html A stock V-Spec-II, very low k's, with books close to $45k landed and complied http://www.j-spec.com.au/dealer/1994-Nissa...II-3790981.html Stock, normal GTR, one owner car, with books, over $35k landed and complied http://www.j-spec.com.au/dealer/1993-Nissa...-R-3239034.html
-
yeah thats my point. In aus you can get a V-spec II for $25k, but how many have genuine low k's, with books and are kept in stock condition. Its these original well looked after cars that are rising. Years back you couldn't buy a v-spec for under $30k in Aus, so even these are falling. I honestly can't see prices rising here anytime soon, except for the few well looked after original cars that people want. And even then its all a matter of finding a buyer at the right time who really wanst a certain car.

Any One Upgraded The Brakes On Their V35 ?
NISMO replied to Dan85's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Awesome advice and completely agree. As i said i think the factory callipers, sorted properly with pads, rotors and fluids, will be fine for most people doing the occasional track day. In my GTR, i had Brembo's on the front, which i have removed and replaced back with teh stock Nissan callipers. I rebuilt the callipers myself, new rotors and QFM pads and the car stops much much better than what it did with the Brembo's. The pads i had (NFI what they where) weren't suited to the rotors and really scared me a couple of times at Wakie and Oran Park. You also don't have to spend big bucks. Yes 6 piston AP callipers look awesome, but if you not chasing 100th's of seconds at trackdays every month, i really think its overkill. Proj Mu are great pads, but in all honesty and just my opinion, bang for buck you can't go past the QFM pads if you do spirited driving and the occassional track day. Especially if you're on street rubber. If you have semi's and well sorted suspension and are really going for it, then yes, get the best brakes you can afford as they'll give you confidence to use the potential of the rest of your set-up. -
Already a discussion about prices here http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R3...73#entry5347173 Personally, i think if anything they'll keep going down or stay steady in the short term (next 5-10yrs). But it will largely depend on the car and how much someone wants that particular car.
-
Bingo! Anyone who thinks that they won't rise in value is kidding themsleves. Thats not to say that the shitters are all of a sudden gonna jump up, but good clean examples are already rising. I was lookg through some Jap dealerships just last week, and there is quite a few original, low k 32 GTR's with books for well over $35k Aus. V-specs over $40k. 33 GTR's over $40k. The fact that the majority of cars here in Aus are utter crap means sweet FA, when comes to the value of the original, rarer excellent examples. Some 18yo fan boys will eventually become middle aged men who can afford a toy.
-
I'll def change it this time around before the track day as it has been around 6 months. Once i get the new stuff in, I'll do the UOA on a regular basis and decide from there when to change it. Thanks for all your help siks, much appreciated.
