  1. also another note, where and how are the map sensors connected for the djetro kit?
  2. hi please check the basics check pipework, solenoids, idle control (basically what the others have said) post a photo of ETC, SENSOR SW CHECK post a photo of ETC, FUNCTION SELECT post a photo of SETTING, REV LIMIT if you cant work out how to get these, learn here http://www.paulr33.com/powerfc-emulator/menu.html
  3. no idea, it doesn't say so the unknowns at this stage why is the RSM included is it a Ap engineering style remap (ie permenant remap, so DATA INIT is OK) or is it a BCNR33 with a custom tune (ie DATA INIT will revert back to BCNR33 defaults) does ETC VERSION show RB26DETT or RB25D1 / RB25DETD1 is RB25DET VCT supported
  4. yeah its a GTR R33 PowerFC, it has always worked on ECR33 the Mafia did it and cubes did it as well you need to make some wiring loom changes (i suspect the field one touch loom kit theyve used does this) and some tune changes the known gotchas we found was if you DATA INIT- it will go back to BCNR33 defaults instead of ECR33 tune, so what happens here? no support for VCT - sluggish car overall bonus support for air temp sensor included it will be interesting to see if the nengun/apexi actually remap the BCNR33 PFC or just supply a generic one if its remapped properly (ap engineering stlye) then when you DATA INIT, it will come back as ECR33 Djetro and also VCT would be included if they remap it properly

  6. updated 05/06/2010 Added Apexi PowerFC ECR33 Djetro Special Offer Kit http://paulr33.com/powerfc-faq/powerfc-faq.htm#96
  7. ok that's a new one i havent seen this is a special kit made by nengun directly and it includes BCNR33 Powerfc Field one touch loom patch kit apexi rsm map sensor + sensor harness djetro sensor harness air temp sensor base tune for ECR33 djetro all in a compete kit for $1960 delivered it looks like i suspect the loom kit theyve used pairs up the map sensor input and also performs the other wire changes that cubes identified are required to make BCNR33 PFC work on ECR33.
  8. oh what the? are you sure? yeah djetro should use the same ECU, its no different, other than map sensors instead of airflow meters
  9. i cant see how nistune would be at its power limits its just maps and numbers the only time it would be phyiscal possible to be at a power limit, is when you max injectors air fuel spark make power, not mapping, so it doesnt sound right to me i would not expect power gains changing ECUs you would only see a power gain if its not tuned correctly
  10. some models are still made, some are discontinued ECR33 is the most common problem one, discontinued as NEC no longer make the NEC PF74 (or FP74 cant remember) processor needed for it ap engineering units are no longer made pro versions are no longer made - these were made by ap engineering BCNR33 / BNR32 / BNR34 / EVO / WRX etc units are still avaiable new from apexi so yes they are still made new (some models) for discontinued models (such as ECR33) you have to resort to 2nd hand units
  11. to check if its wired in leave the car running in neutral put on handbrake turn the key off let the timer start to count down drop the handbrake during count down if its wired in the engine should shut off
  12. i woudnt bother with another SMIC your ambient temp is excessive at best, so you need as much help as possible a larger core directly in the airflow is a big step in the right direction the SMIC is useless, too small, in the wrong location and won't be effective enough
  13. no idea, sounds faulty do you have the 02 sensor and handbrake wire hooked up? maybe its one of those causing it to go spazzo - check them (ie loose, short circuit etc)
  14. so there you have it you have 3 critical elements to cause excessive detonation / pinging lots of boost a shit intercooler a poor cold air intake system and poor fuel so you will need to negate at least one or two of those to correct it better fuel will certianly help a better intercooler will help, but it is only as good as the ambient air temp less boost will always help a good cold air intake will certainly help
  15. nistune sounds pretty good, its essentially a bridge into the stock ecu so you can adjust everything as needed and update it as you like apexi still exist and are still producing products, but only some in limited volumes and youll find ECR33 PFC is discontinued as NEC have run out of processor used FP74 you can still purchase other PFC's brand new
  16. hi mark not sure what is wrong but in my ECR33 I have Apexi RSM and powerfc if i turn my key to ON but dont start the car every 6-7 seconds (like yours) my RPM goes from 0 to 40 (ish) RPM and back to 0 the needle doesnt phyiscally move the RSM definetly shows the RPM goto 40 and then back to 0
  17. theres a guy who reads out the train names and schedules at parliament he sounds like he would be more interested if he read out cricket scores and cricket commentry instead
  18. the main causes of pinging/detonation are excessive intake temps, poor fuel, or too much timing what intercooler how is the state of tune how is your cold air intake setup what are the intake temps what fuel are you using
  19. enough is enough. if you have an opinion, no problem. but i do have a problem if you insist on attacking every post and taking it on as a battle you feel you have to win warning level increased and your posts are on moderator review for a set period let this be a note to everyone else reading this thread we dont mind if you have a view or opinion, but enough is enough
  20. it will be the A-LSD / SLIP computer not recieving TPS signal from the new ECU the old OEM ECU probably relays the TPS signal from the main ECU (which youve changed) to the ECU in the boot the powerfc does this with the A-LSD in ECR33, the slip light comes on and fails
  21. check the ECU itself open it up, look for burnt components, smell the board etc also try bypassing the SAFC completely to eliminiate it being stupid
  22. use google or calculator to convert from PSI to bar or kgcm2 all of the jap guages and controllers will be in KGcm2 most boost controllers will be the same as well from memory not many will let you set boost in PSI or display it why not just learn kgcm2 or bar? they're pretty close to each other
  23. its not a matter of what to expect, its what can you afford to let it go for and how long can you wait? if you want it for 12k then be prepared to wait 12 months at least if you want quick sale then put it up for 9k and anyone that calls will work you down to 8k so take it at 8 its a game of how long and how bad do you want to sell
  24. this what you mean? doesn't goto 2 bar and wont show in PSI (none of them OEM ones will) http://www.nengun.com/nismo/console-meter-skyline-r32-gtr
  25. yeah i think we've done the rounds.... nothing more productive can be of this thread
