  1. if his R33 is 1998 model with ER34 style CAS you are in luck, otherwise no good
  2. agree try it yourself there is probably youtube videos on how to do it
  3. yes you can use fc-hako to change maps, just like you can use datalogit do it as well yes there is no way to change maps other than using a laptop/PC and the PowerFC this is becuase the powerfc only ever has one active map at any one time you could, certainly bend your tune to suit E85, but it is far from a complete map change ie bend the injector correction and using Temp IGN/INJ to run e85 but i wouldnt want to use it as a daily requirement it depends on how much different the e85 tune is. is it compeltely different or just a bend of the same 98 tune?
  4. yeah there is a new box just on the market that i have been lucky to test and check out if you are interested its on their website www.fc-hako.com and ill be adding it to the powerfc FAQ this week
  5. mine was leaning out at 190rwkw
  6. hi if you have the STD ECU and the engine is knocking - that is detonating the engine check light will NOT come on if you have an apexi powerfc and the engine is knocking - that is detonating th enge check light will flash when knock level exceeds 60 if you have any ECU and the engine has a mechnical knock such as big end bearing - no engine check light will come on as the ECU has no way to check and measure this
  7. yeah power windows in skylines when broken = heaps
  8. yes your tuner is correct, this is the same for R33 GTST with Active LSD The std ecu present in this model car - like your GTS4 is different, as it relays the TPS signal to the 4WD computer in the boot the normal GTST ecu won't do this and thus the system fails. I had this issue on my ECR33 with Active LSD adn the fix was to find the wire that runs to the A-LSD computer in the boot and bridge it to the TPS signal wire, problem solved without a TPS signal the 4WD/A-LSD system fails
  9. i think you may find it's actually the opposite having 4wd gives you this magical hope it will be ok so you go harder and push your skills harder only to find you still come off 2nd best i think theres a lot of hero mode when a gtr is the car of choice as dont worry bro, 4wd will save you and you push yourself harder ie you might not normally take that corner as hard in a RWD car as you know it will slip but 4wd has the assumption it wont slip but it doesnt always work that way
  10. what i mean here is that with the std airbox most users run decent panel filters which dont let in dirt people who run a pod usually leave it open and exposed and this allows dirt to get into the air intake once you get a spec of dirt into the compressor housing and it gets in the bearings, goodbye
  11. find the service manual and look it up in there ?
  12. moved from tutorial
  13. agree moderator please warning on TwentySix pointless dig up of the archives with pointless comments
  14. i think the VL commodore plug is the same find a friend with a VL and check, if its the same goto a local commodore parts wrecker
  15. application of use plays a bit part in their life span ie open mounted, poor filtering, std airbox and std filter, exposed cheap pod filter, no inline oil filter, plain bearing without cool down / idle down cycle my std turbo is 223,000 kms old and still going well but that's not the be-all and end-all apparently there is a 100,000 rebuild "criteria" that nissan used when there was no BOV used but i have no records of it, and no data to back it up, the rumor is that the service interval changed when they fitted std bovs
  16. thanks scotty for the manual but thats still only the service manual looking for the engine technical manual it shows you how to pull everyything apart
  17. i think ive spent about 12 on my gtst and it still goes alright had it 7 years and ive done 180,000 in it
  18. my vote goes to docklands hands down a lot better no bbq isnt the be-all and end-all and its a much better location/venue with lots more exposure
  19. i didnt think promoters / traders could reply like that? yes you need to change the ducting as the normal GTR afms are 65mm and the Z32s are 80mm so the actual rubber joiners are too small. apparently you can strech them to 80mm but who knows how reliable or safe this is (ie with 20year old rubber will it break?)
  20. hey thanks scotty how many pages is it the one im looking for should be 150+ pages
  21. someone get me a GTR R34 with a big single external setup thanks
  22. the exhaust temp makes sense but thats the first ive seen a 1 meter limit how far away would the std 02 narrow band sensor be? you reckon its 1m?
  23. if you said you used a mates hand controller and he has PFC ECR33 serial # then yours is labelled wrong its the only thing that makes sense or its a non-std powerfc or something else is wrong N001 or FCC NT should work on PFC RB25 XXXXXX X001 or FCC3 should work on PFC ECR33 XXXXXX the first two digits of the serial # is the build year so yours was built in 1998 apparently
