  1. i had a similar problem, darren turned out that it was because i had cut wire 53 (to remove speed limiter) and the car just thought that was a terrible idea. would stall sometimes at low rpm for no reason. might be worth checking it out could be a broken wire somewhere in the loom. it sounds like you have enough cash to go searching so maybe invest in a brand new wiring loom? good luck, Waz.
  2. there's not the P-plate system here?? they are an awesome idea... also referred to as "perve" plates as you know that when you check out the female driver she is guaranteed to be 21 or younger
  3. its always going to be a contentious issue. i would say stick to 10psi to be on the safe side. some say 12psi is capable on the stock intercooler, but is it worth the risk? others will say 14psi as they have run it like that with no problems... the generally accepted rule of thumb on the forums is: - stock turbo is good for 14psi (some have failed at 10psi) - stock intercooler good for 10-12psi - stock engine management only good for 10-12psi i say take the weakest link and stick at that level. happy boosting Waz.
  4. could be the ptu or any wire going to that coil that carries the spark to the coil... cheers, Warren.
  5. at the end of the day, you can proudly say you drive a skyline congrats!
  6. conrats on the job! surely for 55k you could gt an R34GTT with low kms these days? how low do the kms have to be? i like the idea of an XR6T but they are common as all hell these days... if you like drifting then don't bother considering the rex. totally different car. you should either keep the R32 as a weekend thrasher or sell me your turbo kit before you sell the car!
  7. as has been sid, thr first thing should be a trans cooler. they're not expensive (less than the price of a new gearbox if something overheats in the meantime)
  8. moved up in jan to study medicine the weather is so good its not funny...
  9. i don't know what to say to that other than - my mechanic would not stock any other parts - i saw the old cams that came out of the engine before they went into the bin (they acutually snapped one getting it out) - mechanic is a friend of the family cams were purchased from GT51R who has (had) a well documented white R33 GTR Vspec so i have no reason to doubt the origins of the cams yes, i actually have no ws of proving if they were specifically rb26 cams as there was no 'rb26' printed on them etc. but my mechanic said that they had a higher lift of about .5mm next time you are in brisbane you are more than welcome to come and check them out if that is possible (as long as whatever you take off you replace) and you buy me a slab as compensation Waz.
  10. mine went in fine without any drama's on the stock ECU performance gain not as much as documented but still gains to be had i think especially if you went a cam gear sydneykid is a big fan of rb26 cams in the rb20...
  11. i have used penrite HPR10 for the last 5 or 6 oil changes (30,000kms) and have had no drama's... Waz.
  12. unless there's no spark getting to the coil, thus making it 'seem' like coil pack failure? hmmm maybe it could be the ptu or wiring around that system somehow?
  13. as in original post, i have changed all 6 coils with working ones. even tried many combinations of the 12 coils that were available. coils are not the problem... weird thing is it gets worse as the car warms up which is not representative of coil pack failure
  14. happy birthday mate
  15. where is that in relation to st lucia? i have just moved here from melb...
  16. is it the wire that goes from the ptu to the earth on the plate covering the coils?
  17. anyone want to help out a fellow SAU'er?? have had this weird 'miss' that can only be felt at idle or low rpm. gets worse when the engine warms up and seems to be better when its a cold night. its not: - coils - plugs - fuel filter - oxygen sensor - aac valve i was hoping that there was someone with a working rb20 AFM that would be able to let me come over and try their afm in my car to see if it fixes my problem? i live in the St Lucia area anyone out there willing to help? cheers, Warren.
  18. this version of the rb20, as mentioned, is absolutely GUTLESS remember that this engine makes less power than a locally-delivered R31 and in the heavy R33 chassis yeah its a skyline, and looks a treat too, but if you are thinking you will get a little bit of power with this car you are wrong. don't be surprised if this car gets beaten by a stock pulsar at the "traffic light grand pirx"...
  19. the common misconception is a 'stock' car... has anyone ever seen a DEAD STOCK r32 down at the drags? ...most people often call a car with just a 3" exhaust a 'stock' car i mean stock exhaust, muffler, cat, air filter, boost, fuel... EVERYTHING the kind of person who takes their car to the drags is the same kind of person who will modify it i tend to think that i DEAD STOCK r32 gtst with a normal driver would run a 16... Waz.
  20. g'day mate. after prices and condition of: rear pods (if you have) air flow meter [email protected] or PM cheers, Warren.
  21. hey jevan, sorry to hear mate... and the car's only new as well... bad start i didn't get badly hasseled in all my driving time in melb must have just been bad luck i haven't even seen a cop car up here in brisvegas!
  22. i might be down there... how does it work - pay on the night? or do i have to pre-book etc... i'd be happy with a 15!
  23. i live in St Lucia which is north of the river (just) clearly the better side though...
  24. will to separate? after AFM + AFM plug? cheers, Warren.
  25. g'day SAUers, well, as the title says i'm moving to QLD... i'm coming from melbourne leaving on the 17th, stopping at byron bay, then coming up to live in brisvegas I'm moving for study, and will be attending UQ (St Lucia campus) as mentioned in this thread: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=57794 Anyone go to UQ? Anyone recommend a mechanic in or around brisbane city? Anyone recommend some nice restraunts/places to go in or around the city? Will be keen to come to any SAU meetups for the QLD arm of the SAU club, or if there is nearby legal drags i am keen to take my car sometime soon... So look out for a dark blue R32 GTSt with SAU stickers on the rear qurter window cheers, Warren.
