  1. well the R32 GTSt (manual) is suppost to cover the quarter mile in about 14.5sec stock, but i will believe it when i see it! maybe with a professional driver when it was brand new...
  2. i would guess that the sender from the R31 would be the same, and if so then also from the VL commonwhore would definately be cheaper anyway let us know if they are the same
  3. find somebody in the FS section selling a halfcut or dismanlting an engine and get a couple of second-hand ones...
  4. when i put my highbeams on the headlights stay on also... oh well, works normal enough for me
  5. yeah 12psi on the stock exhaust is not very efficient, and in fact i'm surprised you feel much of a power increase over the stock 7psi? with a 3" trubo-back exhaust the boost increase will yield a lot more power 12psi on the stock cooler is about at its limit so you could pass up on the FMIC untill after the SAFC if you want, but it should also be on the list for peace of mind that detaonation due to high intake temps is not going to be an issue cheers, Waz.
  6. it has been discussed many times on the forums, but is rarely done because there was a factory turbocharged option. most people just buy the turbocharged car saving time, money, hassle, and tuning issues BUT... a supercharged skyline would be a very nice machine and is definately possible to do
  7. well another auto R32 driver here, but i think people are underestimating the drivetrain losses with the auto box i made 132rwkw with 3" turbo-back exhaust, FMIC, filter, rb26 cams, and 12psi (running very rich) my tuner suggested i would have approx 155rwkw if it were manual, based on what he has seen in his experiences, which is about what zoom magazine found when they converted the rb20 r31 to manual and picked up 20rwkw saying that though, the off-the-line work is very easy to get consistently right and stalling the auto can counter for the lag by never being off boost in a drag race i have noticed though that when you change the gearstick (eg from 1 to 2) there is a delay of about 0.5-1 sec before the gear actually changes and its a bit of a pain in that regard... i would also recommend a trannie cooler which i have installed on my car but i have never 'raced' a manual skyline so i have no way to compare its performance... cheers, Waz.
  8. go to the supermarket and ask the checkout chick (ask for her number while you're there )
  9. what pressure radiator cap do you have on it? if the thermostat worries you why don't you just gut the thermostat so its always opened? Waz.
  10. when you say 5psi boost, do you have an aftermarket boost gauge, or are you talking about on the stock gauge? becuase 5 on the stock gauge is 5 * 100mmHg which is about 9-10psi which could be close to 12psi given human error in estimation as for the idle, i would check all connections in the engine bay especially AFM (air flow meter) next i would check all hoses for air leaks (as stated already). it may be as simple as a loose clamp if fails, i would try changing the spark plugs (NKG coppers part no BCPR6ES work well and cost $3-4 each). the plugs may be fouled or just stuffed. if this doesn't work then unless you have a good knowledge of your car (which i'm guessing you dont) take it to the mechanic good luck! Waz.
  11. stay away from power road car sales... their prices do NOT include and compliance or anything. they basically get the car off the boat and put it on the floor. when you buy it then they add on about $3-4k worth of fixing up as Gordon said, you'd be looking between $12-15k for a decent example at a dealership

hey chris, sorry to hear mate... i hate them little fckers also i'd say go nuts with the surface spray and then let the car air out for a few days. If they survive that then they deserve to be there!
  13. cut a hole and put in a vent of some sort... ?
  14. do you have the rear pods?
  15. i use HPR10 in my RB20DET its 10w50 which is perfect as far as i'm concerned... on a turbocharged engine i was of the understanding that you don't want the oil to be too thick... cheers, Warren.
  16. i bought a dump/front-in-one from BATMBL in the for sale section... made a noticable power difference on my rb20-equipped R32 cheers, Warren.
  17. well i am leaving for Brisbane on the 17th but am a paid-up member if you want some shots of a near-stockie? Its a Dark Blue R32GTSt with visually: FMIC, exhaust, skirts, GTR-style front lip on stock bar colour looks bluey-purple in the right light and quite sexy if i do say so myself... or looks almost black in the night light if you want it i'm pretty much free from now untill the 16th... cheers, Warren. PS can call me on 0413 555 417 if you need
  18. lucky i move to QLD in 10 days...
  19. is your exhaust excessively noisy?? as in are they correct and you're just pissed to be caught, or are they trying to give you the shaft? why don't you go down to the EPA to get tested or something? Waz.
  20. yes please!!! keilor is very convenient for me if you can either call me on 0413 555 417 or PM/post me your phone number then i'll come over to test it out i have sat/sun free this weekend if that's feasable? cheers, Warren.
  21. waterspray has to be re-filled... thermo fan is less maintenance...
  22. i also played with the idea but went for the FMIC in the end i actually tried to mount one in front of my trannie cooler but it wouldn't fit i used a second-hand thermo fan from a mate's TX% turbo so try to source a cheaper fan first i was going to simply wire it to a switch on the dash so i could just turn it on after/during a spirited drive
  23. well, after a kind soul lended me a set of coil packs, i can cross them off my list as the culprit of my missing problem... here's the previous thread: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=59892 now to try an AFM change... anyone got an rb20 AFM that i could try on my car? i could come over and plug yours in it would only take 30 mins MAX please! i live in taylors lakes (north west) oh, and i would prefer if your car wasn't missing either so that i know its a working AFM... cheers, Warren.
  24. well here's an update... firstly, uLa is a CHAMP and lended me all 6 of his coils i tried them all in varying cylinders and even put all 6 in at once - still the same problem where to now? anyone got an rb20 AFM that i could borrow ASAP to try?? cheers, Warren PS: uLa i'll call you in the next day or two and bring your coils back around...
  25. what boost are you running? could just be a misfire as stated above becuase the clutch fan is in no way connected to how the air/fuel is ignited thus, is probably a coencidence
