  1. sticekrs arrived today.. will take some pics this afternoon with the on to show everyone
  2. hi ash, welcome to the forums, you've made a good choice in considering the V35 it is most definately a suitable family for for everyday use. the best advice that i can provide is to head straight to your local import yard and go and take one for a test drive. much of my advice is personal experience only and views are as always subjective in direct answer to your questions 1. boot capacity on the sednas is huge. exact volume i'm not sure but would be very close to that of a commodore 2. rear reat space is good. not as large as you would find in teh commodore but you will be very surprised how good hte space is, and of course in terms of comfort its much nicer than sitting tin a commodore. i am 6"4 and fit in the back without my head touchingthe roof (when looking for my coupe i also looked at a few sedans) 3. interior trim is one of the best features of the car. interms of looks its up there or better than otehr luxury manufacturers. my cousin has a 2005 audi A4 and rates my interior as much better than hers. its a nissan remember so it is miles ahead of what you will find coming form a commodore and in terms of the older skyline it is again a massive improvement 4. the tiptronic is a gimmick, i hardly use it. but it works well and is a genuine performance advantage if you look to drive that way inclined. how often that occurs in a family sedan is up to you! 5. in terms of ride the V35 is in a totally different class. some have comlained of significant NVH in the V35 but i don't personalyl see it (although idid come from a very noisy R32 so who knows?). in terms of smoothness the car is amazing to drive and handles extremely well. the suspension won't be as soft as in your commodore but it will actually handle well unlike the commodores (it has full aluminium suspension setup and the engien is mounted behind the front axle to give 48:52 weight distribution bettered only by the M3) it is honestly a great car for the price. but, there are a few points that i will add for you to think about in terms of "is this for me?" the V35 sedan comes in many iterations: 250GT, 300GT, 350GT, and 350GT-8 - the 250GT and 300GT are gutless in temrs of straight liner performance compared to the 350GT. not even comparible. and both will be slower than your stagea or commodore. they range from 22k to 30k depending on features. these also mostly come in cloth trim and leather is harder to come by for these models. also, these are all 4sp auto. - the 350GT sedan has got a lot of poke and will be surprisingly quick in a straight line. keep in mind that >95% of the 350GT sedans are actually the 350GT-8 which comes with the CVT transmission. this is an odd thing to drive as you lose all concept of acceleration without having gears. though you do get the paddle shifters and the ability to pop it into 8-speed tiptronic mode if you like. if you can find a 350GT with the 5sp auto then its a winner i personally believe. manual cars are also available but again quite rare. the V35 350GT rages from 25k to 35k depending on options and kms. for this to fall within your budget factoer in finding one with >50,000kms but even still this is great value as the VQ35 engine is almost bulletproof (same engine as 350z, maxima, murano, but with higher power output) the major issues with the car are 1) problems with door lock motors nad windor motor 2) problems with the stock CD player 3) working out a solution for hte sock navigation is not simple ..you can see that these are relatively minor points really check out this thread for some more info that may help: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Newbies-t191705.html there are also many features that can be optioned in and the more you have the better it is. again, the above thread has lots of info. the major options are the "premium pack" which has leather/auto headlights/TV screen/buttons on steering wheel. other options are minor such as 18"/19" wheels etc. i have read the article in HPI and it realyl doesn't highlight the slowness of the 250GT but remember that in terms of everything else its an amazing car well wroth the cash. feel free to ask more Q's or post up cars you are looking at if you want us to critique them cheers, Warren
  3. yeah we're lucky that he is interested in helping us so much, i know he's put quite a few hrs into my car and has done a bit of his own research on the side maybe he can point you in the right direction for a contact in sydney?
  4. nice work andy however it took chris rogers no time at all to snip the parking brake and speed sensor behind the nav unit and i also now have video while driving permanently
  5. i already askes ash a while back about our own for sale section and the mods weren't too keen on it unfortunately
  6. click on the link, then in the top right hand corner enter the 3-letter word that it asks for and it will automatically download its 3.5MB and the max i can upload to a post on SAU is 2MB
  7. newish holden or ford V8 > any stock GTST
  8. the stickers are black andthe lettering is semi-transparent white. this allows light to come through the white lettering on the sticker essentially making it look like a button
  9. yeah the stickers are black i haven't sked him about other colours yet, will do that once the test set arrives..
  10. here's the optional parts catalogue from an 06 skyline that i came across: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=X080Y8EO interesting to see the range of options out there for sedan and coupe enjoy! cheers, Warren
  11. the last pic is hte 100% correct way of having it trim down the hose and it will look a lot more neat also, if i were you i would try to mount it somewhere near the coolant reservoir in the fornt corner of the engine bay.. where you have it now is too close to the turbo and heat + oil is no fun!
  12. cool.. even if they ae shit, for $16 who really cares? i've emailed them my address and will letyou know whenthe soarer set arrives and i'll take some pics hopefully they will make them and put them for sale on eBay thus saving me the hassle of having to organise distributing them all..
  13. here's the link to the soarer ones: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/TOYOTA-SOARER-EMV-E...1QQcmdZViewItem
  14. ok heard back from my lead they are saying $16 for the set they want to send me a soarer set for me to check out and then i'll tell when what words we want on them what does everyone think?
  15. an option
  16. buttons seem to be different with the G35 ones.. some are the same but not all
  17. have a look on the tyre palcard on the drivers side door area should be around 32psi on the 17s and 35psi on the 18s according to my tyre card
  18. i'm keen also as stated.. let me get a further quote from this guy selling them on eBay who imports them from japan also, we need to decide on a definate word for each button as most can only fit a small amount on them i'm thinking.. top row: 1 - nav 2 - split 3 - view 4 - info 5 - map 6 - menu bottom row: 1 - image 2 - tv (or nothing?) 3 - zoom in OR zoom + 4 - zoom out OR zoom - 5 - back any thoughts or changes? cheers, Warren
  19. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/t178000.html http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/t181442.html chris rogers is the man - but its not going to be cheap as its a tricky setup alternatively, 1) find yourself the adaptive cruise control setup from a wrecked V35 in japan.. that's the only cruise control that was factory-fitted in japan 2) find out if the cruise control from the G35 in america can somehow be adapted to the V35 and utilise the steering-wheel controls good luck! Warren
  20. i've contacted a guy on eBay who also sells the soarer ones and he says he is an agent for "brave auto japan" and they make the soarer stickers i have asked him if they make V35 ones and waiting to hear a reply will keep everyone updated
  21. sounds awesome... unfortunately i can't make the 25th as i have plans in the afternoon, but i will come to the meeting point to drool over everyone's cars!!
  22. for HPI.. do you need a standard V35 coupe (with all the options) for a "stock test drive"? as of tomorrow it will also have converted navigation and TV to australian atandard..
  23. re-post, as said seen it a while ago funny shit nontheless
  24. wow, you bought a car without even seeing the interior/engine/etc at all? and without even getting the specs and options of the car? you're right, its impossible to see from those pictures..
  25. no mate, read my above post the 18s are a separate option and have no bearing on whether or not he car has the "premium pack" installed post up some pics of your interior and we'll see if we can tell by the other options...
