Question About A Little Scenario I Have...
WazR32GTSt replied to Sol32's topic in General Maintenance
does it need 5L? my old rb20 only took 4.2L i would imagine you would be fine mixing oils, it is no different to using a bottle of oil additive -
what seat covers are you planning on putting on? btw.. the seats are cloth, not suede

looks good mate, love the colour (called Brilliant Silver)! it might be the most common colour, but i think that's because it is by far the best..!
-
so.. tell us about the car you got.. manual i see. what colour/specs? pics!

first, this is a NA car, so intake mods are not going to do anything for performance. you could route a pipe directly to the atmosphere outside the car with no air filter and you might only gain a maximum of 2 or 3 rwkw. its not like on a turbocharged car where massive gains can be seen. now, the airbox is a great piece of device in general, and the V35 is a good example of these. as you mentioned, there is a good feed of cold air onto the panel from 2 sources, so there's not going to be much to improve on. your idea of a higher-flowing panel filter is a good one, if you feel the need to do something. you definately won't gain any performance from a pod, as heat soak becomes an issue when you remove the airbox. i would suggest you wait and drive the car as it is first. i had planned on getting a panel filter when igot my V35 but after driving the car with one in (i put hte panel from my R32 into the V35) i notivced no difference in performance or sound compared to the stock paper one. so i just left the stock one in. as far as sound goes, again, its a NA car and a free-flowing intake isn't going to make huge sucking sounds like it does on a turbocharged car i would hate for you to have huge expectations of what a "good intake" is going to do and then put one on and notice that for the $200+ you've spent that there is no difference at all.

man that sucks, hope it all works out can you PM me the name os the workshop you took it to initially? cheers, Warren

oh, forgot to mention.. i also had the foot brake adjusted - and boy it needed it!! and i also had the brake fluid flushed, filled with new fluid (i think it was some valvoline stuff) and the system bled brake feel is 100% better now, and the brakes bite much harder. i'm putting this down to the new fluid. only time will tell as to how brake fade and performance is improved with the slotted rotors, but for now its nice to have a perfectly operating brake setup that feels much better than what it was. who knows how long its been since the last brake service??

good news.. just had my brakes all done finally after having everything sitting here for a while gathering dust! everything fitted perfectly, thanks to rs73 for the cheap prices on rotors in the group buy. RDA Rotors I used: Front rotors: part number RDA954 - 296mm x 24mm Rear rotors: part number RDA7657 - 292mm x 16mm Brake pads: Now i was faced with a tough decision here. i don't track the car - its for everyday driving, so i don't need a racing pad that only works at high temps i wanted a good pad that works at all temps, and that is soft enough to not destroy my new rotors after doing some readong on g35driver.com i ended up going with stock nissan pads as although they give a lot of brake dust, they are ideal for what i need. my main consideration is that they are a soft pad and thus don't eat rotors unlike the hawk pads and some other racing pads that i had read about that i don't need at all i got my pads from here: http://stores.ebay.com/Riverside-INFINITI they are an infiniti dealer in Los Angelas but are a trader on the g35driver website (and eBay obviously). i got front and rear pads delivered for approx $100 (i also bought other stuff from them). if anyone is interested i just searched for G35 coupe (non-brembo) pads they are exactly the same also, i can 100% confirm that the rotors are identical between the V35 350GT coupe non-brembo, G35 coupe non-bremob, and the Z33 touring non-brembo EDIT: pics now attached - sorry for the shitty quality they were taken in a rush! cheers, Warren

R32 Type-m Front Bumper
WazR32GTSt replied to cosmokram3r's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
the thing is, the GTR bumper was actually made to match the rest of the car, unlike the bumper you have now compare the typeM bumper to the GTR bumper and you will see that it looks like arse in comparison i bought a second-hand original R32 GTR bumper off the forums for $250 a while back. i know that's cheap, but for even a couple of hundred more you can have the bumper that was designed for that shape and designed to fit a massive FMIC behind it as stock whatever you do, best of luck. -
my suggestions: V35 350GT skyline Audi S4 - that's the 2.7TT version of the A4 Merc CLK320 BMW 330ci clearly the pick of that bunch would have to be the V35.. have a stroll through the V35 section of hte forums for soem more info on exactly how much of a bargain it can be considering the features it packs - or better yet do a google search for reviews on the "infiniti G35 coupe" from the USA (same car but more reviews)

A Christmas Update On Our 2004 M35 Ar-x
WazR32GTSt replied to Muz's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
is it just me, or by the way that tangles82 slips into writing in the first person is it not a good possibility that they are in fact the importer who has logged on to check up on this matter? -
R32 Type-m Front Bumper
WazR32GTSt replied to cosmokram3r's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
if you want the ultimate solution for a FMIC on a GTSt then what you need is an original GTR bumper that's the original nissan plastic front bumper - not the cheap fibreglass copiesthat are made for the GTSt but look like GTR bumpers it bolts to the GTSt without modification, and because the GTR comes standard with a FMIC there is plenty of room for the FMIC you have added plus, in my opinion, its the BEST looking front that any R32 can have (see picture) -
here's my old car that i had a set on (see attached picture) actually, when i sold the car i kept the indicators. send me a PM if you're interested in purchasing my second-hand set. i bought them new off the forums for $250 (from user "Blitz") and had them on the car for about 3 or 4 months.. i forgot to mention.. the bottom buttons will most likely be the same size as the top buttons and will have to be trimmed to fit so that they are not too small. also you can see that the buttons are too grey now, will be changed to black with a matte finish i also posted a pic with the lights on to show that light does come through

just to update and remind everyone this is NOT a group buy, you cannot order these sets from me. i am helping the guy who makes them with the design, he will be selling them from eBay when they are done i recieved the latest test batch, and installed them. the sizes are still a little bit short on some buttons and the colour is not 100% perfect, but a final set is being made to get these little points right. i have attached photo's of how the last batch looks. i would expect a couple of weeks and they will be ready to go and for sale on eBay. i will post the link when its available. just a reminder to all those who did not read the whole thread but are posting that they want to buy a set 1) the sets are being developed, will be a couple of weeks to get the colour/finish/sizing perfect 2) when they are ready i will send YOU a PM telling you 3) i will send and post up a link to the eBay page where they will be sold from thanks, Warren

Skyline R32 Gtst-t "creeking"
WazR32GTSt replied to ezekiel10's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
check your brake pads.. i had this same "creaking" noise on my R32 but could only hear it at low speeds turns out it was the fact that my break pads were so lowthat the pistons in the caliper were creaking from having to move so far to engage the pad! -
The Verdict Slide Hiflow (not Warrantied)
WazR32GTSt replied to R33GOD's topic in General Automotive Discussion
mate i feel for your situation, but i think starting a thread like this is going to do nothing to help you aaron has every right to deal with customer complaints through PM, hell if it were me i wouldn't want my name being dragged through the mud every company has their issues, but airing it on a public forum is not the right thing to do, on top of the fact that it's against forum rules. -
well if nissan australia wants to bring them in they will probably just get the crash test data off nissan japan won't they? rather than having to crash a new set of hand-made GTRs? i thought the only reason we crash cars for compliance here is because nissan/toyota etc are never going to give up their own crash test data to some random across the otehr side of the world..
