Best Way To Repaint Cracked Paint Intake Manifold?
WazR32GTSt replied to Vija's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
you could finish the job and strip all the pain off to make it metallic? its going to be very hard to sand/primer/paint properly with it on the engine and everything in the way.. -
awesome looking car - i love it i really like the series 2 sedan - the front looks like the coupe front more, and the interior is great. does yours have leather or cloth? i would also love to know how much it cost you, feel free to PM me if you're wiling to share that information privately but i understand if you don't wnat to. reason i ask is that my girlfriend will be needing a car by the end of the year... has to be a sedan, safe, powerful, look good to me, the series 2 V35 sedan fits all those perfectly! other options are merc c200k or bmw 325i but both have significantly more kms on them and don't look as good

i've no idea how crucial but if they are fresh i wouldn't bother.. if they haven't been changed since japan then might be worth it

Brake Cylinder Stopper?
WazR32GTSt replied to SS8_Gohan's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
i got an eBay brake stopper for my old R32 and it works great! eBay is ok for static things, ie intercoolers, oil coolers, brake stoppers, strut braces, things that don't move or require moving parts.. a brake stopper is just a piece of metal that is shaped perfectly for your car to get the bolt to line up with the master cylinder good luck, it should work great! -
some rear camera ideas for you: http://g35driver.com/forums/showthread.php...Brear+%2Bcamera if you can afford the stock one shoot a PM to chirs rogers they are well worth it i have been in a car with an aftermarket camera and it just doesn't get the viewing angle right. with the stock one it shows rear as well as down you can come within 1mm of the car behind and still know it, or you can be 5m from them and know that too
-
the RDA is an aftermarket repalcement for the stock rotor ie you take the stock rotor out, and replace it with this rotor. no other changes that i am aware of you should also change your pads when you change rotors.. i had a mechanic install them but it can't be that hard to do yourself if you have the right tools and the patience..

kill the trusty reverse beeper? you're insane! haha chris rogers can source the original stock camera if you want one, otherwise there are a number of aftermarket cameras that work ok (not quite as good image angle or positioning as the stock camera though) but are more discreet than the butt pimple that is the stocker.. there are some cameras that mount to your lisence plate and are very hidden. but, easy to steal, and positioned wrong for the best image when reversing.. now, the most important point, where are the pictures of your car? what options did you get? did you get the battery fixed? did htat fix all your electrical issues?

AFM 100% guaranteed, i had the exact same problem with my old R32 as GTST said, search for "+solder +afm" and you will find your answer good luck!

i'm note sure what people expect from a trade-in? the dealer has to maek money, if they buy your car for 15k when you can't even sell it for that much privately, what's in it for them? the point of a trade-in is that its a car you either can't sell or can't be bothered selling, thus they take it off your hands immediately. the price you pay is that it costs you if you desperately want to sell your R33 and have your mind set on 15k, why not advertise it for 13k, bite the bullet, and sell it within a week or 2

that is not the same intercooler as advertised on their eBay page.. looks like a chopped up regular intercooler, and probably won't flow the best if that is the case is there a palte welded between the 2 holes so that air actually goes through the core of the intercooler?

V35 Skyline Premium Vs Non Premium
WazR32GTSt replied to MFC05's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
to find a sedan in manual is quite rare as it is, i don't think i have ever seen one with the brembo's thus i doubt it was offered to find out for sure, why don;t you check out g35driver.com and see if brembo's were offered on the G35 sedan's that will gve you your answer quicker than we can also, with regards to "premium" packs that are offered, you will findthat most people that advertise don;t even know what the options are. i have seen cars with premium being offered as standard, while others that have no leather being advertised as "premium". -

WazR32GTSt replied to MFC05's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
i htink they are slightly different in design only the "city lights" or "parkers" which run down the side aren't there on the 06 lights, but somewhere else -

is it the plug that goes to the in-cabin temperature sensor?
-
thanks Al! where did you get this info from? who will be displaying it? the birsbane motor show is already finished for 2008 so i don't know why it would be on display in the city but hey i'd go see it!

335s and the 135s both have the inline 6 TT it won best engine of the year for 2007 i think..
-
my mirrors dip already when i put it into reverse, i think its combined in the reversing pack with the camera although interstingly, when chris had my camera disconnected for a while, the mirror dipping still worked.. maybe there is a separate control module or its already got the provision for it as standard on the V35? this was never an option for the G35, thus why KPtechnologies has made that module for them..

i hate holdens.. but this thing looks f***ing amazing! love the steering wheel! and the rims!

looks like the exhaust overheat light there's a sensor in the catalytic converter that detects when the exhaust is overheating (ie touching something and starting a fire) do you have an aftermarket exhaust? have you connected this probe/sensor?

passenger side (LHS) window motor + regulator part no: 80731-CD00A this needs to be changed if your window is intermittantly not working and the door needs to be tapped or closed hard in order for the window to work when you change the motor, you have to re-set the window motor so it knows where the top is: - take the door trim off - close the door and sit inside the car (the door needs to be closed as there is a sensor) - peel back the black sticker almost right in the middle of the door to reveal the reset button - close the window completely - press and hold the button - open the window manually (using the first click not the second click) - when the window has fully opened release the switch then release the button - check that the auto-up now works! this re-set procedure is also useful if your window has the issue of winding half-way down after it hits the top cheers, Warren
