  1. a few points there on the acceleration of 350z and 350gt - taking your username into account i assume you owned a 350GT8 sedan that has the CVT transmission.. this kind of transmission loses the normal concept of acceleration as it has no gears. it feels much slower than it actually is. go drive a 350gt coupe and make a proper comparison - the cars have the same engine and gearbox (in coupe form) and have identical acceleration. both cars weight approximately the same also. - factory 0-100 km/h claims for both cars in 2003 were 6.1 seconds for 350z (australian version) and 6.0 seconds for V35 coupe (japanese version) so these back-up that they are almost identical.. simple as that. the V35 is essentially are a 350z with 4 seats and more luxurious interior. for a cheaper price. the only trade-off is that the 350z looks nicer imo
  2. nice idea - i wanted to do this to my auto trans cooler when i had my R32 but couldn't fit a fan to it given where it was mounted... my idea was to wire it co come on with a switch or with the standard radiator fan to cool it when at idle (eg in traffic on a hot day), and let it go off when the car was cruising
  3. these kind of systems are becomign standard on many cars don't some ferrari's offer it? i know for the V35 sedan when purchasing the sport exhaust in japan you had the option of this kind of valve..
  4. agree - hate to see a nic car hacked up for no good reason you should ask high 30s for it and stick at it most of the V35's advertised for low 30s have no leather/bose/premium setup. the sunroof is a bonus. blue will probably make it harder to sell though as its not a popular colour.
  5. can i ask - what have you planned? do you have a stock screen? you know, if you have the stock screen you could just run an aftermarket headunit hidden somewhere (eg under the seat or in the boot) and run it in through the aux in on the screen - saves you having 2 screens for no reason (i assume with the double din setup you are after somethign with video capabilities)
  6. hey chirs, can't get onto you (tried calling and SMS), how's the car coming along?
  7. you'd be absolutely stupid not to get it put in and then run on a dyno to check AFRs running it onthe dyno would only cost $50 or so, if its just a simple power run with AFRs so i'd recommend any workshop with ECU capabilities that also has a dyno.. eg mercury motorsport, GT auto, milennium motorsports
  8. damn.. good luck with village nissan - hope they can offer some help what do you think the issue is? something else in the G35 that is needed to control it? if it fails, could the steering buttons be hooked up to an aftermarket cruise control so that it operates using the buttons, but controls the car like something that is known to work?
  9. wow that was quick! i didn't realise you were going to work on it tonight! man that looks awesome, i so hope this works..
  10. sounds like that movie with ben stiller.. also sounds like generalised anxiety disorder what's the bst way to minimise risk? go to an import dealer that has already gone through the hassle of doing the importing process and buy a freshly imported car off their yard. yes it might cost you a few thousand more but that's the price to pay to reduce risk. the car will already be complied and ready to register in this case.
  11. from my post in the other thread: the only cruise that was offered on the V35 was the active cruise in the sedans i posted a pic in another thread.. will attach it again.. the car has an IR display on the front grille and has different lights in the instrument cluster.. the cruise from the G35 is a normal cruise system from what i have read on G35driver
  12. i go by whatever the tyre placard says as that's what the police/insurance companies look at
  13. *cough* BS *cough* no but seriously.. there's no evidence that ionising the air does anything more than you cna achieve by scratching your balls while facing north with one arm out the window
  14. spotted an awesome silver V35 with stock 18s on edmonstone road in newstead (qld) today, they were going down into teneriffe.. anyone here?
  15. what's the issue with them in the wet? what i meant to say before was that i had them on my R32 when i was running 18" rims on that and the NS2 is a good allround tyre. dry its great, wet its great. better than many more expensive tyres. there are by far worse/cheaper alternatives out there (eg wanli, clear, simex, falken) remember that each company makes a range of tyres form good to bad. the NS2 is the top-of-the-range nankang and is much better than the NS1 which weren't good at all and what many people think of when they hear nankang remember also that nankang are made by yokohama
  16. the nankang NS2 tyres aren't bad at all.. don't worry
  17. hmmm that's interesting as i am 6"4 and also have it fully lowred.. maybe there's a trend? i might try moving the position around first
  18. done. let's hope this works!
  19. funky, how we going with the FS section?
  20. chris, next week is fine. i am busy 8-5 all days but i can drop the car around sunday night if that suits and pick it up when its done after uni? how long would you want it?
  21. problem with the GT8 shifters is that they are expensive (new $1400!) i scourered importers for ages in aust and couldn't find a wrecked one.. also no paddles to be found on yahoo auctions.. otherwise i would have snapped them up!
  22. so a guy in the USA on G35driver.com has finally decided to sell the paddle shift kit he was makign for the G35 and V35.. for a while it looked like he pulled out but has finally offered it if he gets 10 people it uses paddles from a G37/V36/R35 skyline linked with a custom control box.. unfortunately he is selling the kit which included brackets, paddles, and control box for $750! i thought i would post it up in case anyone was interested. i was keen, but at that price i'm not so sure anymore.. the thread: http://g35driver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=183031 the paddles: the shifters on their own are $150 retail maybe there might be a cheaper solution? heaps of others in the USA have adapted the paddles themselves without any kit.. chris, interested in working out your own brackets and control box ? haha nah i know you have a lot on your plate right now.. anyway thought i would post it in case others were interested cheers, Warren
  23. just for efveryone's reference, the only cruise that was offered on the V35 was the active cruise in the sedans i posted a pic in another thread.. will attach it again.. the car has an IR display on the front grille and has different lights in the instrument cluster.. the cruise from the G35 is a normal cruise system from what i have read on G35driver http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...t&id=151333 http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...t&id=151334
  24. well i can get a new battery for the american junk this weekend, and could, say get the car to you sunday night for you to have for mon/tues? maybe wed? maybe you can do the image button also in that time? let me know if that suits... very very very small chance that when i get my timetable tomorrow it won't work but that's a 0.001% chance
