  1. i add roughly 4.2L just add about 3L to begin with, then add 200mL at a time, giving it a minute before checkign the dipstick between each pour. you can't go wrong that way i'd say the fact that its a rb24 shouldn't make a difference, but the oil cooler would add a little to the capacity.. might add about 200mL more good luck, Warren
  2. might be a sticker or plate on the inside of the rim i just bought some volk challenge f-zero rims and they had stickers on the inside with "rays" and "volk" etc with specificatiosn and stuff written on the stickers...
  3. have you taken your drivers door off recently? did something happen / you do somethign to your car about the same time this all started happening?
  4. sr20 in an R33 is like taking an 18" rim and modifying it to become a 15" rim... why? no, really, why? cheaper parts? no more power? no
  5. my mate with the NA zed has a heavily modified machine.. head ported + polished extractors twin cats and twin exhaust pod larger intake pipes larger throttle bodies (there's 2 of of them also...) unichip and more but i don't remember what else 155rwkw (manual trans) that's a pretty decently modified NA machine.. all that's really left to do would be cams / gears which at best could see 170-180rwkw and that's a 3L engine, not a 2.5L like the rb25de.. 500cc makes a huge difference
  6. an NA V8 maybe.. not an NA 6 best i've seen is a mate of mine with an NA 300zx who has 155rwkw with a hell of a lot of mods... as said above, i've got an rb20det for my 170rwkw with FMIC, 3" exhaust, 14psi, rb25 turbo, cams+gears (as far as engine mods go anyway)
  7. all fits well with no toruble of any kind on the front or rear apparently rolling diameter is out by 6-7mm so shouldn't be a problem also, 9" wide on the rear just fits inside the rear guard.. i might think about getting the guard roller to be safe, but it definately fits in stock form this is all with standard suspension / ride height thanks to all for your help, especially salad cheers, Warren
  8. R32 master brace $65: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Nissan-Skyline-BNR3...1QQcmdZViewItem R33 master brace $50: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Nissan-Skyline-R33-...1QQcmdZViewItem delivered to your door in a week... for less than half the price i don't see the problem.... apparently they have a warehouse with stock in melbourne if they are out of stock it comes from hong kong Warren.
  9. my brakes don't feel soft at all... my setup, which i had done about a month ago, is: - stock rotors and calipers - bendix ultiamtes - motul fluid - master cylinder brace ($65 from ebay!) i can highly recommend a master cylinder brace / brace cylinder stopper link for my BCS: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Nissan-Skyline-BNR3...1QQcmdZViewItem R33 ones are only $50 from that seller: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Nissan-Skyline-R33-...1QQcmdZViewItem
  10. you might have a gtr indicator...
  11. they do... all rb's have the same coils
  12. my engine is not stock and i'm running 14psi through a motor with 150,000kms on it plus it has engine-bling factor which i also desired if you re-read the first post, you will realise that this guy is under the impression that a catch can is a necessary modification for his car based on what his mate told him.. this is not the case which i have been trying to point out of course if your motor is stuffed it doesn't matter what mods you have it will still be useful but not necessary - a rebuild will be necessary in that case anyone disagree? havign a good discussion is great...
  13. ok so what salad said was 100% correct i have booked in to get 225/40/18 and 255/35/18 tomorrow... getting nankang NS2 tyres due to price constraints - bloody 18s are expensive to get tyres for! thanks all for your help i shall post when they are on to let you know how it goes with fitting.. cheers, Warren
  14. exactly.. as with most things to do with cars, most people don't know what they are doing or talking about i'm the first to admit if i don't know what's going on but in this case i know that a catch can does pretty much SFA on a stock engine. hell even on mine which is mildly modified i have not had any oil ever in my catch can
  15. its actually an auto gear knob but without the o/d button which i have relocated myself to the side
  16. don't think weight will be a problem with my rb20/auto combo as the wheels i just bought tonight are Volk challenge F-zero rims and are lighter than teh stock wheels!! thanks for the help everyone.. will psot how i go tomorrow when i go looking for tyres
  17. i said "exhaust + timing" i went from having severely retarted timing and stock exhaust to having 3" dump/front and 3" cat-back (Stock cat). also fixed up the timing back to normal 20deg BTDC for the auto ECU that took me from 106rwkw to 132rwkw
  18. in a healthy engine hardly any oil should go into the intake if its a stock unmodoified car then don't worry about it if its a modded car with FMIC runnign 14psi then might be worth it just to keep an eye on blowby.. money can be better spent elsewhere for your situation
  19. its alright, they are sold to me anyway.. i'm going to pick them up tonight!
  20. leave o/d on... why? because if you're on the throttle in first/second then its not going to be engaged anyway.. and when you finish the quarter you want to be able to drop into 4th to cruise back to the pits... i also leave power off, as it comes on automatically anyway!
  21. ok next question... what tyres fit on 18*8 and 18*9 rims to keep the stock rolling diameter on the R32? cheers, Warren
  22. contrary to what blind_elk has aid, i leave mine on always. i give it 30sec after each drive regardless of how i've been driving am i an idiot? am i impatient? no and no i just care about my car... you should too, astro_r33
