  1. ok so i should get the wheels fitted by the tyre place when i get them balanced and an allignment done and they will take care of crap like that?
  2. so you want to ask if you need one? the answer is no, you don't need one
  3. you could try borrowing comeone's stock ECU from their car, plugging that in and seeing if the problem goes away...
  4. unfortunately there's not the knowledge out there to do that with the auto computer... not like they do with commonwhores and falcons everyone that tunes skylines focuses on manuals unfortunately!
  5. yeah could still be coilpacks maybe if you can find a spare set try changing them all and see how it drives.?
  6. so you have dyno results to proce this 20% power claim? i had an MA70 supra 3L non-turbo went from stock to aftermarket exhaust and hardly noticed a difference on my R32 turbo, noticed a HUGE difference as shown by an increase from 106rwkw to 132rwkw from exhaust and timing change if its "one of the dumbest things you've ever heard" then you must have your head in the sand yes an NA car will get more power with an xhaust but its won't givve the same power gains that you will get with a turbocharged car
  7. but they're police... they're above those petty laws that we breatheren have to stick to.. or so they think so! morons..
  8. looking at a set of wheels for my R32 GTSt my car is the stock ride height with stock calipers/discs wheels i'm looking at are: front: 18*8 +32 rear: 18*9 +40 will they fit without modification to the guards? PS i have looked through the stick where people are posting offsets etc. but was still unsure! thanks, Warren
  9. for the connector, you have to check inside the AFM you can open it up and ckeck the joints that exit the AFM. there are 4 solder joints that are known to fail over time also, the coil packs can sometimes look ok but have a fine hairline crack. try covering them with silicone or epoxy before putting them back in cheers, Warren
  10. wasn't it your dad's car?
  11. www.justjap.com you can't go wrong with justjap - great quality and even better customer service..
  12. will these fit on a stock R32GTSt? or do the guards need to be rolled? cheers, Warren
  13. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...mp;hl=shift+kit as per my review above, i can highly recommend the MV automatics stage 2 shift kit... oh, and just for your info, a "valvebody upgrade" and "shift kit" are the same thing
  14. exhausts sound different on different cars.. if you're after a quiet exhaust then basically you want to look as the muffler and resonator muffler: the biggest body you can get with the smallest inlet/outlet that you need to match the rest of the system resonator: as above, but you want to get a big one again.. don't forget the resonator or your eardrums will cross you off their cristmas card list
  15. well firstly on the temp gauge thing.. there's 2 temp sensors.. one for the ECU and one for the gauge if you follow the upper radiator hose into the engine just in front of the intake manifold you will see 2 plugs. are they both plugged in? now as for the "running bad" that you describe.. i can suggest to check the following common things that cause missing like that - coils (may have a faulty one or may have a crack on one of them) - air flow meter (may have a worn contact in it or it might not be plugged in properly!) best of luck Warren
  16. i agree.. aftermarket ECU fo shizzle
  17. you're all forgetting something guys... what about "wastegate creep"? yes a boost controller and exhaust will both work to increase MAX boost level, BUT with a full exhaust, the wastegate still creeps open at low-mid rpm giving you a gradual increase in boost a boost controller stops any manifold pressure getting to the wastegate actuator until max pressure, so it will build boost faster than simply having a free-flowing exhaust of course having a boost controller with no aftermarket exhaust is also kind of stupid as throwing all that exhaust gas into a restrictive pipe isn't going to yeild as much power so why bother upping the boost at all? Warren.
  18. yeah but if anything that would make the figures more realistic.. its when IT is way higher than AT that you see higher figures, so with the values around the same the computer won't apply much (any?) correction...
  19. as above the cas controls that base timing. it should be at 15deg BTDC which is usually about in the middle of its range of movement..
  20. here the link: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...st&id=45008
  21. firstly, great that your car doesn't have airbags, that means that any aftermarket wheel is ok (if you have airbags yo have to replace with an airbag wheel) now you do need a boss kit. see all stering wheels have a universal mounting system so basically the boss kit is a small bit of metal that bolts to the skyline steering column on one side and has the universal bolt pattern on the other side. they can be had for about $80 or so at supercheap, or $50 or so on ebay now for steering wheels... i personally found one on ebay as i loved the design and couldn't find it anywhere else! a decent one can be had for $100 and the quality is great. pics are attached. you can probably get the boss kit and steering wheel from the same place even! good luck! Warren
  22. i'm after help from those that have an aftermarket oil pressure gauge (OPG) so after getting fed up with teh stock OPG i decided to get an electrical aftermarket OPG so that i can actually know what my oil pressure is! its pretty easy to install from what i see.. sandwich plate goes inbetween oil filter OPS attached onto sandwich plate sensor wire runs to gauge presto! wiring is simply also: +12V for light +12V for gauge ground sensor wire problem is that the back of the OPS where the sensor wire should attach is quite weird.. its simply a thin thread like the threaded end of a thin bolt how am i supposed to attach the wire? wrap the wire around and screw a nut onto it to hold it? or is there something that i'm missing?? help! cheers, Warren
