nissan datascan is a program on my laptop.. anyone out there actually know what they are talking about here?

OK so a while back, i started playing around with the settings in Nissan Datascan Then it stopped showing the sensors, despite everything else working.. wasn't sure what caused this so tried playing around with the settings i accidentally changed to COM port to 4, and now when i tart it up, it says "runtime error 8002: wrong port" and then it closes down so i can't change back to COM port 1 !!! i tried uninstallingthe program, resetting, then re-installing, but it retains the old settings rather than reverting to default settings! can anyone help me?? cheers, Warren

please tell me you are tuning this on the dyno and not going to just let them be at their current setting....

where was the TPS before and after you adjusted it?

i agree, they made a good improvement on my rb20.. not top end, but between 5-20rwkw in the midrange... from what i have heard, however, they are less effective with an rb25

i downshift manually sometimes GTST... but only at low speeds... trans cooler was an item from supercheap for $100ish. its mounted on the drivers side of the front bar, in a mirrored position to the stock intercooler.. works well i think definately a DIY job.. very easy to install in about 2 or 3 hrs as for gearbox services, i always take it to a mechanic.. will be able to comment on shift kits in a couple of weeks when my high-stall converter and stage 2 shift kit arrives

stock bumpers = polyurethane of course fibreglass doesn't crack unless its been stressed... but there's no doubt that its brittle.. even the stress of the chassis flexing when cornering over a long period of time can show on thin bumpers... FRP sounds great.. anyone in oz make kits out of this??

i have a custom exhaust 3" mandrel-bent mild steel 1 * x-force 3" cat 1 * 3" large resonator (straight through) 1 * 3" cannon muffler (stright through) very quiet and no drone at all noise at WOT and power exceptional plus, its custom for my car no scraping on the ground...

everyone is missing the point here... HE WANTS TO ADUST HIS TIMING BELT WITHOUT ADJUSTIBLE CAM GEARS that's right, with stock gears this is NOT possible. please DON'T do it. ditch the idea completely. That is all.

thanks mate i never venture down areound that area of the engine bay as there's not much there to fiddle with othe than changing the fuel/oil filter...

hang on are you saying you want to buy cam gears and adjust them one notch... or are you saying that the alternative to buying cam gears is to skip one tooth on the stock gears?? each tooth is 15deg, so skipping one tooth, as you say, will make it way way out and is a stupid idea

so where in the engine bay is the starter motor and what does it look like? any idea on its plug/wiring setup?

if that were the problem, then it would crank but not start mine doesn't crank at all, like what would happen if there was an immobiliser on or something.. turn and nothing...

lag is subjective... in my opinion, all turbo's are laggy on an rb20.. in someone else's opinion, a t88 on an rb20 is not laggy.. make up your own mind, but remember the theory.. you are going up more than one turbo size with the vg30 on rb20 so don't expect it to be the same without major modification to other things to make it come on boost earlier...

so nissan officially advertised a series 1.5 skyline? i was under the impression that it was an aftermarket classification to fill the gap and make late nmodel series 1 cars more appealing, when really they are just a late model series 1. the only official nissan releases were sries 1 and 2

yeah you have to get an aftermarket wheel that has an airbag in it if your original wheel has one...

can someone post a pic of the starter motor location? i want to check its connection... i recently has a walbro pump installed, and when i turn the ignition during prime sometimes i get nothing for a couple of seconds before it turno over but once prime has finished it cranks straight away.. then again, sometimes it cranks fine! only happened post-install of walbro by worksho[ cheers, Warren

series 1.5? ppppffffffffff its a series 1 with nice trim.. don't get sucked in.. they will try to get more cash for it

there's no such thing as a "high-flow" cat that is 2.25" in diameter a high-flow simply means that its 3" so that it can flow more good luck

what state are you in? its easiest to enquire in teh state-specific sections unless you are willing to drive across the country for a respray
