  1. RED is ALWAYS positive BLACK is ALWAYS negative so check your black is grounded and the other wise (if its not red, whatever colour it is) is to the positive wire you always need a multimeter if doing any kind of electrical work - a good investment
  2. 5 seconds is way too long for it to be normal something is wrong yes, a valve body will make it change faster, but something is going wrong there.. if fluid level is normal, then take it to a transmission specialist ASAP
  3. bluesky4me... you mean that when you put you foot down, it holds all the way to to 7500rpm or even more before changing? ather than changing at like 7000rpm where the redline begins? if so, this is normal.. if not, i don't know what you mean
  4. i feel for you man... hope it works out ok
  5. without fixing the problem directly, all you are doing is a band-aid approach an oil catch can would work fine.. what's wrong with our home-made can with the gatorade bottle? if it works, then leave it alternatively, i bought one from jusjap for $80ish and it works fine..
  6. one question... why? the bores are completely different for a start
  7. nissan maxima had gold badges options: - go to nissan, say you have a maxima and want a gold nissan badge - go find a maxima in a carpark and return the favour <-- this option not recommended
  8. AT = 27 IT = 39 doesn't seem right... with a FMIC these should be about the same... this probably is making your figure about 10-15rwkw over what it should be otherwise its a pretty good result
  9. well i have spoken to a good mate who is a member of aus300zx.com he said he changed to the VDO sensor and it failed in 4 months then he changed to the stock sensor and it has been ok for about 6 months so far BUT.. he did some kind of electrical modification to the OPS before he putit back on apparently (according to him) there's 2 plugs on the OPS, but the stock wire only connects to one of them He grounded the other plug to the chassis... and he hasn't had a problem since... apparently an autoelectrician told him to do this I want to try it out, but haven't had time to try and get to the OPS
  10. well spokt to some people who have done this on their 300zx, and they have confimed that te unit does work fine, but still suffers from the same problem as the stock OPS this leads me to believe that the problem is not the OPS unit itself, but something aboutthe way it is mounted or connected
  11. at the end of the day, its all an excuse for poor driving.. i don't mean to attack you, its just how i feel hope it desn't happen again
  12. i don't understand the point... what's wrong with the just jap cooler?
  13. Do R31 skylines suffer from oil pressure gauge problems also?
  14. ok more bad news.. the moron at VDO who is emailing me, still insists they don't have a OPS for us he won't confirm that the 300zx sender works at all.. he is dodging the question coz he is a f**king moron i'll have to do some more searching i think is it 100% confirmed that its the same sensor for 300zx/R32/R33?? what about any other nissans thanks
  15. grrrrrrrrrrrr the guy from VDO emailed again, and even with the nissan part number that i gave, he still says there is no VDO item! I gave him the part number that was in the aus300zx.com website to see if he has that in his stupid computer. i have no idea why its not coming up as a listing... will keep you posted. Warren
  16. finding out.. will post info soon
  17. hell yeah!! thanks heaps guys! that means the part number for the VDO item is the same as for 300zx, which is $60! stay posted while i find out more info...
  18. cheers, hang on i'll get mine... VIN: 6T91MPV97X2JFX011 HCR32-286947 can you do a fast screen capture on the car info as well, please
  19. not sure how the FAST program works.. but can it give part numbers? I'm after the part number for the standard rb20det oil pressure sender unit also, want to know if its the same part for any other nissans eg 300zx or R31 skyline thanks, Warren
  20. OK bad news team.. VDO don't have a listing for the rb20det BUT... not to despair just yet.. i think that's because they don't know what our original part is, rather than they don't have a replacement for our original part i'm sure, as with everythign else, that these parts were used on many nissan models. if i can get a part number, maybe i can find another car (eg 300zx or R31 skyline) that has the same unit and they might actually have a listing for that car..... sav_man do you have a part number for the nissan part? or anyone else? cheers, Warren
