again taken from GCG website.
here is a link to the Garrett Product catalogue: http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarre...7%2017%2013.pdf (right click - save as) its 2.8mb
In there is clearly lists the different models, their model name (ie GT35R) and the specs available to the turbo. Might be worth looking at by someone with more knowledge than me
Ok this info is from GCG: note the 1.06 AR exh hsg
Garrett GT35R Ball Bearing Turbo:-
$2960.00
Aftermarket Applications
P/No #GSB8007
Rated 700hp
Spec's:-
1.06a/r Turbine Housing (4 bolt outlet)
0.70a/r Compressor Housing
Watercooler Centre
52 Trim Compressor Wheel (T04S)

84 Trim Turbine Wheel
Now Ray Hall website:
Turbo| Part# | CHRA # |AR |Trim |model | wheel diam|lb flow|AR |Trim |Wheel diam
GT35 |714568-0001| 706451-0005| 0.70| 56 |GT40 | 2.41/3.22 |60 |1.06| 84 | 2.45/2.68
Ray hall seems to use a "GT40" comp wheel with the 56 trim, where as the GCG one uses a T04s wheel with the 52 trim.
After looking at the Garrett catalogue the GCG specs are GT35, the Ray hall specs are GT35R
this is all i have found so far.. still researching suitable turbos
***Be Warned***
this was also posted on boostcruising... and by the looks of it there are going to be alot of people going just because they can.
And there is limited space around GRP so i cant see any more than 30 fitting in all too well unless you drive around the other industrial sheds. Theres no where to park on a normal business day usually
having said that Dean and Aaron who run the place are top blokes
try and get a better oil return. Mine is still rubber like that, but i was told that the 1 item you shouldnt skimp on is the oil return
nice braided oil feed !
didnt the early soarers come with a 1G-GTE ? 2L 6 twin turbo ?
3L NA would be a 7M-GE
might be an indea to clarify which model soarer you are looking at..
not yet, havent been back there, and probably wont till my RB30DET is completed. To me the car is fine to drive daily, and if you need power on tap to overtake... just drop down a gear
i too am interested to see what it *would* do
would something like this be classed as "street suitable", but with enuff power that you are chasing
i had a hole in a cooler hose as you can see boost dropped off. That was 15psi max... and if you bumped that to about 17psi...
yeh i am pretty sure brakes come under the modifications that require a mod plate.
I will get mine done on the same mod plate once i get the new engine in.
just the brakes.
your diff will well and truley be good enuff, if its LSD then its the R200 which will stand up to a bit of power!
you'll have to change the hubs/rotors to get the 5 stud.
1. Rb20 radiator should be fine
2. yes they should mount to the same place on teh rb25 engine
3. dont run more than 12psi and ya should be ok, factory cooler sucks
4. no will fit original RB mounts
5. it would be wise to upgrade the brakes, even to R32 calipers/discs/ and hubs (5 stud)
6. yes
7. if its LSD... yesm
true... You will need to source yourself an R32 GTR Speedo drive as they are mechanical. And then i think you use the RB25 sender on the end of this to fit the gearbox. This should get it all linked up to the R31
you also have a PM
run the rb20 box, as long as you treat it nice it should hold up for a while.
i know a car that has 340rwkw and run a 10.10@142mph and runs a stock RB20DET 5pd
Sydneykid, how do you go about fitting the rb26 inlet to the rb25? do the ports line up and/or are there any problems that need to be worked around?
also how do you go about controlling the 6 throttle bodies? would that create any hassles?
thanks
Dave
just mount 2 of the suckers as close to the throttle body on the intake side of the intercooler... closer to the throttle body the better in my opinion
Sorry to chop you mate but...
aside from that... we are not discussing who's bov is louder. we are discussing whether you need an aftermarket bov or if the factory item will suffice.
i have ran and held 17psi all the way thru the rev range on a TD06 equipt RB20DET with stock bov. If it leaks.. maybe.. but its still holding 17psi boost all the way
