  2. so i'll post again
  3. i need more points
  4. How does the theif function work?
  5. Here is an image from the pdf... will edit post when i find pdf online EDIT: here's the link to the latest pdf... I advise you right click - save target as... it is pretty big and takes a while to load if you just click the link http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarre...7%2017%2013.pdf
  6. Bingo! exactly what i reckon. As for the 'R' just download the Garrett pdf and it states all.. If my acrobat would let me select the text i'd copy it word for word
  7. please just open the garrett catalogue and look at the damn definitions The "R" Denotes the 'rolling' element found in garrett single cartridge, dual ball bearing hi performance turbos. GT35/40 is another naming convention made up by suppliers which has been discussed in the R33 RB30 conversion thread... Why bother arguing, just look up the catalogue and match it to what you are buying. Internal gate is 'bad' as it wont be as effective at controlling boost as an external larger diameter wastegate would be... Sure you could do it if you really wanted to, but you would benefit from using these turbos the way they are meant to be run.. with custom manifolds and external wastegates
  8. Happy days Back on topic... ... GT35R's seems to be nice turbos suited for an RB30DET
  9. Trev, Screenie makes me a happy kid.. when do you expect to get them and send them out??
  10. Ok copy from Ray Halls site: Order is: Model: Part#: CHRA#: AR: Trim: Model: diam: HP: lbs flow: AR: Trim: diam GT35 714568-0001 706451-0005 0.70 56 GT40 2.41/3.22 700 60 1.06 84 2.45/2.68 GT35 714568-0002 706451-0005 0.70 56 GT40 2.41/3.22 620 60 0.83 84 2.45/2.68 GT35 714568-0003 706451-0005 0.70 56 GT40 2.41/3.22 550 60 0.63 84 2.45/2.68 Pretty decent listing there
  11. Hye Trev, The 'R' just means ball bearing in garretts definition... The lack of an 'R' is more than likely just lazyness rather than anything significant. Dont go by GCG's site. Check out ray halls site he a more comprehensive specs page. also the 700hp rating is for the top spec GT35R.. ie the 1.06 exh housing
  12. Gradenko.. stay tuned because i have a GT35r with 0.82 exh housing... hopefully it will spool up quickly and hold good torque throw the entire rev range, tho i thought it might be a bit too small to reach high 400 low 500hp@wheels
  13. thats a tempting offer calvintys! you have pm. a_v_i: i am not looking to spend too much on a stock fuel rail.. how much do you want ?
  14. just chasing a top feed fuel rail really. Something larger than an RB20 fuel rail. Anyone got something suitable and reasonably priced. Cheers
  15. I well know the difference and facts , i was more questioning why you would want an HKS turbo for almost twice the price and less potential i too think intergates on larger turbos are a waste of time... if you aer going for a large HP flow tubo, use an external gate. Monsta: external venting wastegates (ie screamer pipe) are illegal. But external wastegates that are plumbed back into the exhaust are perfecly fine and legal *in most sates that arent overly nazi on mods
  16. Nothing naughty about external wastegates at all. And like GiJOr33 said.. if you are going for such a turbo why not take advantage of it and use an custom manifold.. for the record garret GT35's can be had for $2000, brand spanking new. *looks at GT35R *
  17. what are the advantages of a HKS 3037 vs say a garret GT30, GT35?.. seeing tho price wise its $1500!
  18. Hey guys, I received this email from a very helpful guy at Hardy Spicer. He raises some good points to consider:
  19. was that in shootout mode??
  20. Erin you might be able to answer this: it says the costs is $4400 to hire the track. 60 competitors. $73.50 each is fair enough. But the willowbank guy says that spectators should be charged $15 to offset this price. So correct me if i am wrong... but with $60 competitors paying their $73.50 to make the $4400... that would mean that every single spectator after contributing $15 for no reason. Maybe i am missing something, But charging people extra money for a track that has been booked and paid for in full... that is one thought, my other thought is that spectators just pay to enter the private property, if this is the case, the $4400 track fee is paid by competitors, then i think the spectator fee should be lowered. And having said all that i would be keen to participate if my car is complete ... time to take down some r33's EDIT: *** This post was not intended as starting a shit fight or bagging boostcruising or the people involved in hosting the event. I infact applaud the people responsible for such an opportunity. Just asking some questions to satisfy my over working brain ***
  21. well i have a HR31 passage... Its RWD and has the IRS/LSD rear end. I am not too sure how it is mounted etc hence why i asked the question. But having a think about it i can see how the 2 piece would work with the diff when it moves up and down. I am nearing the stage where i'll need to get the yoke and tailshaft mated to each other, so this information is pretty valuable to me
  22. ok.. so when using a RWD (RB25det 5spd) on a car equipped with the IRS (R200) rear end... you DONT want to use a single piece tailshaft ??
  23. holy crap this is old! That setup was sold ages ago!!!
  24. hahaha umm... no, it wont be suitable for my application you can buy my old 5psd if you want
  25. i would have bought this complete for the advertised price if someone replied to me
