  1. is this restricted to nissans only or are the locals attending in the commodores?? last thing I want to do is drive 4000km to watch a commodore do a skid.. ( I can watch that locallly at kalbar autofest.)
  2. contact dotars (DIT) and tell them the story- don't expect sympathy though. you could well end up with a track only car.
  3. this is why I remove them : given most of these cars are 8-10 yrs old now those things work loose and create a LOT of headaches. of the units I have pulled out there was no adjustment on them and on at least two of hte variants I have pulled out one of them cuts the CAN lines with scotch locks!! take that how you will but given the amount of crap I see on a daily basis the last thing I want is scotch locks (the blue things in that imgae for those of you not paying attention) cutting the main comms network in my car. the image in question was a V35.
  4. ok , when you bough it did you get ANY of the import paperwork with it? if so contact a RAW that can comply your type of car and tell them the story. www.raws.com.au will give you a starting point. if NOT then you have a track pig only. it cannot be registered here.
  5. gt motors - bowen hills - frank 3252-4928 he does that sort of thing. best to see him in person though with decent images of what you are wanting done OR get him to look at it in person. some of that looks structural though.
  6. depends on the RAW involved. most of the cars I have done from 2007-> now, I have pulled anything aftermarket OUT as it gave grief eventually due to scotch locks working loose. by rights anything imported after Jul 2001 was SUPPOSED to have an oz stds immobiliser fitted or have an exemption in the evidence submitted at the time. due to the amount of 'cheap' copmpliance work that was done a lot of the cars missed this point. if its not there and you have your car insured with a specialist insurer it may pay to read teh fine print. if you still have the dealer fitted one there - do our self a favor and get it pulled out before it strands you in the middle of no where. @leon, I'm not a charity , working on jap cars is how I make my living, - if you have something to say - say it, or forever hold your peace
  7. are you brissy based? if so I can probably help in a way. whn you bough it was it registered at all or had it been through registration? do you have a chassis number at all?
  8. i do bits/pieces for them. cost though may scare you
  9. adam, call me re navi. would like to talk to you and the fellow involved. if you are looking at them buy a NON navi one. its a LOT easier to screw with.
  10. if I looked at that right you have to pay for the DL.
  11. not in those. are you SURE that its not a bose unit? look under the rear shelf for a black box. if its there then you have an amplifier in there.
  12. they have trade plates just like the rest of us. think you best have a read of the rules. if its not complied then it is not for use on Oz roads and therefore illegal to use a trade plate on. that does not stop people from doing it.
  13. ok I'm not familar with this one. where is it?
  14. drivers side inner wheel well.
  15. some do some do not.
  16. listen to chef. unless you have a trade plate handy AND you are willing to risk a $25k fine for using it on a uncomplied vehicle its really NOT worth the effort. pay the towie pay the RAW and enjoy..
  17. not quite look is the same - PCD is 5x100 and a +20ish offset. (I will have to measure my suby..)
  18. find the G37 service manual. that system requires the vehicle to be sitting still with the handbrake on for video to work. think about that
  19. no offence meant here but there is AT least 8-10K of damage there if you are paying someone to fix it. that is good for a parts car unfortunately.
  20. done. just a reminder : if you have a uhf radio - bring it. leave your silly side at home
  21. probably not a bad idea. tell me where and I'll drive up. sorry I missed you on thurs. business meeting took a bit longer than usual.
