  1. run home was good. no traffic like usual on a sunday. what did everyone think overall? personally there were a few mistakes on my part. which I will correct on the next cruise. the ending I got a bit out of whack as I was trying to raise the other two cars via two way and missed a turn. the UHF radio that I had (thanks andrew!!!) were commercial items . range was great ontehm as I was talking to brad and andrew whilst they were still on the hill whilst john and I were already on the flats. I had not idea what band they were on but it was not the 460mhz band. for the 3 of us using them they worked well and kept car spacing fairly even. not sure what was happening on ch8 UHF. the road to hunchy (razorback rd) was a blast when I did it in the van and a HELL of a lot better in a R32. the astra driver that was in front of us realised quite quickly that there were a lot of cars behind him and moved out of the way. I had a blast and I know that John (isola) was having his share of fun as well. colin you are a mad man !! thanks for the support from the SAU team and you guys!!! without you it would not have happened. keep watching as there is another in the works!! I have a SW and border run already in the mix. border run has already been mapped all I have to do is set a weekend aside to finalise the run before opening it up to the public. for the next one I will have a 5w hand held UHF and the commercial units. keep the feedback coming!!
  2. perfect temp for a run in the hills
  3. I would hit up northfield or GCCS southport. remind me and I'll talk to GCCS if you like.
  4. part of the reason I pointed it out. I can see the factory terminal low right corner but IF that battery moved an inch to the righ then that car is going to go up in flames. sorry but looking at it from my POV thats what I see. those batteries pack a fairly strong punch when shorted..
  5. that should get sideways in pretty much every gear - mate of mine had one that was done with the same setup.
  6. your one I can get sorted legally I bet. needs a height adjustment though. as for defects - give someone time or a reason and they will find a way to nail you.
  7. bring them but remind them to leave the idiocy at home. one of these roads gets a bit tight in places. I' will do car spacing of 4-5 secs in one section of it.
  8. see sunnycoast thread or my sig. sun 10am pickup at bp cab - bruce hwy nth bound
  9. I reckon the sh1tbox will love it.

  11. the one I did had a plate on it - so yes they are certianly do able.
  12. ahh worked out who you are you finally got a place here - good! actually be good to put a face to the voice since we did all of that via remote.
  13. ok thats fine. I had one with a brown interior about 6 months back. had an airbag issue. if its a 6cd stacker I probably have a cart for it.
  14. I bet they have a yellow plate on them somewhere. (IE personal import.) the older sierras (pre 88) are a different kettle of fish.
  15. show me a pic of hte wheel. I can do cruise on it regardless of wheel but its better and neater on the wheel. in regard to the USDM vs JDM buttons. they differ externally and internally. so if you think you can buy a set off ebay and toss them in - they won't work this car doesn't have a brown leather interior does it?
  16. I know of a V35 door or two here in brissy.. mate of mine just got back from japan and I actually asked him to bring a few doors back with him.
  17. plenty of luck. it is two cables and the band expander. easy.
  18. did a bit of quick fiddling before I left the shop tonight: the BOV setup all lines up. no holes in a few spots BUT the punch marks are there in the new panels and its a case if drilling them out. I will spend tomorrow (after I get a car done/out of the shop) pulling all of the wreck apart and looking over things. the subframes are still there and the front one is straight. not sure if thats up for grabs or not.
  19. not really. one strap moves 6" to the left. the rest is the same. already looked at it.
  20. I'll pop past for a bit. though if its only one or two people I wouldnt worry about it. call me (shop phone is diverted to mobile.) if you are going to can the meeting tonight.
