  1. yep keep them here, shoot me an email (see sig)
  2. bump up those that like skid pans ,track days and genral cruising are invitd to attend
  3. pete, lost your details - pm me pls.
  4. panels are $800+ a side and then labour/paint. if you can't do it your self expect a 4 figure repair bill. I am in process of doing mine and that is : roof ($700) rear drivers quarter : $800+ sills $1k set inner B-C brace $300 rear beaver panel $300. that is PARTS ONLY. I'm doing the removal myself. should give you an idea.
  5. radio unit is the culprit. panel, controls are fine. did the 6cd work on that one (pm me.)
  6. why would disaster make a difference to the yen. kristian and I are both paying the same amount (80->83) as we were before the disaster hit. the only thing it has affected in my case is supply of certain things. from talking to krtistain this morning his side of things is mainly un affected.
  7. go for it. I'll grab another. pete, still want the rest of it though.
  8. been done several times before. I have pulled cars down and found that they have been wet. not a nice thing when you spend a day doing one and it consistently fails on you and its not your fault. kristian, got it on one.
  9. if you have the pin code then yes it will do the keys and the remtoe entry as well. diagnostics is what I bought mine for in the first place. at $3899 though I do not see many lining up for one.
  10. there is not a science to it. IF you are lucky the car will be slow to start otherwise it will simply die. average life of a battery is 2-3 years at best. if in doubt - change it.
  11. thats exactly what I mean. the dealer fitted ones are crimplocked into the car and over the space of 7-8 years they work loose causing what happened to the OP.
  12. yep there is a shift lock over ride. now I think everyone gets WHY I pull these things OUT of cars..
  13. I realise you are trying to do this on a budget - launch diagun - basic package. that will access EVERY aspect of that car. kinda handy if you need to punch a new key into the car. toss that into google. it should net a distro/retailer in your area.
  14. new battery for a start. they are data driven and once teh battery diesthe CAN system goes into no mans land and has a freak out session. start there and forget a jump start.
  15. steve, you are welcome once I get hte car back I'll flcik you a few 'horror' shots - should prove fun. had a quick fiddle today and I reckon I can get the roof going (close only) , windows (though they look like fun) , boot pop and the rest of the stuff you were talking about. I'll probably make a control module for all of it and work back from there. we will see. ideally I would love to punch a button and do total closure on the car. again we will see
  16. any RWC shop with a whiteboard can do it. if you feel like a drive to brissy - 3257 7755 -> david. he has one.
  17. I want a LOT of bits off that cut!! (the ones that you do not use!) call me! nice car as well. looks fairly clean for the age. are you doing what you did to the last one (and what I am doing to mine?)
  18. as do I and a few private people that have already approached me to rework them... (WHICH I WILL NOT BE PART OF! )
  19. if that has a 6cd stacker on it then it will work with a local unit. the DVD rom wont - that comes out.
  20. thats a dealer fitted clarion unit. anything attached to it will work on an older clarion unit - start there.
  21. bonnet catch : catch + mounting bracket ?(IE the piece that ties it to the top radiator panel and the lower panel?) the rest is fine. what happened to the straps?
  22. pete, need: battery hold down (with bolts) GTR fuel tank (with straps) windscreen wiper cowl cover (with screw insert covers- intact please) headlight seal (rubber panel behind headlight) with clips. GTR bonnet catch brace/support and quite a bit of other stuff I can't think of at the moment ----
  23. nah. it will be a case of finding the guy that repaired the car in the first place and I think I know who that was. he's a common acquaintance via a mate of mine. see what you can dig up though. we will both need it.
  24. thats what was done here. believe me if the panel shop had to cut that car apart then reassemble it the cost would be a 5 figure exercise. I already know the cost of the panels involved (its the entire drivers side) and that isn't exactly cheap. in regard to crushed sills - cue $1k in sill panels and another $1k or so to fit them.. I am doing the cutting on mine and the panel guy is going to put them back. saves some of that bill.
  25. sorted. I found a roof panel (new) with the hole for it. as for the sunroof assembly - mine is fine. I have a glass for it.
