AUDIO/NAVIGATION RELATED QUESTIONS MY CD PLAYER ATE MY CDs AND WONT GIVE THEM BACK if the 6cd indash unit displays ERROR F0 CD mechanism is jammed due to a nylon guide that has splintered in the transport. the discs cannot be removed without literally stripping the whole thing down. the unit can be repaired for $550-650 depending on the overall condition of the CD unit. parts are Ex Japan MY CD PLAYER SKIPS OR WONT PLAY NORMAL CDS - I SEE 'ERROR F3' ON MY SCREEN time for a new laser. repairable at a cost. WORST part is the labor to remove and refit it. laser is available locally. this IS NOT a DIY job DOES THE FACTORY CD UNIT PLAY BURNT CD'S / MP3 format - yes it does. it DOES NOT play CDRW. it does not play mp3 discs CAN I CONNECT AN IPOD TO THE FACTORY RADIO yes and the radio WILL control it OR if you have the factory NAV screen it can be done as well. there are two methods Method 1 the other one will use the factory radio as a controller and you can drive the IPOD off the steering controls IF you have them. CAN I REPLACE THE RADIO IN MY CAR IF I HAVE THE BOSE PREMIUM AUDIO yes it is possible. you need: new 2DIN facia panel to suit your car. new A/C controller (two versions with 'DUAL' button and without) Bose interface (there are two versions with NAVI and without.) No. There are no maps for this unit used in the Australian market. It can be converted using a local unit if Navigation is required 2. there is a software hack in the works from russia that will reportedly fix this. see HERE for this. this DOES NOT FIX THE MAP ISSUE!! 3. Japan use an ENTIRELY different televison system that cannot be converted for operation here. a local tuner must be fitted for TV to work. it is suggested that the antenna system be changed as well for one with higher gain and better reception.

can you tell me what gear (IE brands ) are in the car - also models of the amplifiers. if there is a single 4 ch one in there running everyting then there is a good chance it was killed wihen the subs were pulled. that said if there is a fuse on the battery - change it. tey can look ok and be blown.

when you are Chef's boat its more frustrating. myself I have a 4 figure sum of parts sitting in tokyo waiting on me to ship them out. the cost to the end user literally doubled in the space of two weeks. I'm waiting for the flow of work ( I do compliance Immobilsiers for 4 shops here in brissy) to stop - I'm good up to Dec at this stage before it all slows due to the exchange rate.

exactly. if they have a consult 2 or 3 and the immobiliser code then they are happy. programming the key is the easy bit (on assumption of a scan tool or consult 2/3.) the codes are the hard bit from your end. without those you can key the remote entry in but not the NATS system.

nissan - take your chassis number with you.

seen these at autobarn. could be integrated into the dash with fiddling though it would require removal of the OE screen/system. in th cases of cars that I have done it would remove whatever I have done to the car. the HD3 would do nicely but would require a dash swap to make it work. in all they are not a bad unit. navi is quite accurate and quick to correct when you make a mistake. BT is good as well. (all this is based on th HD3.)

there is a thread on this. short version: findthe BCM - copy all the numbers off it. send a email to nissan japan requesting the immobiliser codes. cut and program new key with consult.

bin it. if its doing that then something is not right.
