  1. ok commnets in order of images: different nav unit. the ones in the cars I see is black and has a single open CD slot. same disc as the OE unit. your car is an auto. that is the controller for the gearbox. also noted the speed cut disable box. chase the cables to the left of that image. that will find the TV box. need a shot of that. same screen. would love to see the rear (wiring side) of it. would almost bet its entirely different to the OE one. TV setup - quite different. never seen that. need to see the TV box. if its there (aux) then I'd say it would be a function of the buttons. on the OE one its a function of the TV and TV menus.
  2. organise it and fly me down. I'll do both. ground is ground. so blk = gnd=steel frame. red=+12v not sure if it needs key or live though. when do you want it done? cruise is SCS and is custom as you know. only in production for me from these guys. not available elsewhere.
  3. depending on current draw - yes. tie the ground to the steel support where the tuner is. ground the parking brake wire. as for the other question you asked me -$900 fitted. need a plane ticket down/back.
  4. flip the switch on the rear of th control module. its not seeing igintion.
  5. depends on how you want the system setup. in the case of nav + tv over $2k. yes I can do the nav in that car- I'm still assuming you are talking about a R34 GTR and NOT an aftermarket system fitted in that car. those are bin material.
  6. then it will do that. buy a $35 band expander for the radio and use it. when it dies rip it out and start again.
  7. yes. me. question to you is what do you wish to spend on it as its not cheap.
  8. 5th gen nissan antitheft. it NOT an alarm at all. it will simply disable the fuel side of things via the computer. if you swap the computer it's gone anyway. as for the remotes - button cell is what I have seen in most of the ones I have worked on. the one I have here currently has a dead key. remote works but the transponder doesn't - result - car cranks but wont go. jon, he's asked me too. doesnt have the NATS codes though so he's out of luck. told him how to ATTEMPT to get them. if he's successful then the key should be able to be done locally. if you get time I'll run a tool over yours to see if I can do it.
  9. key has a transponder chip in side of it. this chip needs to be coded to the car for it to start. the buttons are for convienence.
  10. saw paul a few days back lives in cloudland and puts a magna around. grew up a bit and doesnt play with cars anymore something to do with his oldman crashing the 31. W32, welcome back
  11. yep, bin it. the system is different thant he local AVN6000. see a couple of these a month. I do have a navi disc for one but its not going to help you in your quest for a cheap dvd/nav system. the DVD is locked to region 1 I believe.
  12. went broke well over two years ago. a couple of sydney people bought it and were operating it out of a garage for a while but last I heard it was all over. the local guys lost $100k or better each and there were 5 of them doing it.
  13. show me the hitachi box. if it is tucked under the carpet then there is a good chance it is the TV tuner. I'll know when I see it. show me the inside of the car particaluarly the nav unit and screen (in operation.) yes guys I'm up to something
  14. nissan. prepare sof a shock though. these cars run NATS 5 so whoever does it will need that protocol and the immobiliser code before they start.
  15. if you still have that blue box somewhere I'll pick it up
  16. further to the point (bearing in mind I work on these things day in day out.) if you do find a cheap one do not expect it to be straight, have decent airbags or working electrics. I have been in a couple now that had been re done and the airbags cut out of them because it has been crashed. food for thought.
  17. glovebox is easy. drop ALL the visible screws and the two on the lower corners. it will then pop out. there is a light and the airbag harness attached to that - drop those off. do you have the nav unit in the OE spot. if so can you take a pic of it also do the same with teh antenna setup. common place for the nav units to go is under a seat. look there. out of curiosity where are you?
  18. tv tuner location is what I meant- under rear parcel shelf drivers side. av lead is a special thing i import from overeseas. makes audio into these cars plug and play.
  19. now thats different. never seen that. screen will complain with no tv tuner attached. keep digging its there somewhere. rip the carpet out of the side. I can't see nissan building a 10th harness for these things. tv antennas are back in that corner so the rest should be too. pm me your phone number- want to chat
  20. tv tuner is under the rear deck - drv side. you need a AV in lead to get into it. those can be bought from me.
  21. brant you mean. spoke to autowatch yesterday to place an order.
