  1. actually if you use twisted pair leads it does help for noise rejection. the car is a noisey car unfortunately and what may work for one may not work on another.
  2. google apexi USA and download the current RSM manual- that will tell you.
  3. believe me its all hit/miss when it comes to this. there is not a simple answer to it.
  4. so what do you REALLY want? (IE what are you prepared to pay?)
  5. kylie, looked at those a while back. not a bad unit. get it fitted properly and you are set. silvergtr, from me.
  6. if you have a week to be without the car then a bit of fiberglassing is all that is needed.
  7. thats pretty much how I do them depending on how thick the amp is I'll sink it into a 12mm it of MDF and use the original points to mount it from.
  8. short concise and to the point - I lke that!
  9. FG them into the corners. you still have space then.
  10. christ that rhino one is CHEAP! (I can't even buy it for that!) the rest I would be weary of. if you want a proper one flick me a PM.
  11. ala the jaycar bit of rubbish... seen this thing under so many names its not funny. also click around that site- none of it works!
  12. not from me, jon may have one though. hieght wise you are ok.
  13. its not gonna happen I'm afraid. do you know who makes it?
  14. rethink your line. now if that wire shorts what is going to happen?
  15. you can do that if you wish. cheap way out (if it works fine.) is to get a band expander ($29) and chuck that inline with the antena so the radio works. if its died - swap the radio with a local one- I had a customer today that did this with a pioneer unit. jap unit died had a 12cd behind it. so we put a local 5850 in it's place.
  16. nope. brand must match brand. that said buy another kenwood unit with CD control and go. ( KDCMP5033 would be my pick.)
  17. you have a loose rod in the drivers door. if you can hear the actuator going in the drivers side then everything else is fine. tear the panel off and screw the rod back in place.
  18. do you have a pic of the unit in question? from there either of us can probably help.
  19. what do you want to change on it?
  20. that amp is roughly the same size jon, should fit under the drivers one.
  21. too much effort. remove ashtray- 2 screws, remove shift knob , pop entire panel out, 3 screws, pop entire panel out, unclip all plugs, remove stereo.
  22. could be worse actually..
  23. ok that one has been cobvered here before. do a search on it - then get back to me. in short theres 5 screws and 10 snaps holding that panel on.
  24. which car?
  25. good idea too. htey usually need a bit after years of wear and tear. also noted you pulled it apart to get all the trash out of it.
