  2. Lotus has revealed an ultimate track day toy at the Monterey Motorsports Pre-Reunion. The new Lotus Exos Type 125 is an F1 inspired track car that uses Formula 1 technology and a Cosworth V8 engine. The chassis is a carbon fiber monocoque with a wide front wing and the narrow rear wings similar to the 2009-spec F1 cars. But the resemblance does not stop, it also has the coke bottle shape, top exit exhaust, shark fin engine covers, carbon ceramic brakes and a carbon fiber pushrod suspension. Inside the cockpit the F1 technology continues with paddle shifters to control the semi automatic gearbox as well as a multi-function screen on the steering wheel controlling all the parameters. Behind the driver you will find a detuned Cosworth GPV8 engine still producing 650bhp with a 10,300rpm red line. The car as a whole weighs in at just 650kg, achieving a power to weight ratio of 1000bhp per ton. This engine is designed to run 4500km between rebuilds and has a starter motor so that you do not need a support crew to be able to run the car at the track. Lotus plans to build 25 Exos next year at a price of one million dollars a piece. The Exos program will also include five driver events at various race tracks that will allow the owners to slowly come up to speed with the performance of their new car by getting instruction and advice from a variety of current and past Lotus drivers.   4. Is the goal to just see 300 on the speedo/readout or do you want more? If so change the diff and then you don't have to rev the crap out of it Here's another option to consider, if you're going to get a gearset for the gearbox, get a custom 5th gear made and leave the diff alone.

  10. Check the wheel rules mate, unless they've changed lately you can go bigger than 17's on R32 (vspec2 had 17x9's stock). From memory the rule is 2" up and 1" wider than stock fitment The uncovered filter rule is pointless with EFI cars. Keep up the good work RTA.

I'll post up the hotel I'll be at when I get home (details aren't with me right now) but it's about $90 per night for a private room that's VERY spacious compared to the Prince hotel etc

Yeah that's how mine drives, but the first turbo is never off, the second you touch the pedal you can hear the turbo I honestly think it's too responsive and the downside is that of course you can have too much response that power suffers Still, I'd love to try some 5's and 7's on my setup or this hideck-it would be all kinds of fun
  17. Nah no that sort of thing, Pauls referring to his car vs mine as we have a lot of the same parts Yep the exhaust is going to be a massive step up from the crappy peashooter on there now. I'll get pics up asap for you guys. The best bit? It's specific to rb30 gtr's so no spacers needed
  18. Yeah smart move. The 1000's just wont do the job Why are your drags closing? Is there a racetrack where the straight can be used instead? Eastern Creek used to do that up here. Anyway, you get Targa roads, thats more than enough
  19. Well i guess time will tell, ive spent a bit of time on the exhaust today so that was good. I really think the stock porting will let it down but the reason i left it like that is to see just how far the stock head can go. Ive told Yavuz to push it as hard as he can, so it will be a good comparison I can tell you some stories about that hill, none on here though haha We can do the bootout after the dyno
  20. 5's and 7's yes, 9's no Ever driven a stock supra twin turbo? Im certain 9's on a 3L would feel the same, its too responsive and feels like it seriously lacks top end 7's, build rb26/30 with 260 cams and lots of boost. Try catching that on a hillclimb!

  24. Lifters are determined by base circle Springs are determined by lift. Are you sure it's lifters you're after? Also, a thread in the WTB area would get you a better result
