  2. Same...i was shocked at how much of a pig it was when i did the 2530 > GTRS swap. What works for the 2530's definately doesn't for the RS's yeah the cam selection is a little tricky and what works to improve response actually goes against what most people would think. was disapointed i was too busy come over and say g'day when you were up in Newcastle last getting tuned...would have been good to compare notes.

  4. Agree, its all in the head to get them to work properly...mine were very responsive once we did the head.
  5. just keep bumping it with spotted's... spotted a gunmetal grey R32 GTR with "Red R Racing" warpaint...numberplates...BBN-70V...sideways at Thornton today.

  9. make sure they balance everything...not just bolt it together...as the Tomei 2.8 kits are far from perfect out of the box. good luck with it.

  12. agree...you wouldn't buy a PC for your home that was designed and built in the 90's...so why would you consider a computer for your car that was.
  13. Mark Jacobsen (Godzilla Motorsport) often comes down and tunes my car and others. We use a brand new Mainline 4WD dyno and book in a few cars in a day so flying him down from Brisbane is economical...costs are shared between the group. Works out cheaper than going to Sydney and in my opinion his tunes are safer.
  14. its no real secret..my mate has a 5 bay shed at Whitebridge...1 bay strictly for engine work and plenty of room for a couple of race cars (our drag car and circuit car). Its not a full time operation...more like a hobby...but its decked out will all the tools and parts we need. We are looking into a full time set-up...but unfortunately not in Newcastle because the money's not here to make it viable.
  15. new 1mm oversize inconnel valves...nice...very nice titanium retainers...these are so light they almost feel like they are plastic dual valve springs Tomei 270 deg 10.8mm cams and Tomei bronze guides are ordered and on their way...combined with a stage 2 port job this is going to be one awesome head.

Car has now been fitted with a full genuine HKS T51R SPL BB kit (modified with new 108mm front wheel as per the new HKS T62 turbo), PPG fully optioned straight cut dogbox (billet main shaft, idler shaft, input shaft and sandwich plate $12 000), brand new Nismo 2 way rear diff, fully rebuilt and modified transfer case and NPC twin plate race clutch, Vi-PEC ecu etc.. Should make 900+ AWHP and will be a high 8 second car once sorted. A similar car just sold recently for $30 000 more and these cars have become almost twice as expensive to build due to the crashing aussie dollar. Might be still for sale with the right money as a business deal has come up that i may have an option on. PM me if you have a serious offer and cash ready. If not ill be racing it soon.
  18. i do agree though...now ive had a good look at it ...if it was my product...id be calling the final design team into my office to hand them their notices... but its something i didn't and don't really consider when selecting it or any other products. the silver box is good id keep that but i doubt you could use any colour than blue with it...maybe Ford "shockwave" blue would have been a bit more striking (same as my rocker covers) and the matt packaging would look better in a high gloss.
  19. no disrespect mate but GTR's with 1/2 the power are stockers 380KW/2 = 190KW at the wheels do you have a 1000hp dyno sheet?
  20. If you have a 14 year old daughter like i do...you will know that 80's-early 90's is in...in a big way. Vi-PEC...no more awkward than MoTeC. I don't give a toss what it looks like...its hides behind the kick panel anyway...performance and features are more what i look for in a product. A catchy name and a shiny box with Japlish stickers included are low on my list...the boy racers who are influenced by these things are probably not the target market anyway...serious racers and modifiers are more the market they are cornering....i.e. the high end market just like MoTeC with the M800
  21. i havent seen a more relaxed and casual attutude since viewing my Powercruise 'street drag' footage. Im sure if John was allowed to have the window down his elbow would be resting on top of the sill.
  22. This ecu has been specifically designed for 14.0 @ 98 MPH cars.
