  1. out cruising newy today...was the 1st time ive taken the car along the foreshore...bloody hell its stacks on down there. saw guilt-toy there amongst a few other skylines
  2. i do them engine in...much easier in the long run.
  3. way too far there...you can see by the shape of the port that what you have done would actually hinder the gas flow. ie.too much of a right angled corner. GTR heads flow pretty well out of the box and for a circuit car id concentrate more on the inlet for light porting and knife edging and only give the exhaust a clean up and polish. For a given volume of gas to flow through an orifice (port) the larger the cross-section the less the pressure it will be and a "softer" hit in the manifold and on the turbine wheel. The larger port will in most applications actually decrease the response of the turbocharger.
  4. might be able to work something out Troy...our car is no dedicated "drag car" and id like to prove a point. How do we "share" the drive? time to dig the rear trims and back seat out of mothballs...hehe
  5. got plenty of "sus" under her...its the tyre and brake budget that i lack...anyone got anything laying around that i could "borrow"? Head engineer...his main job is to keep the beer and seafood cold isn't it?
  6. bit hard to get a decent pic...but these will give you an idea. NOTE...these are nothing like the AutoSelect ones...the jap ones are much beefier with cross bracing as well. But display's the general idea.
  7. ill duck up to the shed and snap a few pics.
  8. If only i had ..1..monster brakes..2..tyres with reinforced sidewalls..3..a budget..4 driving talent!! id be in!! if plenty of grunt and balls won races id be fine...but unfortunately the skill and finesse of sucessful circuit racing avoids me. my money's on Russ and Jack...good luck lads.
  9. i have some AutoSelect A-pillar braces fitted to our racecar. When combined with a tower brace gives an ultra stiff front end. They tie the strut tower to the door a pillar...every little bit helps!
  10. Bugger...ahh well practice makes perfect...should be getting real good at it now Dunc's. we use a forklift to rip ours out...the ability to tilt the tongs forward and back is a real bonus.
  11. contrary to a popular rumour this car is not sold. Will be racing at Compak Attak May 19th at WSID....
  12. pull the engine out...takes about 2hrs in a racecar...our record is 1 1/2 hrs. much easier...less stress...less pain.
  13. most paint suppliers can get it for you
  14. 1/Slik LA 2/wrxkilla 3/WhatBrake 4/OoskylineoO 5/PHA71L 6/93 GTR 7/dam-re1 dam-re1 your added...3 to go then time to send the money in people
  15. yes petrol would be my choice of cleaner.
  16. any live streaming of the race?
  17. do any of you kiwi's know Joe Kyle...was giving him a hand at Taupo last year. Bit of advice helped him bring his 60' down. Nice fella.
  18. 107-108 to 1/2 track now...ill have to dig up some old timecards for the earlier 1/2 track mph
  19. running 9.9's now but only using 3 gears due to ANDRA regs. 9100rpm in 3rd gear gets me on the 140MPH limit for cars without a parachute. So i hold 3rd at 9100 over the line...hehe
  20. 133 MPH and 1.493 60' launching at 8000rpm with no two step. running a synchro gearbox on radials with no NOS. Engine was basically stock with forged pistons and ARP rod bolts, turbo's were HKS 2530's. Are they running Allstars at Taupo or Meremere this year? I went to the Taupo event last year.
  21. i would say the new guides have not been fitted when pics were taken.
  22. easy 10's...i ran 10.34 with 398 AWKW weighing 1474kg plus a 105kg driver.
  23. something to have a look at tacker http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Lo...mp;hl=fine+port
  24. get jim to overlay our 460kw 20psi run-in graph (BP98) prior to Autosalon Newcastle then post up response comparison would be interesting looking good Ben
