the cams you have are plenty big enough. the shims are determined by the clearance from the base circle of the camshaft to the valve bucket. Its something that has to be determined by measurement. They may not need changing either...bolt the cam in and measure the clearance to see.

I agree...a stock rb26 head is capable of flowing almost 1000hp...yes stock cams, valve gear etc. this lines up well with your example

I had some wankers last Sunday pull up along side and yell "fu(king whipper snipper" out the window as i was turning left. Its about the only heat ive had in Newy. The only time ive ever been pulled up was when i was back living at the Bay, and that was Christmas time. They followed me in an unmarked car from my home at Soldiers Point into Nelson Bay. Just before they were about to turn off i gave it a little squirt up a hill, they pulled me up and said "oh you were doing oh so well until you did that...see that block of units there (points to a block of units 1/2 way up the hill) well the people that live there are all now awake!" Told me to take it more steady and behave myself. I think the fact i was a local and from a well known local family hepled me a little. I think if i was of ethnic origin from Sydney i may have been treated very differently.

exhaust valve guides are probably flogged out and will need replacing. solid lifters...GTR...lol

our car is higher than std (due to the suspension travel required to launch the car properly) so it may have something to do with it...lol your additude on the roads has a lot to do if your pulled over and/or defected....ive only ever been pulled over once and owned hot Skylines for over 10 years now. What people dont realise is that cops will often see silly behaviour while off duty, note the number plate and target you later. People often think and say "but i wasnt doing anything wrong" you may not have been that time but you may have brought the unwanted attention upon yourself from an earlier incident. Newcastle is a small place remember...
