  1. im using the same...NPC billet is the mother of all clutches...properly set-up to each cars requirements is the way to go when buying a clutch. Im not a fan of out of the box, one size fits all clutches. Even a properly set-up custom single plate will out perform most of the multi plate off the shelf offerings.
  2. just rotate the tps by loosening the mounting screws till it outputs 0.4v with the throttle closed. This is the voltage the ATTESSA is looking for on start-up.
  3. the other runs were 11.2 and a very lazy 14 ...Theo's best was 10.5 so he was even slower than me . He has just put a Liberty gearbox in the car so he must be having a few issues with the new set-up. Colin's ute is nuts...he is even nuttier for driving such a short wheelbase car so fast. Let me know which way you want to go with your set-up.
  4. id rather you gave me sh1t in person...plenty to say online but very quiet when i met you at Superlap....pissweak. Match! on topic now thanks guys
  5. i use deutsch connectors...the best. http://www.deutsch.net/deutsch-product-search.aspx?page=3
  6. car is fine...Marks is getting close too, bit too much clutch on the 7.92 and black-tracked to 1/2 track. if Mark's car wasn't finished we were planning on swapping the chute over to my car. It will be all sorted for Jambo in August.
  7. sounds like an ad for a Ford ute. yes i realise fabricating brackets and mounting a parachute is inevitable...my car was late arriving in QLD and we were pressed for time at Godzilla this week preparing Marks car to return to the track. all my 9 second passes have been done as a 3 speeder. 3rd gear @ 9100rpm = 139MPH! over 140MPH requires extra safety gear and the chute. more work required on the car before Jamboree to optimise the set-up. Big thanks to Mark, Harry, Murdy and Scott for their efforts.
  8. its log booked already ya flogger id rather get logged (booked for non compliance) for a 9.46 @ 148 than run a 9.9* @ 141 and have to park the car at a 4 day meet. thrashing the sh1t out of expensive engines when you know at 1/4 track the thing is not on a screamer is foolish to say the least. please crawl back under the pile of sh1t you just appeared from fatz. (my new sig...lol)
  9. it launched off the line with too much power/throttle turning the tyres, then at the top of 2nd blew the intercooler hose off the turbo outlet....still ran 10.23... ill pull 4th if the 1st half of the run is in order and get logged for no chute...till i get it together there is no point running it out the back door.
  10. the best tuna in aust would have to be the yellowfin.
  11. as above with a Nitto pump as suggested. items not required if looking to save a few bucks...arp studs and eagle rods. Stock resized rods with arp bolts hold up 460AWKW without a drama along with new Nissan bolts for the mains and head.
  12. Another poorly researched statement...Vi-PEC has four times the logging capabilities of the MoTeC M800. Vi-PEC has it as a standard feature...MoTeC its a option that costs even more $$ and its only 1MB vs 4MB. A quick look at the spec sheet will tell you that. V8 Supercars are not the be all and end all...they use lots of old outdated technology...pushrod V8's anyone? MoTeC is not a bad ecu...but we have found the Vi-PEC has won the pepsi challenge against it. If you dont know...dont post please.
  13. Contrary to popular belief...no im not a distributor of this product...its just a damn fine unit. Like the other products i find excellent...HKS turbo's, VP fuels, Hypertune plenums etc...if i find something is a proven product i sing its praises and some people get most upset at this and assume there is some kickback involved...most of these people are a supplier or dealer of a rival product. The full dealer list can be found here http://www.vi-pec.com/ please contact the dealer in your state for pricing etc. I run a V88 with an adaptor board which then makes it simply plug in...easy! Brad...come and look at my set-up or the set-up on the Wedlock car over the weekend and we will work out the best solution for your application.
  14. i use a Ruzic engine monitor...it plugs straight into the vi-pec...monitors every imaginable engine perameter and is fully programable with shift lights warning lights buzzer etc.Comes with full instructions and software...great add on feature to the vi-pec.
  15. You should see the timing move around when you put a timing light on a MoTeC powered EVO...its a joke..this is why Scott now has a stack of 2nd hand MoTeC's he doesnt really even want to sell to the EVO guys. Watching the MoTeC try and guess crank postion is laughable. My own drag car would never idle properly with a Power FC or an Autronic SM4...Installed a Vi-PEC V88...purrs like a kitten after a bowl of warm milk.
  16. Its a vi-pec thread for fcuks sake !! thats what it is about...why would i talk about the Links you sell when the original poster wanted Vi-PEC info....you are the one flogging your Link horse everytime the word Vi-PEC is mentioned. I never asked you to supply me Links...just wanted to know what you were paying for them...get it right pal.
  17. shall i post up both spec sheets to make your above post look silly? Vi-PEC has a larger and faster processor than the MoTeC for starters. It was only a matter of time before you came on here flying the Link flag...you cant make a buck out of vi-pec much to your annoyance (shall i post a few pm's you sent me?) but you can make $$ out of Link so you love to flog them. You have also touted about how successful you have been in business and how much money you have made...but now money is an issue....so which one is it? Trent, if you want a cheap MoTeC contact Insight Motorsports in Sydney...Scott has a few from cars that have upgraded to Vi-PEC. Marks will also be up for sale in a few weeks out of his drag car if you are interested. Jason, give Mark a call before you waste a lot of $$...im here in qld at the moment and can install it for you...i can send you some pics to show you the high standard of my wiring. I recommend a Vi-PEC V88, twin M&W Drag 6 igniters and M&W coils...ive done 2 of these instals since ive been up here on both the Wedlock car and a drag VL thats soon to debut.
  18. No problems at all...the Vi-PEC is a master at idle control with an 8meg processor dedicated to the function.
  19. Flame me for asking...but who is Duncan Handley?
  20. I helped out fitting a Vi-PEC V88 to this car....Tuned by Vi-PEC guru Mark Jacobsen at Godzilla Motorsport. It runs 18 1600cc injectors...yes 18!! and on Sunday ran 6.71 @ 204 MPH and 60'd 1.021 (average boost level throughout the run was less than 39psi)....off the trailer and later ran a PB MPH of 209 MPH! It idles at 1200 rpm like a baby....try that sh1t with even a MoTeC M800...lol If we have time prior to this weekends race meeting we are removing the MoTeC from Marks 7 second GTR and 'upgrading' to a Vi-PEC. Vi-PEC is by far the best ecu on the market.
  21. Hi Adam, thought I would add a few comments........I havent posted anything on SAU for a long time, but thought I would kill some time while the baby has her arvo nap, and this is an interesting topic. I think you are asking for some comments on "what we think should/could b done to stop import/performance cars being targeted under anti-hooning laws? Police will always target Jap imports and high performance cars. This will only increase, never decrease. Here are a few reasons why: Police target these cars because the majority of these drivers are young men who are more likely to speed and participate in risky behaviour behind the wheel. Cars that are noisy, modified, fuely and fast are becoming more and more socially unacceptable to the majority of Australians. As far as I knew, as soon as you modify an import (swap original parts for non-factory), you are breaking the law. Correct me if I'm wrong?........Police target imports because they know that the majority of owners start modifying their cars as soon as they purchase them. This is a really easy way for the Police to get their quota for the day. Towns and cities all over the world are become more and more people/pedestrian friendly and greener. Speed limits are reducing, and streets are being share by cars and people. The last thing the majority of our community wants is for a loud (and therefore is percieved as fast) skyline screaming past them on a sunday morning while their sipping their coffee, walking their dog or pushing a baby in her pram. Times are changing, therefore, its pretty hard to find ways, virtually impossible actually, to stop import/performance cars being targeted; but here are a few ideas: Stick to the speed limits, and drive like your mother is in the passenger seat at all times. Keep high rev's in the suburbs and around town to a minium as it always draws unwanted attention. Never-ever get a noisy blow-off valve. If your getitng modifications done, you need to be clever about it. All after market gadgets and parts need to look like the original, be in the same place, or better still, in the same packaging. You want the Police to look over your car and see nothing out of place, nothing too shiny or new. There are a few smart workshops around now who understand this and realise it is the only feasible and practical way forward. I actually see a time in the near future when workshops will be fined for performing certain modifications. (I think there are some new laws for exhaust workshops that will make them liable for cars that are to noisy?) I have owned my GTR for almost 10 years and I have never been booked or pulled over for anything. (although twoogle has rarely been driven on the street for the past few years). I have been a passive observer of the import/racing scene for the past few years, mainly 'cause I've had a baby and now I just watch from a distance while Paul follows his passion. Unfortunately, the more I see, the more I think our days are numbered. Cheers, Stacey D (Mrs Twoogle)
  22. Im living in QLD these days and my Jeep is in Newcastle...im going back for the weekend on the 11th...if you can wait that long. I have generated a bit of interest from several parties just from this thread. Ive only had a radiator top neck crack on it in the 4 years ive owned it...$260 for a complete new radiator and fitted it myself. Jeep parts are expensive if your a dumbass who doesnt know where and how to buy them cheap.
  23. now you know why i only use Terry at Award Diff and Gearbox for all my gearbox work. Ive had two OS giken boxes and two Pfitzner dogboxes built by Terry and never has an issue whatsoever. Simon at PPG is a bit of an arrogant bastard too so that doesnt help.
