  1. The south pacific knights...lol
  2. Bad post Dan...my dyno figures have always correlated with my MPH considering the weight. There are those that say and those that do....but there is also people who say...and do!
  3. I used an N1 oil pump on my 10 second GTR for years...it survived lots of 8000 rpm launches by my wife Stacey and quite a few 9000rpm launches by myself. We turned the launch rpm up to 9500rpm and used a hard cut ignition rev limit as opposed to the soft cut fuel rev limit we used previously and it broke the 2nd pass we ran it. Running a properly balanced engine assembly and using proper crank damper will help it survive. lesson...use a soft cut rev limit, use a sensible launch rpm, properly balance the engine and use a better harmonic balancer.
  4. i think he means the porceilan insulator.
  5. yeah pretty hopeless...can't even beat the crappy ol' Knights. lol.
  6. what thickness? i buy all my shims from Precision Shims in Melbourne available in many thicknesses. (is that a word?)
  7. ok too large a gap is not the issue. try a 10 heat range plug gapped to 0.8mm first then step it down to 0.6mm before buying the splitfires though. Check your earths as well.
  8. you obviously do not get it Roy...im not talking massive port size. Just changes to port and combustion chamber shape. This aids the intake charge to properly fill the cylinder more uniformly and aids in cylinder distribution. On the hot side the small amount of extra size that may result and tiny loss of gas velocity can be made up by changing the thermal properties of the gas path by retaining heat. This is one of the reasons Ben likes the stock manifolds and why i thermal coat everything. Chat to Ben about it as im just a dumb engine builder and drag racer who has no idea.
  9. These are $1800 now so it represents a bargain
  10. actual dyno and real world on road and track results. you must get out more as what you have seen is conventional thinking...i must admit though we were a little surprised with the results from what we tried. most of the power runs were from 2500-3000rpm we build and design our engines to perform for a given rev range... below 3000rpm is for shopping centre carparks.
  11. your 'little birdy' has been snorting too much powdered cuttlefish. i know where the car is and its no-where near you Fox.
  12. lol...im struggling to even run a 9 now, we will see what happens when the car arrives up here to race. A few little tricks we have planned for it. Also you can add JPC and most of the Melbourne VL boys to that list. Im currently running a JUN pump now but will go to a Peterson external pump when it breaks. My forklift bottom end will run a VL series II or VL turbo pump (they are the same) reco'd and modified by JW Auto.
  13. hmmm could maybe go a tad colder and gap them a little to see if its in the plug...ignition system 'should' be fine if its new...but the coils are cheap chinese shit so maybe your on the right track. Whack some splitfire's in it...they are a proven performer if changing the plugs and gapping them down doesn't help. what are they gapped at now?
  14. I run a HKS DLI and Splitfires...and make over 1000hp without any missfire. What plugs are you running?
  15. car is in the progress of being trucked to QLD so i can race it up here for a few months...yay!
  16. fixed...lol
  17. I realise this...thats why i said...not 'entirely' correct. but you said "any potential headwork works the opposite" that statement was what i was refering to. People regard what you write as gospel given your reputation...i just didn't want your words taken out of context.
