  4. i have the worst driveway in aust...an extremely steep twisting item that i have to put the Jeep in 4wd to reverse it up. thats why i have a high ride height drag car not a gutter scraping circuit item.
  5. can you send that spare CAS up...mines making a funny noise like its got sand in it...STEVE-O!!!!!

  7. confirmation...yes its a 3 port mac valve
  8. i normally only buy them for $150 pr....no more.
  9. im sure there is hundreds of things we agree on mate. The chance of oil defying gravity climbing up and going down a hole smaller than my little finger nail is a bit hard to imagine considering there are two very large oil returns at the rear of the engine underneath this hole on both sides of the head...one of them you can stick two fingers down and the other is even bigger that you can fit 3 in.
  10. it better be ready for powercruise or ill bash you with my handbag.
  11. oh no...im at home today...ill go around and do it right now.
  12. I was most upset when they turned up black. Almost as upset as you will be when the chrome starts to flake off.
  13. ceramichrome on manifolds and turbine housings is for poofs. Hi-temp black FTW.
  14. looked like Rodney Forbes.
  15. i find it difficult to believe Jim would have only charged $600 for a tune...its over $200 cheaper than usual CRD price.
  16. did you get the flywheel machined? if so did they re insert the clutch locating dowels? is the gearbox mount properly tightened? just a couple of things to check
  17. Hey there is nothing wrong with the Garrett's but the HKS items seem to work better. On a street car with lower boost levels the Garrett items will work very well. Bakes ive got some old HKS boxes here ill get you to bring the Garrett's around in them...hehe
  18. sorry...it was late and i was pinching the time above ours in the list...1.18...cheers
  19. that is to be totally expected...the -5's are supposed 2530 equivalents...id like to see if -7's would pull ahead of them...i think not. My car made 460+ awkw on BP98 with 20psi and backed it up the next day with 450+ at autosalon...it made 355awkw on 11psi...thats nuts! That is BP98 yes just your STD bowser fuel...The best was 504awkw at 25psi with Sunoco fuel. Our Superlap car has a HKS TO4Z it pulls 450+kw at 24psi...with one of my tunes in it (read...not the best tuner lol) People waste money on parts they dont need just for the sake of 'having them' then whinge when they say HKS is too dear. MAX PSI is going through this now as he is wondering why his -10's are not even in the same sport as my GT-RS's. My new drag set-up runs a modified HKS T51R SPL BB...its going to be responsive too...just watch this space. HKS FTW...its the only turbo i will use.
  20. ok...Garrett smarrett... everyone bags out HKS...expensive...not required etc...but I seem to always make the rated power at the tyres...not the engine. Why is that ? Is it because the Garrett's run out of puff when pushed ? It seems like it...not trying to start a war but it seems most times the 'equivalent' Garrett items are not up to it when pushed for power. HKS 2530's 450KW at the tyres = 705hp at the engine 30psi HKS GT-RS 500KW at the tyres = 785hp at the engine 25psi Try doing that with 'equivalents' it just doesnt happen
  21. finally someone on here who agrees with the oil rear tubo drain...its a crock of shit. The Japs actually only do it to ventilate the crankcase it was never designed to be an oil drain. If you have ever looked at the large oil galleries at the rear of any RB engine you will see that the chance of any oil to actually make its way through a small hole on the centre of a dash 8 or dash 10 fitting is being optimistic in the extreme. It will return to the sump via the large oil galleries that already exist there. Ill get the 'mythbusters' to make some clear hose and mount an uder bonnet camera to prove this myth is just that...a myth. The only thing you may see going on is a constant stream of crankcase pressure being expelled up the pipe and out through the rockers. This mod can be done without having to massage the firewall and running a fitting on the rear. Enlarging the oil returns along the block is a much better option.
  22. dont bother...just get guilt-toy to fly over and tune what you have...he can tune anything that will pass emissions.
  23. depends if they are damaged. Serviceable 2nd hand rods can be picked up for as low as $100 a set.
