just checked my documentation and you are correct...interference fit. without this fit it also states that it "will not correctly transfer crankshaft vibration into the hub" gee thats a worry.
-
finga my a$$
-
are you sure its an interference fit...i was sure it was a clearance on balancer (i.e.0.02mm clearance)...i can remove mine with a few taps with a rubber mallet. It and the woodruff key were in perfect order when it was removed on the last pulldown so it didn't move at all when locked on with the bolt. They are not supposed to be pressed on like a bearing onto a shaft i.e. interference. The way you have described it being fitted sounds like a perfect fit...remember to moly lube both sides of the washer and bolt thread...no loctite!
-
you called? your measurements tell me if you hone it 0.02mm it will be perfect. My ATI was fitted to my new RB26 crank without any modification and it fitted perfectly
-
they just run in the housing...no bearings!...our 1/2 shaft was stripping metal off and flogging the housing out. So the housing was machined out further and needle rollers were fitted. A lot better now. Diffs are a piece of cake...gearboxes though are some crazy shit and i leave that stuff for Terry to scratch his head over.

Guilt-Toy can tune your ecu remotely if you buy a Power FC...i have a brand new GTS-t one for sale if you need it.
-
i have a brand new one in the for sale setion for $1500 if you are interested.
-
did you guys modify the hemisphere at all? we machined 10thou off the housing to make it F-tight and also fitted needle rollers inside the housing to run on the 1/2 shafts as ours liked to tear metal off inside creating a bit too much play.

New Plug-in Ecu Coming
Swiper the Fox replied to Swiper the Fox's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
im out http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=V9iwZzrIaNw note the Power FC style misfire at 39 seconds speaking of 39 seconds...thats about how long Guilt-Toy took to retune his Vi-PEC when changing from BP98 to E85...try that with your Power FC -

Ring Mark Jacobsen Jack...maybe he can convince you. He was just like you guys (mostly racepace customers) who doubted this ecu could run a street skyline better than a Power FC. Mark can instal and tune a Vi-PEC much quicker than a Power FC and have a much nicer running car with better smoother power....and no missfire. you Power FC fools dont get it...really you dont. EVERY SINGLE PERSON THAT HAS HAD BOTH ECU'S RAVES ABOUT HOW MUCH BETTER THE VI-PEC RUNS THE CAR. THAT IS HOW ITS SUPERIOR. shall i dig up some more Power FC missfire threads for you?...ok here's another. http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/81751-power-fc-...nt-misfire.html do you still not get it?? BTW no one's ignoring you...i go to bed...sleep...then wake up late on Sunday mornings. -
Isn't the car bogging off the line now? I cannot overpower the tyres in my car on radials...mind you i have twice the grip but also double the power. Why don't you run the car as hard as you can first on the SDR's then maybe think about slicks. You can do what you like with your car honestly i couldn't care if you put wheels on its roof and drove it upside down. Just a thought.
-
thanks again Bennett...sig updated what about the same car but with this livery...without sponsors...colours only.
-
you dont need to put a slick tyre under that car dude...that would be wrong! yes the sidewall of the slick will soften the initial shock loading but the lack of tyre slip will see you turning driveline components instead of tyres. you are a street dragger and reasonably good at it...fu(k Ray Box's stupid new rules..race Andra Super Street and get the car running 11.0 all day. Thats the best option for you that i can see. At least with Andra you will get a proper track instead of the debacle at last years Compak. The track was a 330' strip as clearly the rest of the track was unprepped. Watch all of Marks vids...the car was 330'ing quicker than its ever gone and then sideways for the rest of the track after he passes the 330 timing boxes.

New Plug-in Ecu Coming
Swiper the Fox replied to Swiper the Fox's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
it is nice to be nice...i know you know im kidding and i also know your broad shouldered and thick skinned enough to take it. Vi-PEC is a straight plug-in...you have to fit it into a STD ecu case though..or arrange for your dealer to retro fit it before sending it to you. It runs all the factory sensors etc on a GTR...for GTS-t you have to fit the Air temp sensor which is supplied. So yes plug it in and turn key. The 10mm ratchet spanner you use to instal your Power FC can also be used to remove it and fit your new Vi-PEC -
New Plug-in Ecu Coming

How many chip upgrades and firmware upgrades has the Power FC (your beloved) gone through. Whats wrong with keeping a product up to the minute? And constantly adding great features such as closed loop boost control, 4MB of data logging etc... These ECU's can be tuned in minutes...not hours...they are rediculously simple and dont come with a Jap based mega rich base map and in the gts-t's map a timing timebomb. The dealers have a full record of tunes and will pre-load a base map tune to suit your turbo's airflow and your injector size...how good is that...awesome hey. I suggest you go and have a read of former FC lover Guilt-Toy's tuning thread for a bit more actual feedback. its a bit hard for tow-truck driver's mentality i know Jack.. ..one day ill sit you down for a few hours and explain it to you word by word. Hope your 3 layer suit kept you cool -

Whatever the differences/similarities between the two products its Ray's involvement and the dealer support that makes the Vi-pec product so appealing aside from the awesome hardware. -
New Plug-in Ecu Coming
Swiper the Fox replied to Swiper the Fox's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Ok we had a very interesting development today. Ruzic Engineering are currently developing a dash style interface for the Vi-PEC. Paul was loaned a Link G4 Extreme unit to do some data transfer testing with by someone who assumed what some people understandably also assumed...that they are the same thing...guess what? It doesn't speak the Vi-PEC command protocol! Paul was then instructed to load the Vi-PEC firmware into the G4 unit so he could communicate with it. He did this and he could not communicate with it that way either. He then tried to re-instal the Link firmware and it wouldn't accept it. The ECU is now caught in 'limbo' not knowing if its a Vi-PEC or a Link and is no longer an operational unit. When Ray Hall was contacted he again stressed these ECU's do share some components and similar software...but are very different in other areas. -

the Link dealer just quoted me $2200 plus freight for a G4 Storm...that couldn't be right. When i asked if it was the G4 Storm or the G4 Extreme they were quoting on they said they didn't know. When i then enquired on a price for the adapta-link box to make the G4 into a plug-in they said they would have to call Link. If the price they gave me was for a G4 extreme then its the same money as the top of the line Vi-PEC V88. Dont get me wrong here both the Vi-PEC and Link are excellent products. But its no wonder Ray's ECU's are selling like hotcakes...the dealer support was woeful. -

Sard Fuel Pressure Regulators
Swiper the Fox replied to carl h's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
if your only running std base pressure id recommend a stock unit...they work well. Sard ones seem to work just fine too. -
ahh yes...pin 47 rings a bell...i think its the purple wire.
