  1. yes ill take that offer up with him tomorrow. its a weapon too Luke couldnt believe it last time when we told him it was on the low boost setting to run into 1.17 at 17psi.
  2. ahh only shit stiring...im doing a RB25/30 very soon. CP pistons, Argo rods, N1 oil pump, 270 deg cams, TO4Z with a 1.0 rear housing, stainless Jap manifold, Tial external gate, plazmaman plenum, 740cc injectors, Hybrid GTR intercooler, vi-pec ecu, C4 auto etc. Ive got most of the stuff...just got to screw it together You will have no idea what we are putting it in.
  3. I dont know the real reason...im just guessing. Luke is unavailable because of the F1...since Dave found that out ive noticed a change of additude from him towards the event. I suppose i could bring my car and only throttle it on the main straight. That would be fun, but would get boring very quickly but at least id get more time behind the wheel than at an ultra boring drag event.
  4. holy sh1t Bennett thats bloody awesome...i love it. N1 side skirts without seams and the top secret rear diffuser are the only items omitted. It also needs the rear GTR badge deleted. the diffuser is the same as this one...its black but where it covers the rear guard behind the wheel over the body work we painted it silver to match the paintwork dori34 the sticker was made up by a mate of mine...$50 is what he charged me.
  5. yours...im the closet monster you are still frightened of. Dave didn't really say why but he said he wasn't competing...Maybe he is not confident to drive the car as hard as it needs to be to be competitive...i guess ill be smuggling cans in and drinking them out of my jacket pocket with Fatz.
  6. ive thrown RB30 blocks and cranks out...lol got another whole engine given to me the other day because i wanted the oil pump housing off it. dont go RB30...only wankers do that.
  7. yep...the list above is good but forget the rods...totally agree with Ash. When will people finally get through their heads the stock GTR rods are bloody tough and only in the most extreme engines need to be upgraded (and by upgraded i dont mean to cheap chinese sh1t thats probably on par if not worse than re-sized stockers with a bolt upgrade anyway)
  8. you give up too easy...good luck with the sale though.
  9. I have a hypertune 90mm single throttle GTR or RB26 plenum for sale...this item is no longer required and has been price sacrificed to ensure a quick sale. Ive just checked the new price with Hypertune and its $2250 including GST plus freight so it represents a huge saving. $1700 plus freight http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/po...tune-plenum.jpg
  10. I think my warning level should be reduced as it now seems my post about him and his suspension has been vindicated.
  11. pretty sure blitzxtr has one for sale
  12. Red R Racing has a PPG helical dog set in its street/circuit GTR...ill get Dave to post up a comment later today on his thoughts/experience with it.
  13. do a search
  14. good luck with the event tomorrow guys. lucky me will be at work.
  15. do you have a centre console surround that goes around the gearstick and centre gauges?
  16. looks the goods Jason...what's the weight now? mines going to be finished this week and will be firing it up on the weekend.
  17. 11.8 @ 120 using the footbrake and a 2.2 60' er time to turn it up, use the transbrake and get kicked out.
  18. 13.0 he blew the blow off valve line off the plenum and it was stuck open...massive boost leak and not much power. All fixed and he's off to the staging lanes right now.
  19. Yeah im cool with the above post (maybe the 1st line was a little cheeky..but im a cheeky bugger too though and if you cannot take it don't dish it out)...bit more adult than the last. Noel two sides of the story exist though and only one was present here, its a bit unfair that the other side was not publicly known...it now is. In fairness to Jim and Race Clutch ive just made the public aware of the other side...i have no ties to Race Clutch in any way and its widely known i dont use his product anymore. Dave Benm's flywheel was fractured for some time as evidenced by the rust marks along some of the bits of it. I recommend if anyone is using one of Jim's clutches at the very least get their flywheel x-rayed to ensure its serviceable and not place themselves, their vehicle, their safety and/or Jim's reputation at risk. I run a NPC billet clutch and flywheel and run a ballistic blanket as added safety.
  20. im sure that would be ok due to the lower rev range of the 30.
  21. No he still runs a MoTeC M800...i was too going this way too on my drag car but Mark suggested we wait and see if the Vi-PEC was up to all it was touted to be. After doing a few Mark phoned me and said the Vi-PEC is an amazing unit and just as good in my car as what the mega dollar MoTeC would be. He is far more experienced than all of all of on here put together and anyone that has met him or had any dealings with him knows he's a no bullsh1t straight shooter who calls it like it is. Yes Mark has done a few EVO's as well. Overboost cut is another nice feature of the Vi-PEC...whats stoping the Power FC in the unfortunate event of a wastegate hose melting on the manifold, a leak, a split hose or one popping off. Temperatue controlled mapping...only allowing the engine to access parts of the map on start-up to prevent engine wear or shutting parts of the map down due to over-temp conditions. The Power FC is starting to look like a glorified Nistune now isnt it.
  22. Mark Jacobsen at Godzilla Motorsport in QLD is a Vi-PEC dealer and also tunes Power FC. He actually said to me when the Vi-PEC was released he doubted the Vi-PEC would be able to run the engine better than the power fc. He now acknowledges that the vi-pec is a better product.
  23. Yes the world is a very clever place full of very clever people and believe it or not something has been produced in 2008 that is better than something in the 90's. I know its hard to grasp but yes its true. Paul the dealers load up a start-up map configured to their set-up (injectors turbo rev limit etc) that sh1ts all over the mega rich base map that comes with a Power FC, its a straight plug in (mind you it has to be fitted into a STD ecu case which is a job that takes me a few minutes). Its tuned far quicker than the Power fc with lees dyno time and power runs needed to get an optimum tune out of it...no more flogging the car on the dyno to get the Power FC style tuning right. Feature's..what features does a Power FC actually have?..ohh it displays a little light on the dash when your engine is destroying itself. The Vi-PEC has actual knock control that deals with a situation and will actually save an engine not let it keep destroying itself like the good ol' Apexi does. A dash interface/engine monitor is not too far away and will have far more features and uses than Apexi's little plastic toy. My car ran afm's in both multi throttle and single throttle applications..no d-jetro. You are yet another one who has no experience with the Vi-PEC yet you are claiming a "hands down winner" i thought you were a little wiser than that. These guys have no experience with tuning, have no experience with the Vi-PEC ecu and id say have not been open minded enough to actually listen to someone that has gone from Power FC to Vi-PEC as many guys have done. Ahh well the head in the sand approach can sit with them while i enjoy a car that runs better and smoother with my new ECU.
  24. Aww be nice...its nice to be nice Jack 4MB of logging would actually be quite helpful for you. Every single person that has had a Vi-PEC installed makes the comment of how much better and smoother it runs the engine...quite a few of these are old Power FC tragic's like yourselves. Its human nature to be scared of change and something new...but its ok guys to you let yourself go and fly high on the wings of change.
