  1. One thing I would be sure to do if I was to rebuild again would be to increase the ability for the RB20 to drain oil back to the sump !!!! I don't know how but maybe porting the oil drain galleries or the like ( RB25's have a pipe that does this ). Since my rebuild, while on the track running at 6.5k RPM + for extended periods of time, it will fill the cam area up, push oil out, and fill up the catch can pretty quickly. Even though I have a 9L sump on the car I still don't like the idea of that much oil leaving the engine Now I just don't do track days any more. BTW I've got Arias in mine and they are great ( with stock rods ).
  2. Don't know if anyone else is experiencing the following but I've noticed that while using OE100, during days where the ambient temperature is above 28C, I get erratic idle ( hunting and popping ) once at operating temp. Otherwise it drives well. ( on 2nd tank of OE100 ). Got to fill up today so I'm going back to Optimax 98 to see if anything changes.
  3. Champion effort siksII !!!! Can't wait to get my hands on it.
  4. Cheers Peter
  5. Just to clarify, this clutch DOES NOT suit 93 ~ GT-R's.
  6. Hi Peter, Thanks for the fast service ! Just got some Q's. From the black junction box to the laptop I now need a cable to connect. Is there any special requirement for a cable to get ? Also is it OK that one of the plug connectors on the black junction box is lose ? ( moves around in the black box ) Sorry for asking dumbass questions but this stuff is foreign to me Cheers.
  7. Still for sale. Got your PM & will call you
  8. The clutch comes with EVERYTHING you need to install. All you have to do is cut 3mm off the length of your flywheel bolts ( as is the case for ALL O.S.Giken clutches ) and bolt it all in. The flywheel is just a part of the genuine O.S.Giken kit so I really can't comment on it as a separate component. A pair of clutch plates ( NEW ) will cost around $850 or $780 for non-spring dampening plates ( makes it a little less streetable to drive with non-sprung plates ). Shipping to VIC would prol be around the $50 mark ( guessing ).
  9. I would like to have a proper temp sensor bung / boss installed on mine. If that's an issue, I'll bail out and get the $'s back. No hard feelings
  10. No interest ?!?! Maybe EBay or keep as spare........ <_<
  11. That looks like a run-of-the-mill R32 GTS-T Viscous Diff set-up to me. It may have a mechanical diff centre installed but you'll be able to figure that one out easy enough
  12. Chris, Just take yours off and match it with another. It's the best way I found as there are too many different types / brands / pipe connection positions / electrical connections. BTW, my Compressor is a "Kikki Diesel". Then once you've got a replacement compressor, get it overhauled including the electro-magnetic clutch so you'll never need to touch it again
  13. Just my 2 cents........ I have a drain valve installed in one of the oil cooler lines and when I do my oil changes I drain as much as I can from the cooler. I've found that most of the oil does NOT drain back to the sump unless your oil cooler AND lines are mounted above the level of the filter boss on the engine block. Thusly I put a drain valve in place to get more of the old oil out during a change. When I re-fill the sump with oil, I disconnect the ignition control module and crank the engine over for about 5 seconds to pump some oil through the system, then re-connect the ignition and start her up. Oil pressure comes up much quicker so there's less chance of hurting the engine. Yes, you may very well reduce the life of your starter motor but a starter motor is a lot cheaper to replace than a set of bearings
  14. Am I too late ? Also, does it come with the boss installed to screw in the temp probe ? If it's does have the boss and I'm not too late, I'd like to get one please ( Skyline Bolt up 3" ). Cheers, Scott.
  15. I haven't read all the post about this stuff ( so this will prol sound real stupid ) but does Ethanol have anything to do with Sugar Cane ? When I was filling the tank I could smell something that I couldn't identify until yesterday arvo and I'd swear the smell is Sugar Cane !! BTW, drove in this morning ( cool temps ) and the car went like a rocket !! It seems to like the taste of OE100
  16. Old thread but I'll thow my 2 cents in I've just installed an O.S.Giken TSR2CD Twin Plate Clutch and so far I'm impressed !! It has a MUCH lighter pedal feel than the old TS2C/D and TS2B/D. It has the same feel as a stock GT-R clutch ( which takes a lot of getting used to ). It's still rated to 600hp at the engine and is very driveable. The new clutch kit comes with a new release bearing and carrier already assembled. Cost is around the $2k mark but is SO worth it when you next get caught in traffic BTW If anyone wants a really good 2nd hand O.S.Giken Twin Plate Clutch that will hold up to 250rwkw for R31, R32 or R33 at a great price, PM me
  17. What Blitz said !! And if you doubt the quality of thsee intercoolers that are coming out of China, give Steve a call at Just Jap and he'll tell you about the facility they are built in and the quality control testing they put each and every intercooler through before releasing them for use. With that said though, in general, I still don't condone the way that one company spends big $'s on R & D only to have their product copied ( sometimes very poorly ) by some sweat shop in China !!
  18. I thought the part number for an NGK O2 sensor to suit a HCR32 was OTD2F-P1P ?!?!
  19. To start with, I've been running on Optimax 98 for the last 5 years so I know what my car is like under all conditions with that fuel. Also, I run a pretty rich A/F mixture normally ( if that means anything in this comparison ). Well, I chucked 20L of OE100 in yesterday early arvo and have since put 60km on the car. First thing I noticed was a slightly different smell from the exhaust and after about the first 10 km's it started idling a bit better. I've since opened her up and gone for it ( paying carefull attention to any pinging etc ) and it goes as well ( if not a little better ) than it has in the past. So......I think I'll continue to roll with the new Extreme 100 for a while and see what happens B.T.W. RB20DET w/ Arias Forgies, 550cc injectors, HKSGT2535, Chipped ECU, 1.2bar boost.
  20. !. You might be able to get replacement NISMO parts from NISSAN or an Internet supplier like nengun but I would assume that she ain't too healthy if you're at the point of severe slipping so you might not get away with plates and a release bearing. 2. That flywheel will not work for anything but it's intended use so get a stock flywheel from a wreckers and away you go
  21. So has anyone actually done the rear wheel bearing on a R32 GTS-T ? Mine is starting to make some noise Does anyone have the genuine nissan part number please ?
  22. All PM's replied to. Just to clarify, This WILL go in an R32 GT-R so long as it has a PUSH type clutch and will suit a GT-R that does not have big mods as it's rated to 480hp ( 350kw ) at the engine. Also, the clutch has had an easy life ( no drags or burouts ) so the metal friction faces are VERY good !! Would take well to a new set of plates. And yes I will sell / send interstate if no local buyers come up. Cheers.
  23. I'm 99.9% sure it will not fit any CA's or SR's. Sorry.
  24. Cheers for that Pete & Chris. And as for that "arse" comment.....I'll take any compliment I can get !!!
