  1. if near rockingham, i got a set to borrow to, good enough to get over the pits
  2. i've been driving for 20 years now and mine still scares me sometimes, and it is still in the lower end of the power scale.
  3. i had the auto in mine for about a year, then done a conversion and have had that for a couple of years. sometimes i miss the auto , nice and smooth for cruising, but then slam a few gears and it all goes away.
  4. sound like a over pressurized sump to me. 2 things would have happened, blown rings or ring landings, high reving pressurized sump but little to no damage (very lucky). chuck some more oil in her and if it is still blowing a engine rebuild is needed. could also do a compression test first.
  5. had mine in for about a year now, had to modify the crap out of it to get it where i like it, cut the shifter in half and welded on the top of my original to cut the noise down (original rubber dampener fitted) and modified the clamping area as it put to much pressure on the nylon bush on the fulcrum ball causing the movement to be really tight. tis lovely now. feels like original shifter with less throw

ha ha ha , i had one of those (not like that though) got rid of it cause i couldnt get any parts, not even a air cleaner.
  7. i got what you are talking about and have 270rwhp or 200rwkw at 11 psi. wont go any more though! definitely put a fuel pump in . get around 12 to 13 L / 100, depends how i drive. is your car a auto Strik3r?

  9. a golf day, good idea

  13. yeh, what steve said
  14. its a choice i spose, i have mine this way too, i prefer a clean stock looking engine bay compared to 2 more rwhp due to more restrictions in my pipework
  15. a wet and dry compression test would be good, were all the plugs rusted or just 1, was this the one with low compression? do you go to sleep (4.37am post)
  16. u can have a cut in your head gasket from your cylinder to water jacket and miss your oil gallery's. remove your radiator cap and warm your engine up. if you are getting bubbles in the radiator or excessive water out your exhaust and having to fill radiator all the time it will be the head gone. i had one car that had so bad of a head gasket blown it actually got a hydraulic lock up in the engine and wouldn't turn over. also take the oil filler cap off when the engine running. if excessive air pressure coming out of here that can point to blow by. hope some of this info helps. by the info you have given , sounds like the engine has gone anyway
  17. the safc2 is only a piggy back to the ECU. to replace the stock ECU you will need to go to a power fc, haltec, e-manage, EMS. these will cost from 1500 up to buy, and 500 up to fit and tune.
  18. what power did you make on your dyno run Ryan

    Wow

good 1 stinky cant be as bad as the place where we originated from Dale
  20. is the knock there continuous, or a spike. i get spikes up to 170 on my safc if i boot the car and then quickly let it off. can happen at drags as well at end of track at top speed. maybe also a bad batch of fuel. had that too, would get little spikes anywhere from 35 up to 70. wouldn't see it knock, only on peak hold.
  21. hey Daniel, wot sort of power did u get out of that setup. looking at the same setup for my 33
  22. Pal

    Wow

    anyone play enemy territory??
  23. 200 aint enough, 250 is a much better power level for a r33
