  1. well done Rowah,Jason and Socrates. was more than double my expectations of the amount of cars and size of the event. look forward to the next one!
  2. spark plug adjuster tool = a quick tap on the bench brake bleeder spanner = 8mm spanner or whatever size it is. i would get 3/8 set before 1/4. i only get 1/4 set out once or twice a month compared to 3/8 daily. as jonno said earlier throw wheels under the car instead of stands if you have space.or blocks of wood. you wont need tension wrenches yet.
  3. hey mate i just realised your in bunbury...let me know if you cant figure it out and you can bring it around on the weekend
  4. there is probably little difference between sidchrome/kinchrome vs the repco brand apart from the feel of them. anything apart from the dirt cheap stuff will be fine. buying a kit would probably be cheaper in the long run but depends how much you can afford at a time. if your garage is too small just dont bite off more than you can chew. or start bringing your projects inside like me
  5. if its just a couple put up some pics here or in the Japan area and someone might be able to help.
  6. do it Arthur...then let me know whats needed to make it fit
  7. i dont recommend cheaping out on spanners. you dont need top dollar stuff but $10 set of 20 spanners will let go on those occasions when you really put some weight on them. a set of combination spanners such as kinchrome, sidchrome, jbs etc as previous suggested will last you a lifetime. stanley screwdriver sets are usually about $30 for 10 or so and are very durable. socket sets are another essential. from what ive seen the weakest link in a cheap set is the ratchet so either get a cheaper set and buy a good ratchet/breaker bar separately or just buy a half decent set from the start. other things like pliers cutters etc i usually go cheapish as i lose them all the time. i havent had a pair of sidecutters longer than a couple months. if you have already been going to m`mates place and doing some jobs you probably already know what tools you need first

  9. grey 33 4 door going through Dalyellup 4pm
  10. saw a black 34 gtt up ahead in traffic today in bunbury at the picton lights. had no rear wing
  11. unlikely the motor as intermittent and low speed should power up the same terminal. on my 33 there is a brown box mounted on the side of the engine bay near the motor which im guessing is intermittent relay but ive never had wiper dramas so not sure exactly how its wired up. if 32`s have that box see if anything powers up when switch is in intermittent position
  12. how hard did this hit the back pocket? significantly more than collar?
  13. spotted a dark stock looking 33 just before lunch going past the park centre in bunbury towards town. footy club number plates wine red 33 with white front bar 5pm at wollaston iga.
  14. hey joel, is your cannister about coke can size with 4 ports? mine has port in bottom goes halfway down chassis rail and vents. port in top middle comes from tank. 2 ports on purge valve one joins into my boost controller line and other i think joins in near throttle body. its all packed away and i dont feel like pulling it all out this time of night. goodluck
  15. those relays i mentioned earlier are behind the ecm facing outwards...but i still dont know if they are for the ecm but would be most likely and worth a try
  16. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/301992-diy-fix-cluncking-noise-in-dash-r33s/page__st__40__p__5639297__hl__frog__fromsearch__1#entry5639297 sounds like one of the vent actuator motors perhaps...
  17. i take it you mean whenever you start the aircon it makes a loud clicking? repeated or single click? if its a single click then dont be worried. some compressors are louder than others when pulling in.not belt squeal is it? if it repeatedly clicks its likely you are low on gas or have wiring dramas.
  18. when i pulled out the harness in my 33 there was 2 relays under glovebox jammed in the corner. i would imagine one is for the ecm and other maybe air con. if you have them too try disconnect or swap them
  19. your charger may not kick in if the charge in the battery has fallen below a certain voltage. but then if your batt voltage is that low and has been sitting for a while its prob not recoverable. a sitting battery usually wont die if it still has a charge but a flat battery will die quickly if left sitting
  20. white 33 gtst parked across from holden dealership. i think it was charles st? was near northbridge. 1pm silver 34 albany hwy vic park 2pm had L plates up silver v35 in front of me down canning hwy from como-fwy exit 230pm wine red 33 on freeway near safety bay rd northbound.mature aged gent driving? 3pm
  21. it wasnt. not sure if i did it how you wanted. i loaded ubuntu onto usb then restarted from usb and ubuntu loaded and 2 minutes later crashed. is there a different way to do it? safemode with network never crashes
  22. still crashes in ubuntu. i guess its hardware but something disabled in safemode...hmmm
  23. thanks for the help guys. will try after dinner!! you guys were up early!
  24. Since i never painted the engine bay when i changed the car colour i was pretty keen to hook into this, didnt take any pics before though, after cleaning it up i hit it with 4 coats of matte black followed by 3 coats of clear to give a bit of gloss ended up finding 4 valve stem seals leaking 5 pistons had broken ringlands and you can see number 6 is missing a piece from the crown
