  1. running the auto on a dyno can be a pain. you either leave it in second and it smokes the wheels, or you try doing the run in 3rd, and hope it dosent kick back at high revs. There is a solution.. on the driver side in the engine bay near the radiator. down near the chassis rail, there are three eletrical plugs. if you disconnect the brown plug your car will only have 3rd gear. which is 1 : 1 or 4th in a manual. make sure you tell the dyno operator that he now only has third and can slowly build up to about 60kph then give it to it. it makes dyno time so much smoother and far less stress will be placed on your trans.. i hope this helps a few people. Darren
  2. the ONLY thing you need to worry about when first starting a fresh rebuild is oil pressure. when you have the engine on a engine stand, and before you bolt the sump on, pour some oil into the pickup "with the motor upside down" and get a friend to slowly turn the crank around so the oil pump can a: prime itself b: pump oil to the crank and other essential areas that oil is required. it only takes a couple of minutes but you will never have any oil pressure issues on first startup. I hate to say it but its spanner time for you.
  3. when it started the first time how much oil pressure did it have ? ANY ?
  4. hmmmm... poor flow huh...
  5. ive given it a good blast with contact cleaner.. waited half an hour as the can says and only a slight improvement. 1.8 volts. once i reved it a couple of times it went back over 2 volts.
  6. would being dirty cause it to be fine to 317kw one day and not even idle the next day? im heading down the street so i will grab some contact cleener and give it a whirl.
  7. if i try to bounce the revs up and down it seems to get higher every time it drops back to idle
  8. PFC under AFM is on vh41
  9. ingnition only = .160v it starts around .350v then counts down. when running its up in the low 2.2 - 2.4 volt range
  10. well yes... look who is asking the question. im trying to problem solve why im getting a reading of 2.4volts at idle. you said the other day that it should be below 1v at idle.
  11. can someone who has a q45 AFM and a PFC please go out and start your car and tell me what the voltage is at idle? thank's heaps in advance.
  12. Bosch motorsport 044 3 days and not very happy..... im just glad it didnt dye when i had the car on the rollers at 24psi.
  13. so what happens when your at full boost and the fuel pump stops... ouch!!!!!!!! i hope anyone that has a 044 doesnt likes there pistons very much. instantly engine runs lean and boom...
  14. new prob no fuel pressure on my sard rising rate FPR. pump starts up and runs for a couple of seconds then turns off but know fuel pressure at the engine bay. 3 day old 044 grrrr
  15. AFM voltage at idle is between 1.85v an 1.92v THR is at .45V and yes there is several things that are black in the sensor check i will take a pic
  16. Im Having both fuel pressure issues, and its running like a pig. constant black smoke and smells like raw fuel from exhaust. all cylinders running 150 psi. im guessing q45 AFM might have clagged up. any thoughts? S1 r33 GTST
  17. how old is boostworx dyno? why dont we organise a day at hi tek dyno. at least we know it will be strapped on properly. no wheel spin..
  18. 044 mounted in tank and is hardly audible at all.. "spelling" you just have to mount it properly " im drunk.....
  19. do you want me too? "repeat" im really drunk....
  20. im really drunk so ignore anything i say but, i was origonally looking at a 3037, but for $3000 it was hard to go past the garret for $2050.
  21. Hey nismoid how does that compare to your car with standard cams?
  22. how munch power do you have these days Paul?
  23. Go the Auto!!!!!! its very predictable.. you can cruise around off boost and its so nice to drive, yet point it in a straight line and boot it and it changes up into top gear rather quickly. All good.. big smile.. i have dropped it back to 20psi as i said i would, but its nice to know that its there if i need it.
  24. in regards to KI how bout i take my 2004 turbo triton with a big ass bull bar to take care of any kritters and everyone else follows behind. It even has a beer fridge.
