Mundine celebrated before the FINAL BELL rang, let alone the decision. He celebrated with 10 seconds to go in the fight, and ran away from Eckles with time left on the clock. After asking the ref, Eckles had to chase after Mundine and try to resume the fight, but Mundine would have nothing to do with it, just looking over at his corner with his hands up in the air...

I didn't really understand that ping pong analogy, but I think I know what you meant anyway And for the record, UFC > boxing

I was okay at boxing... But I like to cross train, so that's why I've trained in BJJ, Judo and now Karate... I like using my legs as well as my hands. I didn't say Mundine was lucky. Why put words in my mouth? Did I not say in my VERY FIRST POST that I acknowledged that Mundine was a quick little bastard? I believe I did. Thank you. Using that speed, and the "backtrack backtrack jab, backtrack, bracktrack jab" technique has was able to land more scoring punches than Eckles, who from the outset was looking for a KO. He even announced that he was going to try and knock Mundine out in the 5th round..... Pity he couldn't catch him :bahaha: Mundine wasn't the "better fighter" by a long shot. He just landed more scoring punches and based on that, the judges had to give him the decision, and I agree with the decision. There is no way in HELL that Mundine is a better boxer though.

The undercard Gurkan Ozkan fight was eleventy BILLION times more entertaining... I've seen Ozkan fight many MANY fights as a kickboxer and he's excellent, but he's still reverting back to his karate and kickboxing roots where he just loads up his right hand and leads with his left as a distraction... Doesn't work as well when you don't have your legs to follow through as well though... But DAMN he's entertaining I watched the fight with the nephew of Ozkan's trainer and they reckon he'll be the next one to take on Danny Green. He knocked Mundine out of the ring in training last week and Mundine threw a hissy fit... HAHAHAHAHA... Anyway... Should be interesting to see how Ozkan's boxing career goes.

Perhaps if he came out from the bell doing that, but he didn't. He came out with a full guard, and tried to box properly... By the 4th round, he had reverted back to his instincts which were not honed from professional boxing. He completely dropped his guard and was just basically backtracking throughout the entire fight. Whatever. That was just a fcuked fight.

Franks, you really have to stop undermining other people when discussing topics. All it does is detract from the point you're putting forward. I boxed for 6 years, when I was younger, how many years boxing experience do you have? If you had any fight experience, you'd know how just how little it takes to create a flesh wound like Eckles got. Flesh bruises VERY easily and all it takes is a quick jab to the face in a meaty part (in this case the flesh under the eye) to make it swell up in defence. That is the body's natural reaction to injury. I've missed punches to the head, and just glanced alongside the cheek and split it wide open. Human flesh is VERY easy to make swell up, and is NO indication of hurting the opponent (although it does disable them during the fight). ... and that's all Mundine was doing. Hands down, no guard and throwing wild jabs from the sides whilst backtracking constantly... He was even backtracking in the LAST ROUND!!!! That was *NOT* boxing. He was out there to win a "World Title" (snicker) and that's what he did. He did exactly what he had to do to win it, and I'll pay that (even though it disgusted me)... If you saw the 1999 Hopkins vs. Eckles fight, you'd know just how much punishment Eckles can take and remain standing. It's incredible. Mundine didn't have the power to even faze Eckles, let alone knock him out... When Eckles lost his composure, it was PURELY out of frustration because he couldn't catch Mundine who was always backing away, and then stepping forward with defensive jabs to keep Eckles at bay, and then backing away again. There is no way that Mundine would ever have knocked Eckles out. He just doesn't have the strength, and he knew that. There were only two possible outcomes from this fight: 1. Eckles KO's Mundine and wins by result. 2. It goes the distance and Mundine wins by points. Mundine recognised this, as did thousands of other people and he did what he had to to win the fight.

Most useless fight ever. That wasn't boxing. Hands dropped to the side of his body, no guard up, and keep running. That was NOT boxing. Recipe for World Title: Rule 1. RUN RUN RUN. If they can't catch you, they can't win. Throw a few swipes (he's quick, I'll give him that, but no power or strength) and then quickly clinch so Eckles can't retaliate. Then proceed to hold Eckles EVERY FCKUING TIME and wind down the clock... If you feel like it, throw in a cheap shot as the clinch is broken up by the referee. Repeat for 12 rounds.

You guys arguing that Old Pac is just as dangerous as illegal drags aren't comparing apples to apples. I know that Nick takes it quite easy up the Old Pac, and the speed at which he drives it is quite safe. The way that VISHES, Kabab, and [Ken] drive it is a LOT harder and a lot more dangerous. I was in front of my cousin when he lost control and spun onto the other side of the road whilst doing an Old Pac run. He's very very lucky that there wasn't another group doing an "Old Pac run" coming the other direction. I think we can all imagine the carnage that would result in two cars hitting whilst fanging up the Old Pac in opposite directions. During my younger years, I used to hit some insane speeds on the Old Pacific Hwy, and looking back on it, there is no other word to describe it than "insanity". Pure and simple. I don't even hit those speeds on the straight of Eastern Creek Insanity.

Xforce Titanium exhaust
Merli replied to mrskyline777's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Not a bad price... A photo would be great if you can manage... [email protected] Would have to check that it'll fit an R33 GTR though... Seems like some exhausts do and some don't fit both GTS-t and GTR -
I know you were joking, but please don't ever associate or label me in the street drag racing crowd. You know very well how against street racing I am. I'm not l33t enough to street race.

The best thing to ever happen to me was when I moved into a powerful car. 280rwkw is a lot to handle, and it teaches you to be EXTREMELY careful where, and when to plant that throttle. Before, I had slower cars (Mazda Astina V6, Proton GTi, etc) and I found myself wringing the neck out of those bastards because I had something to prove... Nearly every traffic light I'd take off with vigour. When I moved into the Skylines, I had nothing to prove, and my driving became much more sensible and mature. Racktrack experience also helped more than I can stress, because it shows you the limits of your car, and when happens when you exceed those limits. I agree with Tosh in that much more driver training is needed to gain your drivers licence. Did you know you could easily get your P's without ever driving in the rain or at night? That's utterly ridiculous. Also, I took my driving test in an automatic. My Learners and Provisional licences were restricted to automatic cars only, but as soon as I got my Silver Licence, they removed that restriction. Apparently driving an automatic car for 2 years gives you the ability to drive manual cars Nothing beats experience and that's what Learner driver training should give you. At the moment, it doesn't give you sh1t.

Merli replied to sidewaymambo's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I've been running my GTS-t upto 8000rpm for the last year, and it's still going 100%... Compression test is PERFECT. They're pretty tough engines -

Is there something you'd like to tell us Phillip?

Actually, I remembered that Peter (ADVAN built Maroon R33 - "DA MAN") had painted RB26 rocker covers, and I found this photo of his engine that I took... http://photos.fortheboyz.com/0211sasfinal/..._IMG.jpg&page=1 I'll give Peter Hopkins @ ADVAN a call and see if he knows where it was done... Looks like a top notch job!

Thanks for the help guys... It has to be EXACTLY R34 RB26 red... I am trying to get the paint code (hopefully tomorrow), either that, or I can borrow someone's R34 spark plug cover to get the panel beaters to paint match... It can't be just *any* maroon red
-
Expensive? I can't see it being more than a couple of hundred bucks, but yeah, more expensive than VHT As for time off the road, if they don't stuff around it shouldn't take more than 2 days, 3 at the most...
-
That's right, I want mine done in R34 RB26 Red, so a can of spray paint will NOT suffice. I want it done properly by a professional panel beater/painter who has done it before and knows what their doing

Has anyone in Sydney had his rocker covers painted? Got some pics? Would you recommend them to me, and if so, what are their contact details? North Shore or Eastern Suburbs Sydney preferred. Thanks in advance.
