  1. どういたしまして ^_^
  2. Ahhh... I see... Nope, It's actually an option in Windows... You install two locations. Australia, and Japan. And it installs character sets for both languages on your computer. You get a little toolbar where you can choose your lanugage set and the same thing happens when you choose Japanese. Type in bakamono and you get ばかもの... No need for 3rd party software, Windows does it all
  3. What kanji kit? it's just a japanese language pack...
  4. Quite possibly He's such a character When I met him last year at Tokyo Auto Salon, he was drawing his little Uras Monkey on the cover of his catalogs and signing them for people and taking photos with them. He looks just like a monkey
  5. That was katakana, not kanji... Katakana is the japanese character set used for words borrowed from other languages, like "drift" And yeah, I installed the Japanese Language/Regional Settings in Windows and I'm able to swap between english and japanese (all three character sets) すごいですね!! ^_^
  6. pokemon = pocket monster.

  8. ドリフト - Dorifuto That's Japanese for "Drift". And that "cat" is actually a monkey... As mentioned, it's the symbol of the drifting company Uras, which is "Saru" backwards, which means "monkey". Why? Because Nomura-san the owner of Uras........... looks like a monkey
  9. You use too much fake photoshop blur Ed A little less would make it look much better!!
  10. I'm sorry mate, but that isn't like any HKS manifold I've ever seen before... I'm not sure how it'll go with the split pulse manifold going to a single inlet GT3037 either... Might be interesting to say the least
  11. There you go Steve... You have to get a T88-34D now It's been decided and it's final And GTR-Ben, grab 0.87 exhaust housing for your turbo... it's relatively cheap, a straight bolt on that you can do with minimal tools, and find out!!! But yes, it sounds like you'd be restricting your engine's top end breathing with that sized exhaust compressor.
  12. Series 1 Headlights usually go for $500-600/pair, and are quite rare to be seen up for sale. There is a big market for them from all the guys who smash the fronts of their cars. You CANNOT buy these headlights for $140/pair from Nissan They're more like $800/pair for the series 1 headlights and $1500/pair for the series 2 headlights. How do I know? Because I have bought Series 1 headlights new from Nissan before at trade price and quoted out the Series 2 ones, but balked at the ridiculous price.
  13. Goddammit.
  14. They come when you buy the HKS dump pipes
  15. Here's the HKS exhaust manifold for the RB25DET. Notice how smooth the bends are, whilst taking the most direct path to the turbo.. Oh..... and they're nice and shiny too
  16. Just to clarify this one too, That's an exhaust manifold for a much larger turbo, one with a twin scroll exhaust compressor. See how it doesn't actually merge into one opening at the turbo flange? It's seperated and stays as two different exhaust pulses... In the HKS range, the only turbos with twin scroll exhaust housings are the T04R, T04S and the new T04Z... Even the T51R KAI/SPL have one opening, albeit a massive vband attachment The HKS exhaust manifold for an RB25 with more reasonably sized turbo won't look anything like this one pictured above.
  17. They are great prices... I'll take a Bosch 044... Are you doing these individually or in one big go? If one big go, when are you looking at making the purchase?
  18. Just to clear this up: I was using an HKS GT3040 (0.87 exhaust housing) on an HKS exhaust manifold with Tial external wastegate. My engine was completely stock. That is, stock cams, gaskets, EVERYTHING. I did buy some JUN 264/272 cams for it, but I decided that they were too big, and I decided to sell the car anyway, so they never made it into the engine. Boost started to build from 2500rpm, and I had 1.2 bar by 4000rpm. This dropped to 3800rpm after I installed an HKS exhaust cam gear. I would predict 1.8 bar by about 4500rpm or less. With a larger exhaust camshaft, you should really be getting boost earlier than I was!
  19. Bah... I just wrote out a long explanatory post, but you seem to know it all already, so I don't want to waste your time. Okay, here's what I think. If you do a 6-1 collection at the end of the manifold, you have 6 different exhaust gasses coming from 6 different directions, all fighting to go into that one tube at the end.. Result? Turbulence, and hence backpressure and (even greater) reduced gas velocity. Coupled with your extra long runners, you've slowed the exhaust gas quite considerably. Whereas if you take a look at the HKS exhaust manifold, from memory, it's a 6-2-1 design, or something like that. If you merge 3 pipes into 1, you can have a much tighter grouping, with exhaust gasses going in the same general direction... With the 6-1, you have gasses from cyl 6 and cyl 1 hitting each other from nearly opposite directions!! The 6-2 grouping is done very close to end 2-1 grouping, so you have to look twice to notice it, but it's there.
  20. I'm just wondering why the GTR has it's own category, and the others don't? There are more R33 GTS-ts in the club than R33 GTRs, so surely they deserve their own category? Same goes for R32 GTS-ts... Not sure where to lump the GT-ts, GTS4s, GTS-X, GTS-Rs, Silhouettes, etc though... Not sure there are enough in the club to warrant their own category in each case? How about: Best R31 Skyline Best R32 Skyline GTS-t Best R32 GTR Best R33 GTS-t Best R33 GTR Best R34 Skyline I dunno... I'm sure I'll piss someone off with those suggestings, but they are based purely on my percieved numbers of each type in the group, and gropuing them into decent sized groups to make the categories worthwhile!! Just throwing ideas around
  21. I spotted a midnight purple GTR in Longueville... It was uncanny... Exactly like my one!!!!! You'll never believe where I saw it though......... IN MY GARAGE!!!! How freaky is that???
  22. Absolutely... To elaborate, by theory, the ATESSA computer also has two G-sensors to measure, as blind_elk said: lateral and longitudinal forces. That is, to see how the car is moving. Longitudinal is pretty straight forward. It uses the lateral sensor to monitor cornering g-forces and to try and "predict" when the car is going to oversteer whilst cornering, before it actually starts to oversteer. Reason being it wants to feed torque to the front wheels so when you do eventually break rear traction and oversteer, your front wheels are already there pulling the car out of the oversteer. My friend Yang and I, both with R33 GTR VSpecs, have tried this out at Wakefield Park, and we noticed that the ATESSA is a little slow to activate the front wheels... In fact, not only does it not feed torque to the front before oversteer, it waits until about half a second-ish AFTER you've already started to oversteer before the front wheels start pulling. By that stage you've already got the rear end out quite a bit, and washing off speed, instead of blasting out of the corners... This is with standard suspension, so bodyroll was extremely evident... I'll give it another try shortly, after I get some proper suspension put in... Perhaps it will be able to monitor g-forces more accurately because bodyroll won't be absorbing some of the g-forces measured in-cabin. Anyone else have some track experiences with their GTRs/GTS-4s they can share?
