  3. hey chris, well it isnt a whole hks turbo kit at all, i got the hks t04z by itself, after i already had purchased the trust s/s manifold, and hks 50mm wastegate. also made the wastegate pipe and exhuast at home in 3". i plan on plumbing in the gate if its too loud but not yet until i see exactly how loud it will be hope that was of some help cheers Brad
  4. ahaha yes i did at first stock nissan thermostat at the moment, just worried about heat on the dyno doing power runs and tuning for around 17-18psi (after run in) intercoolers r soo damn pricey and im sick of spending cash on this thing haha, its getting beyond a joke with all the parts needed to run properly

  8. hehe, no worries thanx mate, and the oil filter is heaps out of the way above the swaybar almost so its got no hope off being hit as the sump/ xmember is way lower. only bad issues is i got a stock gtr cooler on it at the moment, and no oil cooler (only 9L sump) so whats the opinions on that for the initial tune/and tune after run in of around 500rwhp. might get an oil cooler, but im sure the gtr cooler could manage 500rwhp for the moment??? dangerous and risky or what? B)
  9. dont forget jun oil pump and a decent water pump (n1) on those prices from r31 nismoid, i reckon 15k doesnt get ya far when u add up all the bits u dont even think about! i mean ive spent atleast 3-4k on little silicone hose, braided line, nuts/bolts, etc etc... i did all the labour myself and sourced all parts and its very pricey even without billet crank, etc. 20k should be enough for a good reliable setup and worst thing is to skimp on the important bits and later on it can cost the whole engine. happy building, its a slow/anxious process
  10. its about a week from being finished and ready to book it in for the initial run in tune heres a few pics of some interesting bits.... this is the coilpack setup with 6 msd coilpacks mounted under the coil cover neatly heres one of the cooler pipes in all its shining glory, polished like a mirror under the stagea, and remote oil filter setup is shown, and 9L sump wastegate exhaust outlet pipe vented to the atmosphere thats all for the moment Brad
  11. hey mate, sounds interesting so whats the new setup? any particular reason y he doesnt want to use the mercury coils and leads, besides him being unfamiliar with them? any more info appreciated adam, is their problems with the setup or just precaution for his piece of mind? cheers Brad
  12. i just bought some nightshades today, whether i do it i dont know yet, worried about getting a defect and then having to try and hunt down some more lights.
  13. uni joint if it pulls in and out, and im not sure how to replace them exactly as i havent done one before. wheel bearing is more wheel wobbling left to right and loose when wiggled (when off the ground). sorry for saying wheel bearing, just didnt think properly, but i'd suggest take it down to a suspension shop and they should tell u in 2 sec what it is exactly without em removing anything if they know what they are doing to be 100% sure, as u say u dont wanna replace bits and find it still clunks. oh also do u have the FAST program for the stagea series 1? do u know where i could download it from for free? cheers Brad
  14. im 99% sure short motor is just the bottom end complete, and long is head and bottom end without accessories (no manifolds, etc)
  15. hey mate do u mean the diff front plate seal, or the sump to engine seal is leaking? the diff front plate is piss easy and the other is a pain in the arse. just take front plate off, add gasket goo from nissan and put back on
  16. hey mate what size is the oil cooler, and what size lines? -10 or -12? where was it mounted in the car? drivers side of front bar? braided lines? any pics? Brad
  17. 0 boost for the last 8 months haha, and before that was 18psi with 350rwhp for about a month, and before that it was stock 7psi with the rb25. soon to run 17-18psi as a base tune, and then in a few months hoping to put in over 2bar and push the t04z to its limit
  18. arrh k, no sorry i dont remember u exactly, had lots of lookers for the VL in the end, and how do i go about value, is it the reciepts u have for brand new parts added up or what? ill definately be in contact when i get it running again
  19. hey mate, do u happen to work at just cars? i've actually spent around 35k on the car in the past 6 months (thats just parts, not the car itself, not the rb26 engine conversion, and not labour) how would i go about getting it valued for more than that? its getting out of control and last thing i want is it getting stolen and losing 30K worth of gear cause its only insured for 30K, 30k wouldnt even cover a stock rb26 conversion at all, let alone the engine build, brembo brakes, susp, etc etc. any info appreciated Brad

  21. hey guys im just finishing the last touches to my exhuast dump pipe to cat section and i want to know if you guys with big single high mounts are using a flexi pipe on the exhuast to stop the weight onto the manifold and possibly cause cracking/stress on it. my exhuast is 3" mild steel, wastegate is totally seperate pipe (external gate) so yes or no? oh and the manifold is a trust s/s one, if that makes any difference. cheers Brad
  22. haha i know, showing it at car shows, etc will mean people will get to know whats done to it, which im not sure if thats what i'd like. theft would be a killer, as i cant insure it for what i've spent, thats for sure! ive got a daily driver as well, so any dodgy areas and the stagea stays in my garage. if it was a 32 gtr then people automatically think its quick (which it is), and theives dont want to steal volvo wagons over gtr's thats for sure
  23. the heat wrap tape tends to go brittle and breaks off once hot a few times and gets touched by your arm or something, and it makes ya bloody itchy. how much is it to coat a dump pipe and the cat part of the exhuast (single 3" it is) roughly? cheers Brad
  24. amen to that comment... dont think a 18k gtr is gonna be decent either, more like around 30k for a decent condition and running one.
