  1. that looks really really low, suprised if it doesnt get ripped off from speedhumps, steep driveways. mines the same but much more tucked in for more clearance, heres a pic...
  2. cheers for the info roy, i didnt really think about it getting too hot down their with the heat tape on the exhuast, but its been 8 months since ive even seen a turbo run, so i may be under estimating the heat produced dont want unlimited boost now do we im planning on getting one of those exhuast control valves to adjust exhuast volume level from in the car, for even more of a sleeper, and especially when going through RBT's and being pulled over by cops. plus keeping my neighbourhood happy when i come home in the early hours of the morning. also i dont think the coilpacks will work with the ignitor setup. i had stock coils up until i got the autronics CDI unit and now i can chuck the ignitor pack out and just use the msd coils
  3. they look awesome, good work, r they easy to scratch? might do that to my covers cause im sick of rebuffing em
  4. maybe cause i want something different, not just another gtr. i want to park it up with people not knowing its fast, which cant be said for any model skylines and people automatically think they are fast, hence more getting stolen, or damaged from jeleous morons. the motor wont always be in the stagea anyway, as it come out of a vl calais b4, and 2wd is just a waste of time, and r32 gtrs r too old with things looking dated (interior wise) and i dont like 33's at all, and 34's r mad but way too pricey. i wasnt personally having a dig at 600hp's setup, i only asked the question as to why he went sooo big that was all? its pretty lame that u get shit from just asking a simple question, isnt that the point of the forums? are we all supposed to just say thats awesome, and never find out y he is actually choosing it?
  5. good luck with it, just wondering y the extreme change from the most streetable turbos on the market to the most laggiest of the lot? more power i guess? surely u aint gonna be using the t88 to its potential so y not something b/b and abit smaller, or isnt lag an issue? cheers Brad
  6. i reckon going cheap on an oil cooler is a huuugee risk, and china branded stuff isnt always top quality as u might know, and imagine poping an end tank off the oil cooler or blowing a line off, and your engine = f*kt id rather no oil cooler than one that could be made by some dodgy chinaman who earns 2c a week, somehow i dont think they give 2 shits about quality control each to their own, and no i havent seen them fail personally but ive been warned by plenty of people to stay well away from china oil cooler setups. cheers
  7. thats true i reckon, most of the front bars etc look way too fat and square and deep to the ground but thats just my opinion
  8. my clutch is a twin plate i was using when i had the rb26 in 2wd in my vl calais using a 2wd gearbox, so as long as the push/pull setup is right i cant see a problem.
  9. haha u can say that again good things come to those who wait
  10. hey mate easiest option is to chop the front support bar abit to alow it to come forward and therefore keeping the air con fan etc in place. its not visable from outside with bumper on so cops cant defect u or nuthin, and its strong as hell and only holding the bumper.
  11. he is talking about Paul T's car not my stagea where would i go without 4wd to the tyre shop alot haha
  12. maybe cause they finally got a half decent car to race in now, rather than the banger v8s they like the turbo plus still lookin like a family car turbo is new technology to most of the owners haha, now they know what they been missing for sooo many years.
  13. im very very suprised that people are voting for the series 1 over the series 2 i thought i just had bad taste, and expected everyone to say the series 2 is way better and series 1's are crap good to see varying opinions, as all series 2's on the road or just series 1's would be abit boring now wouldnt it
  14. looks nice mate, love the black bonnet and tinted taillights, bet the cops dont though i'd like a carbon fibre bonnet with big vents in it i reckon would look sweet as on a stagea (though it defeats the sleeper purpose all together, haha ) so what bodykit is it? how much...etc?? good luck with it mate Brad
  15. run in tune is now booked for the 16th march more pics check em out.... 3" exhuast with heat wrap, plus the hks 50mm wastegate with 2" screamer pipe to annoy the neighbours my heat shield to keep hot air from the turbo away from the inlet path, it is going to seal hard against the bonnet (with rubber edging) to prevent any hot air entering:) i have a 4" feed coming from the front bumper to supply the pod with cool air. monster pod filter, biggest i can fit, its got a 6" inlet, 8" overall diameter and 30cm long. msd coilpacks mounted on custom bracket setup (sit in same position as stock coils and the top cover still fits on like standard, except last coil for cylinder 6 has gotta be on the slight angle as u can see from the pics to clear the cover, though im cutting a hole where the ignitor sits and putting mesh in it to let hot air out of the coilpack area) fibreglass air duct made for front bumper for cold air feed to pod filter. not bad for a home job, still needs paiting yet car shots without front grille etc installed... hopefully this is the view most people see cheers Brad
  16. this is the link to the thread, has some good interesting points.. worth a read aus rotor forums turbo bag discussion
  17. series 1 for looks, i like the front lights better than series 2 and also the grille on series 2 looks funny with the spotties in it. series 2 taillights r wayyy better though. series 2 driveline is heaps better but that doesnt matter if u r changing it all like me at the end of the day its still a stagea which ever one u choose so either is a good option in my opinion each to their own Brad
  18. wheres my damn cd im waiting
  19. cheers mate for the support, ive been reading on the net in general about the turbo bags and especially on the aus rx7 forums they have about 5 of them saying they have had manifolds cracking within 6 months and other probs, etc and thats shop owners saying that not just normal users. they all highly reccomend to keep the heat off everything else by using metal shields on the bits u want cool, not on the turbo itself. interesting reading on some other forums... cheers Brad
  20. slightly off topic, but does anyone know what size heat bag will fit the hks t04z? im thinkin an XTR bag from gcg but they only have ones for gt30, gt35, gt40, 42, etc etc etc all except mine, so which one will be the correct size? i got a 0.81 housing if that matters cheers Brad
  21. do u guys ever leave 1 thread without mentioning the f**kin rb30s for god sack
  22. to use the turbo on the engine no matter which one, u will need an aftermarket ecu to run it (power fc, etc), plus bigger injectors if u plan on decent power, around 700cc (stock are 330cc or something like that). best turbo is a garrett or hks, etc if u can afford it. something like a gt30 or gt35 would be suited without excessive lag. u will need new water and oil lines for the turbo, plus the stock cooler wont cut it on anything over 10psi or so, fuel pump may need a change as well. remember the turbo upgrade isnt just putting a bigger turbo on and away u go. more costs than most people realise, but well worth it if u use quality gear, cheers Brad
  23. hey guys i got a sard FPR and ive installed it onto my duel entry fuel rail, with the middle rail outlet going to the side of the FPR and then the bottom of the FPR runs to the return line to the tank. is this the correct way or the other way around? when i turn the ignition on to prime the pumps up and make pressure, it makes a funny whirring noise for about 2-3 secs, sort of like if u put the fuel lines on the wrong ends and it blocks against the regulator. im 100% sure the inlet and return on the rail are correct so i know its not that and the sound comes from the reg and it moves abit when it makes the noise. can u just undo the line out of the regulator and make sure fuel is coming out or doesnt fuel come out at all from the regulator until its running? any info or even a pic of some others installed would be a great help thanks Brad
  24. hey cyrus i also reckon the series 1 looks better except the rear lights on the series 2 are better, but the front series 2 lights look abit weird and same with the grille with spotties in em. just my opinion though
  25. i think people just like to have a dig at anyone who can afford better parts than them by bagging and saying "oh but these brands/parts are 100 times better for cheaper" when they wish they had the cash to actually attempt such projects. let him shoot himself i reckon opening his mouth with comments like that go and hang in the rb30 fanclub threads exXu1
