  1. Hi, I'd appreciated it if I can have my name changed from Electro to JazzaR33 or Jazzar33 as a 2nd pref. I'm using it with all my other logons & stuff now. Cheers
  2. Show us a pic of the globes. If they're the small wedge type ones you can get them from anywhere like supercheap, autobahn, sprints etc etc
  3. ^^ Yeah I have to agree that doesn't make any sense. If the pump fuse is disconnected you won't get any fuel. You should just turn the ignition or & off a few times for the pump to prime the fuel lines & rail. If you disconnect the fuse you get zip. Yes this is pretty well correct, the moment you see the pressure dropping you know the pump is struggling, & if you're running higher boost or increased regulator pressure, it will have to try even harder. However if the car is leaning out & the pressure doesn't drop, check that your injectors are not going flat out. If they are it's either time to give the reg pressure a slight tweak, or if it's leaning out badly, new injectors.
  4. Well you got me there mate. Yes I do use a Ryco, guilty as charged. Interesting little piece of info there. I think I'd better invest in a genuine filter, always assumed they would be too expensive since everything else that the dealers sell is . Oil change will be due in a couple weeks. Will get 1 for sure now & try it out.
  5. Freebaggin - Yeah I was kinda doubtfull about it, to say the least Busky2k - You're more than welcome to come. Just expect to be treated as an outcast . Naah seriously though, all are welcome, Drew doesn't even have the right brand anymore
  6. Haha yeah a skyline view, it's meant to be ideal for weddings. Sounds rather $$$$ to me. Especially since you need 30 peop for the small skyline room. Will check it out maybe just the same. The earl seems to be getting a strong following at the moment though. Man did I plan this a month from now?? I could have planned it a fornight away if progress keeps happening this fast! I think what I'll do once there's a number of suggestions up that people like, is post up all the options with internet links if possible (& menu listings if really required) & then people can PM me with their votes. The location with the most votes wins. Keep it up guys this is gonna be great
  7. Yeah sorry mate, you miss out this time, but if I make it another date someone else will instead. If this turns out to be popular enough I may even make this something like a quaterly get together Great to see so many of you guys jumping on board, should be a great day if we get it all organised in time. Now that we've started to get a fair few people going, it'd also be good for you guys to make a few suggestions for the location. Thinking about it a bit more a BBQ may be a bit of a pain if we go cruising after, unless we happen to find somewhere with some seriously fat BBQ's now ready to use, however I won't rule it out just yet. A deacent sized Hotel/Pub that can house us all - depending on final numbers (this post has only been going 2 days now!) - could be an alternate option, especially as we have no idea what the weather could dish up late August. I will try to come up with some options myself, but all input would be appreciated. For those who have said they will come, can you at some stage PM me at some stage to confirm your attendance. Also if you intend on bringing others please indicate in your post how many people you would like to bring & then give me final details when you PM me. I know that some people will not be able to confirm until fairly close to the date but for those who can, please do so asap & they're will be a lot less headaches. Thanks for the support so far guys & girls.
  8. Haha pub crawl hey? Yeah I had thought of something like that. May even make another thread for something like that a few weeks later . Good that ur coming mate
  9. Yes yes I did assume that I dug myself that hole when I started the thread . Good to see it's already generated a bit of interest. As for people not coming because of another cruise (sorry wasn't aware of that 1) well as I said if there is an overwhelming amount of people who can't come on that day that would like to attend then I will change the date. However someone will always miss out, which is why I'm not going to fumble around asking people for a date instead. Apologies to whoever misses out. My first post will be edited with updates as things change.
  10. Sounds like a good idea, but you loose the door unlock function to go with it I take it? I do actually find this very handy as my alarm auto locks the doors when driving & I let passengers in & out with it a lot. If you had a relay linked to the ignition power it would still allow this function to be used while securing your car when it is locked/alarmed too.
  11. This is very dependant on how much power you are trying to gain. For a small power increase, bumping up the fuel pressure a bit is fine. However if you increase it too much you may start having trouble getting the car to even idle properly as the increase in fuel pressure actually makes it harder for the injector valves to open, meaning that there is a delay beween when they are turned on & when the valve opens to flow fuel properly. I did this experiment myself once on a set of VS commodore injectors & found that a small pressure increase would give a higher flow, but increasing it by much more than half a bar gained nothing. The other affect it did have however when the pressure was increased further was that they would then flow dangerously low when pulsed on & off (as they would normally in the car unless you are maxing your injectors out), meaning they'd make the car run lean. So as I said before if you want a small power gain it's fine to increase the pressure a bit, but don't get greedy. Ultimately if you are looking for a big power gain, getting a set of high flow injectors is the go
  12. Damn that'd be 1 heavy donk to hang over the front of a 32. It probably fell over forwards the first time he braked hard . Seriously though hope he's ok just the same.
  13. Hello guys & girls, I've been on here for several months now myself & would like to possibly take the opportunity for others as well as myself who regularly go on here who may be a bit out of the loop to meet & get to know everyone with some sought of social gathering, as well as getting to check out each others machines etc. All will be welcome. Whether it be something like a BBQ or over a few drinks I will leave open for comments (weather could be dodgy so indoors or shelted could be handy as a backup option at least). If it was made early enough it could also have a short afternoon cruise thrown in after, but that's entirely optional. The idea first & foremost is for this to be a social event rather than a cruise. I will lay a date down of Sunday the 27th of August for it to happen, but if too many people cannot make it on that day or things are not sufficiently organised by that time I will change it. 4 weeks should be pleanty of time though All comments & expressions of interest will be appreciated, Cheers Date: 27th of August Time: 12:30 Place: Finalised & booked. 14. I'll be in too, sounds good.
  15. Hmm I'll debate changing the filter ever 10,000. Personally I change it every 5000 kays as if I let it go to 10,000 I start to get noise from my lifters on startup due to them not getting oil fast enough. If that's not a indication of restriction nothing is. I'm using the 4100 turbolight in my engine. I only leave it in for 5,000 kays myself. It is probably good for a fair bit more, but I like to make sure.
  16. Yeah I don't like the fact that he singled you out in the first place, but you are lucky to get away with the EBC none the less. The main reason you probably got away with it is because they stuffed up in the first place. Had they pulled you over for something else maybe you wouldn't be so lucky. Just remember if you don't complain about a cop who let you go then the next import that he pulls over he may be just as willing to ignore what he saw. If you do complain though he may not be so lenient next time.....
  17. Hello Yasmine, I'm very sorry to hear the ordeal that has been your life for a while now & I am saddend that Tony's parents are trying to pin this incident on you. I hope every thing works out for you with your study & recovery etc. I am unsure if you have read right through these pages, but it was noted a little while back the real reason for the accident & it came down to to that road being designed with that middle lane being allowed to be used for cars travelling both directions. It was also noted that there was a knee jerk reaction to this crash by the road authorities which then altered the design so that the middle lane was only allowed to be used in one direction. Both parties have every reason to believe they were totally in the right to be using that lane, which unfortunately was a recipie for disaster. If Tony's parents (or yourself for that matter) want someone to blame they should be looking squarely at the road authorites for allowing such a stupid road design to be produced in the first place as this is what caused the accident.
  18. Somewhere like Petroject would have been my first choice. These guys specialise in repairs to engine management systems & are more likely to be able to help you to diagnose the problems with consultation & having electrical information of many vehicles also enables them to figure exactly what circuitry has been damaged etc. They also have a special test bench which enables them to actually run the ECU & check what's working & what's not etc. They deal with a lot of the trade & the guys there have a lot of experience between them. Most of the time the only reason things can't be fixed is if they don't have spare parts for a special component (eg a main microchip), or the board is too fried, or if it's simply uneconomical to fix. For the kind of repair you needed done you could get away with going to Force, but if it had become any more complex than that I doubt they could have done it.
  19. Hmm this is starting to sound like my problem too. I clean all my stuff up, replaced my caniseter with an original 1, which helped, but then the prick of a thing started to stall easier. Have redone my Idle since & it's a bit better but not great, have to make sure I use throttle on a hill, can't ride the clutch without it.
  20. Lucky boy, good to see they got it soughted out. Force isn't my first pick for repaires on these, but at least they found the problem.
  21. Yeah it's never been any different really ever since the phrase 'sports car' was invented. Keep it subtle & they won't really take notice, make it loud to look at & listen to as well as easy to identify & you're looking for trouble as far as (some of) the cops are concerned. It's all crap of course & it all comes down to the fact that the way the whole system operates is antiquated & out of touch with reality. No credit is given to how good the driver is, it's just assumed that every car that's done up must have some brainless nut case behind the wheel, and it's downright rude & insulting. Of course if these idiots weren't handed a license so easy in the first place (I learn most my road craft off of my dad & other study of driving, not my instructor, ta very much) then this wouldn't be such an issue. Then the cops could be left to catch all the real criminals doing drugs, stealing from & murdering people. My 20 cents worth
  22. It's interesting how often some of you guys are getting pulled over. So far to date since aquiring my Skyline over 18 months ago I was pulled over only once. This situation occurred on a clear saturday nite on a near coastal road, regularly used for cruising. The copper was going under 60, I must have gone past him at about 63-64 (accounting for any speedo error) max & he pulled me over for doing between 60 & 69 in a 60 zone. He ended up giving me a warning & informing me that it is illegal to do more than the speed limit. Now contrast that with an early saturday morning when I was on my way to work, I'd come up next to another car that was going only a tad slower than me when I notice that a cop car was bearing down on me fairly quickly (no lights flashing). I was a bit hesitant at first as to whether or not he wanted me to get out the way or if he was looking to pull me over. Interpreting (hoping) that he wanted me to get out the way, I buried the right food & sped past the adjacent car & moved accross for him. To my relief he simply waved in thanks & was on his way. In short I drive my car every day to work & back, usually in a pretty swift manner, but without being a lunatic & I've never had any of this crap apart from the odd dickhead motorist, who probably pulls the same stunts on half a dozen drivers every week. What keeps me in the clear more than anything I think is that I don't have custom plates that are easy to remember, & my car is fairly understated in it's appearance apart from it being bright red. Even my wheels get attention of some people, but not with a racey lunatic sought of mentality. My exhaust gets no attention as it doesn't have fat piping out the back either & it is fairly quiet for an aftermarket system. Don't get me wrong guys I think you should be allowed to make your car appear how you want it to, I just find I get stuff all attention doing things the way I have. Just happens to be my style
  23. Hmm it doesn't sound too good. But it is possible that it's fixable. That diode that you found is the main power protection diode that all cars have to have in their ECU. if you reverse power the computer that should take the full brunt of it to prevent damaging everything else. It is possible that it is damaged without it being burnt, & could be stopping the whole thing from running. Is there anything actually working on it at all? It could be this diode if that's the case. Also that does look like a blown track on the TPS power feed are you sure it's the power feed though. Is there exposed copper at either end of the break? If so yeah it's been zapped & needs joining back up.
  24. I was going to say something similar to that...... before the stupid kettle threw the saftey switch. But yeah I agree totally. It's worth noting that the standard R33 exhaust is 2.5 inch, maybe not the most free flowing, but I doub't that even with a high flow muffler or cat that you would get any where near the gain you would by going to a 3 inch system. Bigger piping means more air flow & therefore more power capability too. It's also worth noting that there are a lot of strict regulations when it comes to rally cars & many classes have things like inlet restrictors in which case they don't need the exhaust flow as the inlet flow is not that great anyway. It's also a matter of how a car is tuned as to how it will go exactly. A 3 inch system that only gains 3 kw extra over a 2.5 is probably a really crap too.
  25. Hmm I've got a problem like this now though the car doesn't stall it just starts hunting & the vacuum level drops, indicating an air leak. Give it a quick rev & then it's ok again for a bit. First time I had this problem it was the hose to the boost sensor which had started to split on the plenum end. Replaced that with some narrow gauge fuel hose & it was fine for a bit. This time I've got a problem with the charcol canister, when I pinched the air line to the plenum, the revs drop a bit & it Idles smoother. For some reason my canister had been replaced with an aftermarket setup & mounted all the way over the other side of the car. I'm getting an original style canister from a wrecker's tomorrow & will fit it to the system soon. Will keep you posted on what I find
