  1. How old is the battery? (they don't last forever) Check with a multimeter what voltage you have at the battery when the engine is at, say, 2500 rpm.
  2. Pretty certain, somewhere in here: http://www.meggala.com/main.htm

    Give Blood

After "Nurse Debbie's" little chat last night, you now all know why we need to give blood. My next appointment (it will be my 94th!) is scheduled for after 30 August. While I ordinarily donate mid-week at the Bourke St centre, I'm willing to make a change to a Sunday at Southbank. To do this, I need your support. If you are genuinely intertested in becoming a blood donor, please email me with your intention. I need to know by Friday next week (August 25) so I can try and organise a group booking on the 3rd or 10th September.
  4. When you open up the (replacement) diff and remove the centre, it will have a crown wheel attached to it. Undo the bolts and remove the crown wheel. Then do the same with your current diff. Now bolt the crown wheel from your current diff onto the centre from the new diff, and install that centre in your diff housing. Since you still have the same gears, you have the same ratios. (It will all be really obvious when you do this) If it's a problem with the crown wheel and / or pinion, then you are in deep doo-doos. It's probably a trip to the bank to extend your mortgage so you can buy a new set from Nissan!
  5. It's a voltage problem in the HICAS system. Strange as it may seem, check all the plugs on the back of the alternator are connected properly.
  6. I thought that was the centre only - you need to attach your crown wheel and pinion.
  7. Pretty certain the 4.375 is unique to the R32 GTS4 (don't know about R33 GTS4s). GT-Rs run 4.111, and Stageas run 4.083 .
  8. What happens when you "bounce" the rear end of the car? How far can you push the back down when you lean on it? What happens when you release the load? If you get it bouncing, it should stop within 2 bounces - otherwise the shocks are shot.
  9. They only do Recaro, AFAIK. Start at around $1G. May not be cheap, but try getting a new genuine seat from Nissan and see what it costs you! The other beauty of Recaro (and other aftermarket) seats is that when you sell your car, you pull the seat and fit it to your next car. Then they become really inexpensive. If you want your seats re-trimmed, there's a guy out in Ringwood, near the Autobarn store, does a good job. Can't recall his details right now. Advan_01 - let your fingers do the walking.

  11. I have a front only - $200 + freight.
  12. Ask Debbie (Blood Bank person) on Tuesday.
  13. When I was installing an auto RB25DET from a Stagea into my manual 32, we had to weld a wheel stud to the bush and use a drift hammer to pull it out.
  14. Check the switch - they are a known problem in Skylines. You can test the bulbs (you still haven't given any detail of the actual bulb) by running them directly off the battery for a few seconds.
  15. Installed a Jaycar screecher alarm - 110dB @ 2kHz INSIDE the car - after some dear little spaced-out doped-up junkie sat in the car and stole the radio (normal alarm was probably screaming its lungs out). Just reminds them they were not invited, and are not really welcome. And ALWAYS take the radio face-plate with you.
  16. And Debbie from the Red Cross Blood Bank.
  17. When the cooling system cools down, the water will be forced back in. More than likely.
  18. If you want to upgrade the front brakes, fit some slotted rotors and braided brake lines. I don't think the calipers are all that different; they take the same pads as the RB20DETs.
  19. I tend to agree with the "various mechanics" - it's a problem of the wrong carrier. You will need to pull the gearbox out anyway, then take measurements to work out which "height" carrier you need.

  21. Did you re-tune to idle fuel maps? Bigger (I'm guessing S15 are higher flowing) injectors are going to deliver more fuel for the same duty cycle.
  22. OK, thanks for the clarification.condemn is a slightly better word
  23. I honestly hope the club does not condone this sort of behaviour! (CONDONE is to pardon or overlook)Do we have a constitution? And does it cover such eventualities? Surely a condition (at least implicit) of joining any club is that you agree to uphold the rules of the club, and not act in such a manner as to cast a bad light on the club as a whole and the members in general. I suggest that the person in question be given a written warning from the President (on behalf of the committe and members) suggesting that further infractions may result in expulsion from the club.

  25. It's a 4.375 ratio. Only have a front one, after Stagea ratio swap - Sorry. Try Jack McNamara in Levanswell Rd Moorabbin 9555 2213
