  1. I found Simons power curve was alittle odd, I've seen few other members running it on RB20dets it seems to make more mid range but not as much top end. But none of them actually run that much boost either. Also the comparison dynosheet shown against GT3076s, Those 2x cars got lot more modifications then what my test car has. I believe I have no issues beating them in response, power and torque if I decide to modify mine in the same manner. Except I don't expect any one who uses my turbos to have all those mods.
  2. Its not the most responsive turbo. Well compare to a GT3076 .82 with same boost. I think its not too bad. Unless if you run E85 and cam gears. There is nothing installed on it that can advance the turbo's response or power output.
  3. I make this public, I think this is probably the highest HP out of a high flowed R33 turbo ever archived with 98 fuel internally gated. This is our PU high flow option. Once thanks to Trent at Status for excellent tuning work. Fully stock RB25det engine with forged pistons only. 800cc injectors, Nistune ECU, FMIC, Exhaust and 3inch intake pipe. Car peeked 305rwkws @ 21psi, full boost by 4200RPMs. The average run was 300rwkws. Yellow line is straight off high pressure actuator, no boost controller. Green line is with boost controller.
  4. Very good result Simon. Excellent power for RB20dets. For comparison this is the same turbo in .82 rear on my RB25det internally gated on 98 fuel at 18psi. Very impressive for RB20det.
  5. What happens is oil will fill up the bearing housing and hydraulically force oil through out both sides of he turbo. Generally if you see smoke with pondle of oil on the cold side would be an indication of that issue. This happens generally if incorrect sized gasket is fitted or people siliconed too much glue, bad designed catch can, kinked drain hose, wrong type of drain hose, or over filled engine oil. It is a very annoying problem for turbo builders. To avoid this problem, use specified drain hose and make sure its on a 45 degrees slop to drain port, test catch can for breathing capacity before installation, use specified drain gaskets, and never use silicon on turbo.
  6. Any thing fits a .70 comp and 1.0 turbine with a 12mm spacer will do the job. But fitting up an internal wastegate and setup its bracket to operate without hitting any thing is very difficult.
  7. Do not want to hijack this thread, Just want to make things clear. This turbo was sent back for inspection because your mate is worried about the shaft play from dry bearings, all we did was added in few drops of oil. Your mate reported oil leak issue on cold side after installation which indicate a flooding issue normally due to drain or feed. I did ask for it to be returned for check up, how ever it never came back. It was taken to some where else, which they cropped its wheel trying to high flow it, modified the wastegate with different actuator. I did rang that place to find out what went wrong, and I did not get a direct response. That turbo is not our original build. It will obviously mega lag with cropped wheel and creep from different wastgate setup. That is not our work.
  8. That depends on the type of rear housing that we get to do the high flow as well as the combination of wheel we use refer to customer's driving ability. I've personally tested a .63 PU high flow maxed at 295rwkws, Roller dyno, 98 fuel, tuned by Dr.drift. How ever the ATR43G3 mentioned is a brand new turbo that is made and proven for 300rwkws application, with 65kws more mid range then the KKR560. Plus controlled run is based on fully standard setup without boost controller or any thing that could advance its original response and power behavior.
  9. Video of above run is up for people whom's interested to watch:
  10. I can make you a .63 or larger housing to suit GT35 turbine wheel if you want. Can be either external or internal gated, with 6 bolt Nissan Dump, 3 inch V band or 5 bolt flange. Or get a Vl turbo or OP6 turbine housing we can machine it to fit.
  11. Great to see you back Trent. You've done a great job today. .
  12. Just had a big day tuning at status. This is the first run with my new forged engine. Every thing on this engine apart from pistons are stock standard, so any good healthy RB25det will be able to do the same. Just recap of modifications list: 800cc injectors Nistune ECU Z32 AFM 600x300x75mm FMIC 3inch turbo back exhaust 3inch intake pipe with pod. CP pistons ATR43G3 / Pu high flow .82 Stock engine head Stock cams Stock cam gears Stock exhaust manifold Stock inlet manifold Stock fuel rail Stock engine block, Con rod & Crank. This is a controlled run based on BP 98 Fuel, No boost controller, No wastegate controller. Car made peek of 303rwkws at 20psi with drop to 17psi (can be fixed with Gate controller). The constant was between 295 to 300rwkws.
  13. Little update: This is a OP6 Standard high flow using the updated turbine wheel running 98 Fuel.
  14. The average on the ATR43G3 .82 is 4200 RPMs / 20psi. You can send it back for a check up.
  15. The G1 profile in .63 turbine would be very good for doing that. should see full boost around 4000RPMs on the RB20det
  16. I currently don't. Been told they are pretty responsive. But still yet to receive dyno sheets from customers.
  17. Get the one with 3inch dump and front in one piece. I don't think any one makes an actual 3 inch dump pipe as the size of factory front pipe is in 2.5inches.
  18. what sort of power are you chasing for? the G1 runs of a 71mm 52T comp and G2 runs off a 76mm 52T comp. For RB20 they are ok to run in .63 turbine housings.
  19. Need to make sure your vacuum source to the BOV is after the throttle body
  20. 4inch metal induction pipe with airbox no filter.
  21. Turbo lag means the period before turbo hit its set boost. So if you have a really big turbo you would experience lag before 5500RPMs. Can you detail this lag that you are experiencing?
  22. GT3582 in .82 Turbine with .70 comp externally gated. If you run about 24psi on 98 you should see close to 380rwkws. But I don't think it can do 24psi by 4000RPMs. more like 4300rpms. Best to run on 120, or E85.
  23. I built the turbo on it. Very responsive result. Shoot in few more psi next time .
  24. I wish RB25det came out with a turbo like that from Factory. Its a OEM Ford XR6 Turbo.
  25. Mine Z32 AFM was maxed at 26psi. car made 344rwkws.
