Also dont rule out a blocked cat, would be a reason why it runs fine at low rpm and no boost but once you start trying to put a lot of gas's through it then it chokes and dies.

R33 Wont Start With Pod Any Reason
W0rp3D replied to chrisgero's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
or just playing with the afm has caused some wires in the plug to break or contacts in the afm to seperate, thats what happened to me. -
I have a ps3, i download a lot of tv shows and movies and love the fact that i can play them straight off my pc, also early to mid next year playtv will be bringing out a digital tv tuner and recorder add on so its not only a games console but a whole multimedia centre.

A wire shorting? check to make sure that one of the connections in the plug has not come loose and is shorting against the body.

What Turbo Is Best For Stock 33 Motor For Max Power
W0rp3D replied to mattsr31's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Assuming he does not take it to drag/drift/track days every weekend and keeps away from the rev limiter and a host of other variables that will kill an engine that is on the limit. -
I want these, but its not a good time of year......

What Turbo Is Best For Stock 33 Motor For Max Power

But how long is an internally standard engine going to last at 300rwkw? You might want to look into that as well, personally (as im doing my self) i would stick with a high flow with about 250rwkw untill you build an engine, then look at going high mount, inlet and all the other bits and pieces and head towards the 350rwkw mark. -
Hi Octane R33 Gts-t Radiator Air Guide
W0rp3D replied to jd06's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
what suburb, if your close i'll take it. -
There was also an arc smic in the for sale section for cheap, apparently they are good for around 250rwkw and are a direct bolt on, very good upgrade if you are just raising the boost on your standard turbo, and if your in vic you can also have a pod as they wont know the difference.

Hot weather is a serious power killer on turbo cars, i notice in mine that the power is not as responsive or sharp as it is in colder days.

nice cut n paste work, point is mute tho, if you had have read the whole thread she has gone the soft route and stuck with a skyline.

Auto or manual? That shifter is for a manual, bitch to set up apparently, if its going to be a full on drag car i would look into getting a sequential dog box from some one like ppg.

What parts do you have, who is the shift kit from and do you have receipts for the shift kit? -
Atleast test drive one, you will fall in love.

If you average joe plod pulls you over and cant pick the usual defects under the bonnet there is a good chance he will give up. "retarded"? You mean the piping that saves you from having cut a big ugly hole in your inner gaurd, the same whole that will get you a defect on a S2 33 and newer due to air bags?

I agree. Next question is how many people in this thread have ever owned a rotary and how many are purely going off what they heard from a guy whos "dogs uncles aunt on there mothers side had a second cousin who maybe had one but it might have been a datsun 180b"? Firstly i use to have a bridgeport 13b in an old rx7, i gave that thing hell, saw 10,000rpm many times and it never missed a beat, i also have 2 mates that have had/have a S2 rx7 with a S5 engine, purely standard engine with big turbo, fmic, ecu and they pumped out over 300rwkw, one of which is still running today trouble free the other blew a water seal so he decided to sell it as parts and buy a S6 instead of repairing it. The S6 how ever was a bit of a nightmare, it was meant to have a newly rebuilt engine, after a few months he discovered it had blown a seal (dont know which one) so had stripped it down only to find that the plates had previously cracked and been welded up (once cracked they should be binned) and the housings had corroded from a lack of coolant, as he planned to keep the car he bought all new parts, i believe the cost was around the 7k mark, ever since then it has been perfect. Another friend of mine built a S2 from ground up with an unknown import s5 13bt engine and got a mate to tune it, that blew pretty quick, he then got it rebuilt by a well known rotary wrecker, he didnt get 1000k's out of that one, rebuilt it again, got the same mate to tune it and never got 300k's out of it, today it still sits in his garage after having spent over 25k on it, moral of this one is to get a reputable workshop to rebuild it (not wrecker) and tune it (not a mate who thinks he knows what he is doing). If you get a good one it will treat you well, you get some ones dog breakfast it will be a money pit, not that its any different for a skyline. Ask for receipts for all work done and servicing, if it has a rebuilt motor get receipts and check to see what was done and how long ago, whilst these things have fewer moving parts and are theoretically simpler they must be put together with a lot closer tolerance than a piston engine and all that comes with experience. Whilst all these experience's sound bad there not, if i had the money i would buy a S6, my gtst has 225rwkw and a host of mods, my mates S6 only has a fmic and raised boost and would blow my doors off, not to mention the smooth power of the twin turbo's. And www.ausrotary.com is your best resource.

Manual To Auto Conversion
W0rp3D replied to W0rp3D's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
You will have to point them out to me, i just went through 8 pages of your posts and apart from some good info on installing a shift kit (which i found last night while researching) i could not find any answers to any of my questions, and i can not find any info on converting from manual to auto. -
Just got a few questions that i can find any answers to. 1) What sort of power will a standard box hold? 2) Can you make one fully manualised and keep the standard shifter, or even better use an R34 tiptronic shifter? 3) When it is a full manual do you still need an auto ecu? 4) what would it roughly cost to make it handle about 350rwkw with about a 3000rpm stall and trans brake? 5) How much extra electronics are needed? 6) Any thing else you can think of that will need to done?

If you want the standard looking piping in the engine bay then return flow is what you want, mine is a return flow and is a tube and fin i think, i also have a hks tube and fin that i ripped the bottom plate off on a speed hump, it did not damage any of the tubes, to get a rock to go through a tube it would have to be a good sized rock.

I dont know how big your enclosures are but i do remember seeing some alloy ones at jaycar (dont know if you have jaycar stores in nsw) maybe they will have to be your final option.

I know what your saying and although it is called the howard stern show there is a lot more going on than just a 52 yr old derro, there is numerous other show staff and guests that come together to make up one very funny show at times, even just discussing news events usually have some sort of humour in it. definitely not for everyone though, but it is for me.
