  1. from what i gather it is like registering a car that has no rego on it at all. you pay all the fees associated with registering it (including for plates), however you may be able to get a partial refund on the vic rego (don't know about it though).
  2. this.
  3. yes it will work. i've done it. just plug it in and drive away.
  4. i never said all NA people were ricers, but there are plenty of them. their posts generally run to the tune of.. "OMG i just a got a fully sick GTR bodykit and 3" exhaust for my NA skyline, and it's totally sick! on the way home i totally laughed at a ricer in a lancer with all the same mods as me but it's a totally different situation because he drivers a base model, non turbo lancer all kitted out and i drive base model, non turbo skyline that is all kitted out......."
  5. so i'm guessing there is freeway driving in that. doesn't really count as "in town". 80kmh and above becomes highway driving. i filled up my commodore tonight. i did 625kms before the fuel light came on. put in 57L (75L tank).
  6. that all depends. how many litres are you calling a full tank? what sort of driving are you doing? do you let the car warm up before driving? how long does the temp gauge come up to the middle of the gauge (normal operating temp)?
  7. what sort of "in town" driving is it? if it is on motorways,, expressways, etc then you will get dramatically better economy than someone in stop/start traffic.
  8. global warming is a load of crap. even people like Al Gore have admitted this. that is why they now say "climate change". climate change is real. what is debatable is whether humans have anything to do with it. we probably aren't helping the situation, but i don't think we are the cause of it (because NASA has found that the temps on mars are increasing) and that it is just the natural course of the planet. we have very little data on the historical climate of this planet. the data we do have is from but a blink on the radar as far as the age of this planet goes. there is scientific data that shows the planet has been much colder and much warmer than current temps. also, scientists use the phrase "effects of climate change" in the titles of their research subjects when applying for grants because it dramatically increases the chance of being given the money.
  9. do you want a closed door respray (one where when you open the door the inside of the doors is a different colour to the outside of the car) or a proper job where inside the doors, boot, bonnet, etc are all done too? this will determine the price. also depends on whether you want it painted with 2-pack or basic acrylic. this will determine how much of a shine the paint has as well as how resistant it is to chipping, etc.
  10. no didn't have a shit day, just get annoyed by ricers, especially in the NA section (but the NA section is always good for a laugh so i keep coming back)
  11. you would need to get one that is specific to to your model car. as for whether your car has a consult port. try searching it in google. get quicker results than on here.
  12. +1. i have a VT. on the highway it's ok, (less than 9L/100kms), but round town it's shocking. little 4 banger will use about 30% less fuel (depending on how you drive and the engine size)
  13. the price drop of the galaxy makes it the best pic of the bunch. it's also rumoured to be getting honeycomb (android 3.0). wouldn't bother with the optus or telstra tabs (and probably any other cheap ones) because of the screens. to be honest though, i'd look at a netbook. i picked up an acer netbook from officeworks for $359. it's a dual core 1.5ghz with 1gb of ram (can upgrade to 2gb). it has good battery life (can surf the net for 6 or 7 hours). you get the advantage of having a keyboard, faster processor, will do pretty much anything a normal laptop will do, and being windows 7, my ps3 auto detects it as a media server so i can stream movies and music to my ps3 without having to go through any settings, as well as link to my windows 7 laptop to share data very easily. plus you can plug in USB devices. only thing is that you would need a USB dongle for mobile internet (or a phone with tethering abilities, such as an android phone running 2.2 or an iphone). it also runs android dual boot, but you can't add apps to it, but it is good for quickly loading up to search the net or send an email (boots up in 10 or 15 seconds). this is the one i got (missus picked the colour) http://www.officeworks.com.au/retail/products/Technology/Computers-and-Notebooks/Computer-Notebooks-and-Laptops/ACN55DQPK
  14. did the panel beater give the car a polish? if not, it might be worth getting the car professionally polished and see if that makes the door closer to the colour of the freshly painted panel, as old paint usually has a different colour to freshly cut and polished paint.
  15. i see your turbo decided to highflow itself, lol
  16. you do realise that the rs200 finished production around the same time that they started the AWD XF designing. it was more likely scrapped because of new emissions laws, and the fact that the XF model was scrapped for the EA.
  17. stock turbo injectors are 370cc and i'm pretty sure both S1 and S2 are exactly the same
  18. it's only really valid if the before dyno run was done imediately before the mod was done, without the car being driven off the dyno and if both before and after dyno runs are done within a few minutes of each other so the weather doesn't change much.
  19. who gives a shit who the target demographic is with mufflers (other than ricers wanting their fully kebab spec canons or drifters with their leet shotguns)? if the muffler does the job well then use it.
  20. the awd falcon was in developement back in the 80's (was going to be a 268kw AWD twin turbo XF).
  21. what about a r34 gtr box with the transfer box removed (if it's possible) or just with the front drive shaft removed
  22. i have my old work computer hooked up to my 42" plasma (via VGA input on the tv). if i had a wireless keyboard and mouse i'd use it more often to surf the net, etc.
