  1. if the stud is a 10mm allen key then you'd really want a size between 10 and 11mm, unfortunately though, i don't think there is one. if you end up not being able to find an 11mm allen key sold seperately let me know as i can get them through one of my suppliers at work. they aren't that cheap though. even doing it at cost price you'd be looking at about $30 by the time i sent it to you, so it would be cheaper to go to your local bike shop and see if they could get you one as they retail at about $25. if i dealt with the company more often i could just get one added in with an order and that would drop the price, but since i rarely get stuff off them, i'd be paying about $8 freight just to get it to me, then postage to send it to you. if you go to your local bike shop, ask them if they deal with pacific brands. if they say yes, then they could get it for you. the brand is Park Tools, and the part number is RHR11.
  2. actually the worse that could happen would be that the car wouldn't be using the appropriate mapping and run lean and damage the engine.
  3. could be the crank angle sensor. it isn't registering that the car is turning over so it isn't injecting fuel or igniting it. could also be the fuel pump though. to rule out the CAS, next time it fails to start, pull one of the spark plugs out. if it is wet then there is fuel going in, but for some reason it isn't sparking. that means fuel pump is ok and CAS is ok. if it is dry then more than likely the CAS is faulty, but could also be the fuel pump. to then test the CAS you need to remove it from the engine (keeping it plugged in though) and spin it by hand (with the key on). if you hear the injectors click as it spins then the CAS is fine and it's more than likely the fuel pump, or an ignition issue.
  4. don't suppose there is any chance of a screenshot to give us a sneak peak of what the new skin looks like?
  5. the old one was ugly, and this one is too. status quo
  6. for newer cars i'd be more inclined to say that mid year is the best time to buy as you will get people selling cars to get a new one as a tax write off. round xmas time people are more concerned about buying presents, etc, so a lot of people won't bother too much about selling their car, however at the same time you might get a few people who are desperate to sell to pay for xmas presents, LOL.
  7. not a case of winding back, they simply just put in the instrument cluster out of a car that has done less kms. very few people bother with physically winding back the clock these days. so much easier just to get a second hand one from the wreckers.
  8. ok well if it's turning over as fast as normal then ignore all the posts above about being a dead battery (i dare say the missed the bit in your first post where you said the car is turning over and just not firing). sounds like the CAS simply isn't registering that the engine is turning over, so not firing the ignition or the injectors. i think from memory you can test this theory by turning the key to the on position and removing the CAS from the motor (leaving it plugged in)and then spinning it by hand. you should hear the injectors click as they fire. not sure if you have to disconnect the ignition loom before doing this to stop the spark plugs firing. i can't remember.
  9. not saying that this guy is, but some people are total drama queens when when it comes to car damage. i've had people tell me about how they crashed their car and it was a total wreck, etc, then gone round to have a look at it and it was nothing more than a few minor dents. i had mum ring me one day to say that she had pulled the rear bumper off her car cause she had reversed a touch to far and it got caught on a stake in the garden. went round to have a look (expecting it to be totally off the car and have torn all the brackets, etc) and it had just unclipped part of the lower skirt in 1 spot that i was able to clip back into place in about 2 seconds.
  10. yeah only skin us mere mortals can view at the moment is the standard one. to change them in the future though, scroll to the very bottom of the page. in the left hand corner there is a "back to the top" link. above that is a drop down window that currently says "IP. Board". that is the skin option box. in the future it will have the multiple skins you can choose from. i liked the dark skin because it looked better. as far as i was are the functionality was the same as the light skin, just looked cooler. also attachments are opening in the same window for me, so i have to right click and open them in a new window. no major concern though. i can live with that. also, with the rep buttons, you don't get to give a reason for the rep do you (haven't clicked it to see)? cause if you can give a reason, i want to give negative rep to craig for being a fat jerk, LOL
  11. depends on how the engine has been damaged. if it is only things like the radiator, fan, etc, then it is only minor damage. i know a guy that fell asleep on the highway in his 33 and ran up the back of the car in front. hell of a lot of damage. pushed the whole front end of the car in. busted both headlights, stuffed the radiator, fan, all that sort of stuff. thought it was going to be a write off, but it wasn't.
  12. wow, 164rwkw from a natro. must've had a bit of work done to it. as for what to go, well don't pay too much attention to the kms on the clock as there is a very good chance that they are not genuine and the actual car has done much more. secondly, there is no M spec r33. you are actually refering to the type M (M spec is a version of the r34 GTR). pretty much every r33 GTS-T is a type M (with the exception of one of the models of the sedan), so don't bother only looking at cars that say type M in the description. if it is a gts-t then you can assume it's a type M. i know i'm beaing picky but too many (in fact most) people get this info wrong. as for things to know about the r34, well a lot of parts will be common to both r33 and r34. for the parts that are different you shouldn't really find it any more difficult to find parts for either car. as for which car to get, it really comes down to what you like the look of the most.
  13. how fast is it turning over? if it is turning over pretty much as fast as normal (or even just a touch slower) then your battery is fine and you have an electrical issue somewhere, such as the CAS.
  14. i don't think they bothered with the drag strip, etc since you can easily make one in the track creator. as for the game seeming small, yeah i thought the same, however a lot of stuff gets unlocked as you go. apparently when you reach level 30 the sebastian vettel redbull challenge gets unlocked. the endurance races don't start to get unlocked until level 25. races include: 300 Kilometers at Grand Valley (Level 25) 4 Hour Roadster (Level 26) 200 Miles at Laguna Seca (Level 27) 500 Miles at Indianapolis (Level 28) 1000 Kilometers at Suzuka (Level 30) 4 Hours at Nurburgring (Level 32) 9 Hours at Tsukuba (Level 33) 24 Hours at Le Mans (Level 35) 24 Hours at Nurburgring (Level 40) EDIT: damn, beaten to it
  15. correct. i do not drive a magna. i have owned them in the past, but currently i do not own or drive one.
  16. i think most of the problems she was having with it was with the centre diff. apparently a lot of highway driving causes the diff to have issues. and at the price they are to replace, the mechanics were telling her to get rid of the car rather than fix it.
  17. mine goes to the first unread post (if there is one), or to the last post. the forum has been reset and it doesn't remember what posts you have read or haven't read. when it came back online today i went through and marked all forums as read once i had looked at new posts and now it operates just fine. also, got the mobile site working on my phone again. reset cookies, form data, etc.
  18. damn, i was hoping you'd get deleted in the move, LOL and +1 for an android app, but i think it is invisions job to do that (they did the iphone one)
  19. the problem with forums is that you are only allowed to say where you have had good experiences and not bad, so you end up with somewhat poor advice in some cases.
  20. i'd take a commodore or falcon for highway driving over a skyline any day of the week. the only reason you'd see falcons on the side of the road comes down to the lack of maintenance by a lot of owners, not the actual cars. if skylines were treated like a lot of commodores and falcons are there'd be a hell of a lot more of them on the side of the road broken down than commodores and falcons.
  21. oh boy, another thread to make engine out jokes, LOL. skylines are much easier to work on since they haven't crammed an engine in which you pretty much have to take out just to check the oil level. skylines are also faster and handle better. for a daily driver it should be fine provided you keep the mods relatively minor. if you start putting big turbos on, etc then it loses some of it's reliability as well as economy for the daily run.
  22. yeah sounds like a leak somewhere in the intake or cooler piping, or possibly a dodgy AFM.
  23. i know of a few people who have had cars with the clock on their second time around the clock. i had a commodore that was an ex company car. was 12 months old (almost to the day) when i got it and had 80,000kms on it. my sister in law used to drive from gympie to noosa and back everyday for work (about a 130km round trip). she used to have a liberty but as the kms started racking up she started having problems with it so got a vx commodore. it has been pretty much hassle free other than a problem with the fuel pump. if i had to choose between an import with 400,000kms on it or a commodore/falcon with the same, i'd probably take the aussie car.
  24. Shan i'm using the browser on my android based phone. i was on the mobile site but then t the bottom of the page it had the option to return to the full site so i did that and now i can't find an option to let me switch back. it may be because there re no other skins available to choose from at the moment as i think that would be how i would do it (having the mobile site as a skin option). As for what skin gets my vote, as long as there is a dark coloured skin i will be happy, lol. the layout and function of this setup doesn't bother me much as i'm on other forums that already use it and i find it easy enough to navigate.
