  1. thinking about it, that sort of stuff would be better off being made part of getting your licence. you shouldn't be able to drive a car if you can't do basic maintenance stuff.
  2. Not really a problem, but a question. How do you do things like bold or italics text on the new forum? Can't see any buttons for it
  3. I just installed the app. Not bad. Haven't had a proper play with it though.
  4. oh not the price comparison crap again. sure, australia could have cheap prices like america if we all took a 50% pay cut to earn the same as what they do.........
  5. did you have to remove the injectors when you swapped plenums? if so, i'd say you have a damaged o-ring on an injector. definitely not something you want to keep driving with, because if it gets worse then you might be up for a new engine (i know a guy who had an o-ring let go on his built s13 and it resulted in a hole in the side of his engine.....) for the sake of a few dollars for new o-rings i'd be pulling the injectors out and replacing them. possibly even have the injectors professionally cleaned while they are out
  6. maybe try getting a cheap shitty gauge to try. one that isn't an eletric gauge or anything. just simply mechanical gauge. see what that shows the boost as being.
  7. just thought i'd bump my post from october. i should point out that at the time of that post i didn't know about SBR going to merc. other than that, my prediction was pretty much right. after qualifying the nissans were in 13th and 14th, but that was the kelly brothers cars (technically their cars, but not the ones they were driving). they were down in 17th (todd) and 19th (rick). sadly, the mercs were even further back, but they had a few issues. but as i predicted, redbull/888 were both in the top 5, with 2 of their customers cars in the top 6 (including being on pole), FPR both in the top 10 (2nd and 7th). HRT also had a car in the top 10, and GRM had 2 cars in the top 10 as well. interestingly, there is only 6 fords in the field of 28, 4 nissans, 3 mercs and the remaining 15 cars are holdens.
  8. i was going to post up saying rational things as to why things cost so much (such as cost of developement, not just production, play a part in why things costs the way they do). then i read other posts, so all i have to say is...... if the floor falls out from your rolex then it isn't genuine
  9. maybe things like this should be put into an extra ciriculum activities that are optional (out of normal school hours) and can be used to give kids a boost in their grades. i don't think this should be just lumped on the teachers though. they already have enough shit to deal with these days. my brother and sister in law are both teachers and it isn't as bludgey as most people think.
  10. Why does the hose do a loop out of the cooler hose? And does it boost up that high with no boost controller on there at all? There seems to be an aweful lot of hoses in that pic. Try running a new hose from the intake plenum (such as.from the bov feed) straight to the wastefate and pull all those other hoses off and block them and see what happens
  11. try an import wreckers, ebay, the for sale section on this forum and even your local nissan dealership for parts for the dash. as for what model it is, the import plate and build plate should tell you what model it is, as well as the vin number. if the stock dash boost gauge isn't showing boost, then it may just be that the line to the sensor is split (common problem). easy way to tell this is by whether it shows vaccum at idle as well. if it doesn't then the line is split

    Nisstune Ecu

To use a nistune you need a z32 ecu
  13. The timing will fluctuate unless it is locked in base idle mode. And turning the cas doesn't alter what the ecu thinks the timing is, so it may have been showing 10 degrees on the consult but the actual timing could be 5 degrees or 15 degrees. That's why you need the timing light
  14. i'm a console game from waaaaay back (had a NES as a kid) don't give a shit as to whether you can buy a pc that is better than a console. there's a good chance it will cost you more too. and at least with a console you know that every game is going to work just fine and not have possible hardware compatiability issues, or you need to upgrade it every 3 weeks to be able to play the latest game that has come out. those of us that aren't computer nerds can just buy the console, buy the games, put them in and play away whenever we want. and we can take games to our mates place and not have to worry about whether their system will handle it or not. consoles are perfect for those of us that where computers aren't our favoured past time.
  15. if in doubt, you should be able to take your car to any competent suspension workshop and they should be able to source most of the things you need. they are by no means rare cars in australia these days.
  16. i've never seen the GTT one that looks like th GTR badge before. gotta say, i prefer the stock badge
  17. does it have anything to do with the fuel filler cap? get someone to pull the fuel filler lever and see if it moves
  18. There was a black aventador in Noosa last weekend. spotted a green r32 in gympie at about 6pm today
  19. How far do you have to take it? If its less than a 5 minute drive then it should be fine. Even 10 mins is probably just ok, but would depend on traffic and terrain. If the weather is cool and the speed limits are high then you could go further (higher speed = more airflow through the radiator).
  20. Or go bedford style, sliding doors
  21. You will need to install a second accelerator pedal that you have to use with your left foot
  22. this thread should get moved to the NA section.......
  23. ok, so the idle screw is on the IAC valve (AAC is connected to the IAC). if you look at the engine from the drivers side you should be able to see the screw. the plug you want to undo is the grey one (top one). may also be worth cleaning the throttle body. it may be a little bit gummed up and sticking open just a fraction.
  24. if it's at 10v then the battery is completely dead. it has dropped a cell. charging won't do a thing. a healthy battery should handle only being driven on weekend, or every second or 3rd weeknd just fine. i had an old vh commodore that i didn't start for 3 months. the battery was still fine when i hopped in to move it to mow the lawn. and yeah, if your lights dim, etc, then your alternator is shagged, or the wiring is.
  25. my boss bought some EPO BOOST. it comes from the states. it turned up today, and we all had a good laugh because the postage side of things in the states was done through US POSTAL SERVICE (the principal sponsor of lance armstrong's team for the first 6 of his 7 tour de france "wins")
