  3. nah after with the blown piston there was oil being blown through the whole intake system, the only breather point was the BOV and hence it came pouring out. like that night @ KFC and the bonnet was dripping oil ahhh good times oil through BOV is not good, if it isnt a blown engine then its blow-by and running std boost this would imply that the engine is worn. get it comp tested

  6. respect to the 12 seconds commodores!! i know we always say skylines are fast cars etc but who here has a gts-t and has run a 12? commodores are RWD too, so dont complain about traction. and dont complain about 'NOS is cheating' cos the fact is hes got the time slip! im not converting or anything, dont worry:D its just surprising that a 'fast car' such as the gtst skyline is failing to lay down any times worth quoting.
  7. pinging = marbles in a sock well thats how id describe it is it misfiring? if so then it could be plugs as the std boost setup on the R33 increases to 7-8psi over 5000rpm doesnt it? therefore if your plugs are shit theyre failing to produce a spark to ignite however this is obviously misifring its always hard to diagnose these things on the net as no-one can actually hear it. definately take it back to the dealer, even if its nothing youre getting your money's worth!!

  10. nah its holding 800rpm. definately a plug thing... ill see what happens in the next couple of weeks, im in no hurry to start pulling the cover off again!

  12. to give NA more grunt increase air flow in and out of engine. failing that, force air in theres nothin u can really do on a budget except for filter, exhaust and management. opening up a 6 cyl really isnt worth it, besides leave that thing to v8s, we specialise in bolt-ons:p :uh-huh:
  13. but theres only poor combustion @ idle so should be sweet:P i dont fancy changing plugs THAT often, took me long enoug thanks to nissan's coil packs the plug is 1 heat range colder, so thats gunah add to it as well. i guess im sacrificing the bottom end for top end, as it seems to go with turbo cars when they make big power.

  17. as i argued in the other thread, these times are a LITTLE fast i have 4 mates with zeds (1 has 2, dont ask:P) 1. completely stock - 14.2 2. filter exhaust - 14.34 3. filter exhaust boost(12psi) - 13.8 4. filter exaust boost SAFC - never ran down track but got beaten by shannon who runs 13.6 - approx high 13s 5. twin td06s, full race engine (475rwkw) - 12.6 spinning the whole way from this i conclude that low 13s and high 12s are impossible with only filter exhaust and boost on a 300zx

  19. wow. did u remove the front support bar to fit it in? still running the std front bar, what hacking up of it have u done to allow for max air flow. can u post a pic of the cooler on the car?

  21. GOT BOOST, how big a cooler are u running? whats the optimum size u know? my car cam from japan with a cheese grater/intercooler on it, seems to be doing the job for now but i may replace it at some stage (unlikely due to funding tho:P) btw whats a GTS-R?

  23. your not that guy whos mate apparently ran a 12.6 in a zed with filter, exhaust and boost are ya? ive already argued that one to death i swear your drag strips must run downhill
  24. i was gettin a misfire on high boost before, so i put in new plugs gapped to 0.76mm (damn non-metric feeler guages:D ) anyway, now it pulls hard all the way to redline on 1bar boost, but it seems to misfire at idle?! (sounds like ive got cams!) is this because im now running too small a gap? or is this what you sacrifice in order to get a reliable spark under high boost? thanks adam
