  1. sounds like a worn synchro, next oil change put in some redline shockproof gearbox oil. does wonders with worn syncrhos, if that doesnt help then it may be expensive...
  2. i personally dont think you need one. just give it 30secs - 1min after normal driving and 3-4 mins after thrashing
  3. yeh its pretty easy... just let me know when u wonah drop by. wont take long!
  4. yes please but cut the crusts off my sandwich this time.
  5. haha early spooling turbos are for girls if you dont find a new comp housing i guess you could always go to a wrecker and buy a 2nd hand turbo. not sure on price though... just sayin this cos obviously your wheels were too big last time (wastegate couldnt hold boost) and therefore your gunah run into the same problem again if you use your housings again, as theyve been bored out too much
  6. what are you planning macka?
  7. read it... im not sure if it is related though... im goin out to my car and listen for where exactly the squeak is coming from
  8. open my bonnet for 5minutes and look (i have same engine as you:D) it couldnt be easier... id be a bit worried about installing that splitfire guage though. do a search on the forums they arent supposed to be too crash hot. meggala's blown engine due to over boosting was apparently partly due to a faulty splitfire guage
  9. yeh my clutch squeaks for the first 20min of driving, not very loud though. i think its from outside the car as well (hard to explain) cos ive oiled the pedal inside the car, had the dash off and sprayed everything i can think of! ive given up...
  10. heaps better, that stuff is great on worn synchros and quitened up my bearing noise as well
  11. mate, youll forget the lada even existed after driving the purple vspec GTR for a few days (goddam ur a lucky bastard! )
  12. that would be from previous abuse... a fair bit as well as nissan gearboxes are fairly strong. also you can buy a new R33 gearbox for $1000ish, id say you took the expensive option, at least now u know its all ok though
  13. i reckon both 5W50 and 0W40 are a little thin. i use 10W40 AGIP oil for the engine. redline shockproof for the gearbox. std power steering fluid for ps. never changed diff oils... having said that my cars a little thrashed so i go for thicker/designed for 'worn' mechanical part oils
  14. ive got an HKS SSQ absolutely no hassles whatsoever
  15. definately take it easy on a hot day... alternatively you can do other things to reduce intake temps (the main thing causing detonation on your setup) by installing a cold air partition for the pod filter i cant see how anyone would really want to thrash it on a 30degree day, so nice for cruising!
  16. all these guages are so expensive though! sure they look nice, but i cant justify $3-400 for a guage...
  17. "money isnt an issue" man i wish i could say that whatever you do, dont compromise. if you want a v-spec wait for one. youll be kicking yourself when the week after you buy a non-vspec car, a v-spec comes in...
  18. hehe yeh the canning hwy turn-off which goes around preston and then in front of left bank, ending up under the bridge then to captain munchies is the BEST route!!! aaanyway, next time i guess. im gunah modify my map after uni exams to make it readable for all and then volunteer it for the next cruise!! jules: yeh wed just annihilated a V8 on west coast hwy and were caning along when i spotted ur car. thats my house though (off oceanic) and we were cruising home. another time im sure :burnout:
  19. fair comments, however you cant undermine the quality of fibrevision's products... if you do decide to go to fibrevision you wont be dissapointed with the price or build quality.
  20. fibrevision have their own kit for the R33, is cheaper than the jap stuff and more unique!
  21. bearing noises in gearbox mean rebuilds, so better off gettin new box. roughly $800... spigot release roughly $400-$500 because of labour involved.
  22. haha NA noise maker. id take one of them over an ITC anyday good luck dan! hope u get good results and no 'dramas' let us know how u go!
  23. haha yeh just buy macka a GTR badge, he'll do it:P
  24. haha i think thats a little before my time too! back when i had the white skyline... aaaanyway. is roddy still overseas?
  25. for those interested http://www.autospeed.com/A_1008/page1.html autometer; Gauge psi Reference psi Error % 5 5.8 11.6 10 10.9 9.3 15 16.3 8.5 20 21.5 7.5 Average Error: 9.2%
