a 3" holesaw will go through the metal in 10seconds. just drill a hole, then feed your pipe through. you can get hose/pipe from any hose distributor, i got mine from IHF in welshpool for $20. black - flexible. cant say it made much of a performance difference but if you want to do it, takes about 15minutes all up
haha we all know who the king of mid-range power is!
go for a 12 brett. im not sure what time you 'should' get with specs etc. but a 12second pass definately has bragging rights!
i failed at freo, and passed at east perth
oh and another thing i failed for was
VIN number not visible.
make sure you clean the block near where the gearbox joins on. they also made me colour it in with chalk to make it even more visible.
i failed the pits first time for alot of stupid things;
horn didnt work
park lights didnt work
steering rack boot cracked
too low
too loud
blow off valve
pod filter
external wastegate
cracked carbon canister
2-3 vacuum leaks
not good! took me about 3 weeks to get everything done. hint: go to east perth, theyre easy
yeh i did mine no worries
green looks alot better than brown. you should have seen the sludge i flushed out of mine. japs dont know the meaning of servicing!
remove radiator cap
drain fluid in radiator
drain fluid in overflow bottle
remove heater hoses. flush through with water until it becomes clear. replace with new coolant
start car with radiator cap off and heater on. run un to operating temp (this removes air bubbles) seal everything back up and your away!
my car doesnt ping on 98 octane at 14psi (what its tuned to) whether its 12midnight or 12midday. i only used octane booster because drag racing or any race conditions puts added stress on the engine/car
i dont believe it helped at all. because my car doesnt ping anyway, and i didnt run any higher boost or advanced timing...
true
but if you cant reproduce the times on an everyday basis then what does it count for. woopdedoo you got a 9 second flat 1/4 mile time or a 700hp dyno readout, but if you cant have that as everyday power then wheres the fun in driving your car? (given that its a daily driver)
what im saying is i think we should be aiming for a car making power off pump fuel, and being an everyday driver. it is easy to make big power from fuel c0cktails and unstreetable engine components.
then you could still use the same argument. if you get a 12.5 on toluene this doesnt reflect everyday power. as on the street you cant reproduec the same power levels...
wouldnt you be more concerned with the hassles of pre-mixing fuel every time you drive. shouldnt your daily driver (as most skylines here are) be one which can run on pump fuel, not a lab experiment.
nice, well im leaving my heap of shit for 2 months cos im going overseas, but when i get back ill be in touch! how about a 100hp NOS kit, i gottah beef up the bottom end somehow, boost at 4500rpm really sucks
