  3. A ceramic turbo will let the exhaust wheel out and end up in the cat nothing to do with the comp wheel. Its mainly a problem with GTR's when the ceramics fail there can be ceramic dust that ends up being sucked back into the chamber, i've never heard of this on a RB25.
  4. Hey guys, i've noticed on a few cars, mainly skylines that they are dyno tuned with the CAS set to either full advance or full retard. Why is this done? When doing minor adjustments on my own car the CAS is always at 15* and every adjustment is done via the map itself. Seen a few Jap imports with the CAS fully retarded and when the new owners get the cars and put it back to 15 the engine blows(pinged to death). Hell, my old mans R33 had the CAS set to full advance, no pinging at all with the knock light or kmon.

  7. With 656rwhp you should be running ~135MPH tbh which is mid 10 sec territory.
  8. Hahaha i hope not! To be honest if the Z32 came in an AWD model i would never even consider a GTR of any sort. However i had the choice between skyline and 300ZX, drove both, made my choice.
  9. because every dead shit seems to throw on crappy china tyres or even worse, bald ones. I've driven 20+ different Z32's and i can guarantee the only ones that had wheelspin issues were the ones with high hp. Dude read my previous comment. 250rwkw is attainable on 98 on 16PSI, its been done before with a good tune. There are some in the 11's at 120+MPH on E85. Turbo wise you can turn them up to 24PSI(look at the compressor map of the turbos, also confirmed by people who have done it) but will drop back to 17PSI by redline due to the turbos choking. Highest i've heard of that has backed it up with MPH was a 450rwhp run. This car runs 11.4's at 121MPH another car has run similar on the dyno and ran 11.23 @ 124MPH.
  10. DVS JEZ has a 6262 on his GTR and from memory it spooled up as well as a set of -7's on the dyno. SimonR32 made 500+rwkw on his 6262(look in the precision thread) on stock internals, but had headstuds iirc.

AngryRB, a good condition stock turbo Z32 can make in excess of 250rwkw on 16PSI with 98 octane, mod for mod a ZX will DESTROY a GTSt, not even kidding. I know this as my family has owned and i have driven many variants of BOTH. No bias here, just plain facts, My NA ZX is on par with a stock/mild GTSt. Fair few guys are in the 11's on stock turbos with Z32's, including one here in aus doing 11.50's @ 117MPH on 98octane. Few in the US are doing 11.30's/11.40's at 121-124MPH with E85. The potential is there, just the bad rep from lemons that haven't been taken care of stops people from buying them.

  16. Detonation on pump fuel would also depend on cam/headwork too. As larger duration camshafts would lower dynamic compression. You may find some cars that have been built very well may make a lot of power and only gain a rather small amount(in comparison to others) when switching to E85/C16. Your limiting factors would be the small exhaust housing/pump fuel/standard manifold.

  18. Are you sure it was a 33 and not a R32 GTR? There was a Marone R32 GTR with those plates on elizabeth drive(this was about a year ago though) that shot past my cousins car a few times at high speed.
  19. Doesn't quite work that way, the SAFC intercepts and changes the AFM signal before the ECU gets to see it. Basically depending on how you tune it(leaner or richer), your boost cut/R&R/AFM airflow limiter will move. If you lean it out which would lower AFM voltage, the ECU would just think its in a lower load part of the map so it won't hit R&R. All i will say is make sure the tuner uses detonation detecting equipment as most don't when using an SAFC, seen more than a few cars with a perfect AFR curve and then have my knocklite go spastic when i plug it in.

  22. Nitto was on a 7675 and 43-ish PSI when it made 845awhp on the stock bottom end i'm pretty sure.
