  1. They say you dont make friends with salad... But in this case i will help.... I have done this swap more then any other.... Its easy about 3 hours of pure fun.... Everything bolts straight up except the top oil feed.... You will need to bend it slightlly to fit.... But be carefull not to bent it too much as it will crimp the line down and reduce flow... We dont want that.... Apart from that its bolt in and out.... My 3 hour estimate is me with 3 breaks of 10 minutes for smokes and coke......
  2. Do a full leak down test.... Also when you removed the old turbo was there much shaft play???
  3. Remember this one basic rule.... If you want more power you need... 1. More fuel (040 fuel pump and bigger injectors and maby a fpr) 2. More air (turn up the boost) 3. More ignightion (bigger plug gaps and more power for the spark) If you dont increase each evenlly you will have trouble....
  4. I found a 10psi 1.1 mm gap was fine on irudiums but at 14psi it was blowing out spark.... If i reduce the gap to 0.8 then i get a small flat spot where there is too much fuel and its drowning the spark bsiclly.... So im gonna toss out the split fires and run after market coil packs and spark plug leads.... Should reduce the heat issues these things have also.... $600 for a set of split fires..... vs. $400 for a set of 3 double packs from bosch and $100 on a set of leads from autobarn.... Much the same price but i know which will do a better job....
  5. If you go a fuel pump and a fuel pressure reg you may solve this problem... But a pfc will most certainlly fix it....
  6. I agree with inasnt.... save you time and money also.....
  7. When i was doing my aprentiship i was told to my suprise that gas can actually produce more power then petrol.... My teacher drive a 351 V8 hot rod running gas.... He always stated that gas is the better fuel... But it took me ages to get my head around what he was suggesting.... Soon gas will become a very common item on factory cars.... Ford ba falcon produces 184kw at the flywheel on 95 premium.... Ford ba falcon produced 184kw at the flywheel on gas...... Ford also go on to state that the gas motor will last longer in km's as there is less stress on the whole setup. However servicing cost are slightlly higher.... Take the price on fuel today (30/9/2005) Unleaded average in Brisbane $1.22.... Average on gas $0.43.... So servicing costs just got blown out the window cause you save 60% on your fuel costs... Also note ford say you got about 550km from a tank of fuel.... The gas version gets 650km per tank..... So once again gas wins..... Thats why most taxi's use gas. You will also notice all the new ba falcon cabs are all gas.... Have not seen a petrol one yet in Brisbane....
  8. dollars spent to upgrade a side mount is not worth the benifits of a fmic.... I mean i paid 460AUD for my intercooler and piping kit as a bundle from the US on ebay.... Measured an input temp of 131 degres out put of 29 degres...... So bang for buck.... Cant go past it...
  9. I also enjoyed reading this thread.... As a player of pfc myself i noticed many question i wish i knew the answers too 3 years ago.... However i ish for some people to post up their settings and their mods... I was talking to paul earlier and in trying something i lost my original setup... (very upset)... So now im back to base maps.... (not so good) I believe if people could share their settings and car type and mods done. We can all have a better starting point. Therefore using less time on the dyno and more money in our pockets for bigger turbo's... LOL So post em up fellers....
  10. Cant vouch for them ebay cats.... Not worth it to your health i guess...

  21. The mounting of gauges is the same as a bonnet scoop.... You must be able to see the edge of the bonnet at all times.... Thats the same for pillar mounts... So mount em high....
  22. I also double checked those ignightion maps and their the standard r33 maps that come pre-loaded on the pfc.... So did your tuner leave them as is....
